Speaker 1:We still got one more topic, Kirkland. I know.

Speaker 2:It's going to add a lot to the next one. Yeah.

Speaker 1:Can I look at it next week? I'm not throwing these at Dylan because Dylan's going to be like, Sonic, Transformers, what the fuck are you doing to me? He's going to look at the new... He's going to see the topics next week. He cannot speak to these. He cannot speak to these. Sorry, Taylor. Okay. Here's our last three. And we'll do this. We'll throw them out there. Live action. Cyberpunk 2027. 2077. Um, in the works at Paramount. So, you know, making moves. They're going to be making a new live-action Ghostbusters, rumored to be called Nightmare on 34th Street, in the work from the Sonic writer of Sonic 2 and 3. And then, Taylor, you can start us off.

Speaker 1:You can talk about them all, but you can start with this. There's been talks about it. Steve Spielberg is moving into the primary producer role for the next Transformers pick, with Michael Bay in early talks to direct. Both these things have been rumored before. They also announced that the G.I. Joe Transformers film is cut. That's done. That's over. But, uh, Obviously, Transformers had a heyday with those two. If you don't remember, Spielberg produced those other ones, and they direct them. So how are you feeling? Are you ready? Do you think they can recapture that magic in your soul, or do you think it's over? Do you think it's going to be washed? Do you think they can't get back there?

Speaker 3:I think Transformers had a brief period there in the 2000s era where it hit, and it hit good. Because, again, you're dealing with CGI kind of taking off and all these different... different ways of just, Oh yeah. Different ways of really popping off on the big screen.

Speaker 1:Right.

Speaker 3:So when you look at what Transformers did, I remember watching some interviews with Michael Bay when they're saying, okay, like we, if we're going to do the Transformers movie, we've got to make sure that, um, they have to look good. They got to, that's, that's the biggest part. Cause if they don't look good, people are not going to turn up and it's just going to be absolute shit. And they like their team fucking did it. And the CGI is phenomenal. in those movies. But I don't know if we're just in that era anymore where a new one will kind of take off. Now, what I personally want, and just the fact that Michael Bay is back blows my mind, but what I want is for Michael Bay to come back and do his true Transformers 6 movie.

Speaker 3:I want him to get full reigns back on that. But I know that's not the case because he was handed a script and whatnot. Did you know this?

Speaker 1:Were you talking to Cruise about this?

Speaker 3:No, but I know that there was a script that was provided for Michael Bay and he looked at it or whatnot. Because I was reading into the odds of them pursuing that actual sixth movie. And I don't feel like that's necessarily what Michael Bay is going to do. Although they haven't confirmed it or not.

Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know. I think that's some speculation on your part. I know the video you're talking about, but he's looking at a bunch of scripts. That doesn't mean... A bunch of scripts? Well, I thought so. And plus, did he write those other Transformers movies? Yes.

Speaker 3:That I do not recall.

Speaker 1:I'll look while you're talking.

Speaker 3:Cause I just, I just felt like that was his kind of his MO. I mean, you know, being in the earth, that just feels like a Michael Bay kind of thing.

Speaker 1:Cause it just, the dialogue just feels a lot like Michael Bay.

Speaker 3:It does.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:Especially when you look at Ninja Turtles, again, Michael Bay, it's.

Speaker 2:Just the two.

Speaker 1:He just produced that. I don't think he just produced it.

Speaker 3:I thought he directed it.

Speaker 1:So technically he brought Fox back. Technically he did not. He's only written one thing. It was a Colin James music video. Oh wait, no, I was wrong. Thank God. That was, wait, no, Oh, no, producer. Yeah, he's only written one thing, something for a music video. So he only has one writer credit. He is his producer and director. So technically, he did not write any of those Turtles or Transformers movies.

Speaker 4:Hmm, okay.

Speaker 1:So obviously, still, he's a director. He has his input, right? He says, oh, let's do this, let's do that. But he didn't technically write the screenplays for any of those. Okay, well, that's good. So someone could have handed that script, and he's like, yeah, here we go. Because I... I don't know why you don't make it the sixth one. Like, to me, if you're bringing Michael Bay back, I feel like you're clearly trying to go for an audience. You should try and go for that audience. Now, to me, is that audience still there? I don't know. But, like, if you're going to reboot it, to me, if you reboot it, then you go for a different vision. You're just going to reboot with the same guy. And they did, right?

Speaker 1:They did do the reboot.

Speaker 3:But, yeah, that's the weird thing. Like, you're going to have him reboot this franchise, and he's already done the five movies. Like, it's just as weird to make an ask.

Speaker 2:Of that sense.

Speaker 3:Like, I hope. Again, without the legendary voice of Optimus Prime kicking around RIP, it's unfortunate. But I think they use all the lines that they have because, I mean, Optimus Prime, he doesn't have to say a lot.

Speaker 1:He says the same shit again.

Speaker 3:Well, I mean, he doesn't have to say a lot, but it's not like they don't have a lot of dialogue, like lines, right? How many animated projects and all the live-action movies? There's so many lines that they can pull from where they can just clip it together and do different line work. And again, it's not like his physical... appearance you know uh in in the film right it's optimus prime cgi so there's a little bit of leeway but what do you got.

Speaker 1:I don't know for sure too but i think i think he might have allowed ai to take his voice because i just see something here pure because hasbro is developing authorized artificial intelligent version of optimus prime and other core characters through six wall studio collaboration with 11 labs Peter Cullen's involvement. Peter Cullen, the iconic voice actor, who passed away in August, yeah, 2026, collaborated with Hasbro on the initiative while he was alive, using a system built from authorized recordings and new material, rather than an unauthorized clone.

Speaker 1:So I think technically, he's given the go-ahead that you can use as voice AI. If that's the case, that's fine. I think Bay is against AI, though. He's actually one of the rare people that I, looking at Bay's personality, I thought, oh, for sure, he'd be a fucking AI junkie, and I don't think he is. Let's see. He comes on AI. To all original creators out there, have no fear. It just imitates. It doesn't create. We'll create a whole bunch of lazy people. But again, what does that matter?

Speaker 1:Who knows? We cut to him being like, well, I just really wanted to represent Peter, so we thought this was the right time to do it, right?

Speaker 3:Yeah, and I mean, if you have Peter's blessing as well, I think that kind of is a bit of a game changer, too. He knows his voice is iconic when it comes to the character of Optimus Prime, and so I'm not going to assume, but it just feels like, okay, he cemented this foundation so that the character Optimus Prime could still exist for future generations with his voice. I think that's amazing because he's voiced Optimus Prime for fucking ever, like since the get-go. So how do you have anyone come in and try to replace that? But anyways, so if we do get around to getting that sixth one, that being it, then I'm all for it. I hope that's the case because I want it. And I really thought we were just done with it. And I've always had to live in the back of my mind that we're never getting a follow-up to the last night. And like the last night was a long movie.

Speaker 1:Wake up in the middle.

Speaker 3:Of the night.

Speaker 1:Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3:Like last night was a long fucking movie. They get longer and longer. I can't remember the run time. I think it was like two and a half, two hours, 45 minutes or something like that in the theaters. Like it was long. And I saw that three times in the theaters.

Speaker 4:I did.

Speaker 3:I took two dates, two separate ladies to that in the theaters.

Speaker 1:Wow.

Speaker 3:Yeah, no follow-ups. You fucking dog.

Speaker 1:That's why you took him to that fucking movie?

Speaker 2:Yeah, because you took him to the last.

Speaker 1:Night. You're like, hey, babe, what do you think about the movie? Look at me! Oh, no!

Speaker 3:Jesus Christ!

Speaker 1:Happened to Taylor two times. Look at me! Oh, no!

Speaker 3:Jesus Christ!

Speaker 2:Taylor.

Speaker 1:No, no, no.

Speaker 2:The second one was more like.

Speaker 1:Did you take mass of these at all? No, no. Has Madison seen this yet? I don't know if she has, actually. You know, if she watched it, she'd probably... I.

Speaker 4:Was waiting for someone to hit the fucking Gandalf one.

Speaker 1:Or Dumbledore. Fuck.

Speaker 3:But yeah, I think, let's do it. Let's fucking go.

Speaker 2:Let's do it.

Speaker 3:I want the sixth movie so bad. Unicron and all.

Speaker 1:And Cyberpunk, Ghostbusters, Sonic Rare.

Speaker 3:Yeah, Ghostbusters, the golden script, as Jim Carrey says.

Speaker 1:He's not in here. He could be. He could be. It's the Sonic.

Speaker 4:That'll be his fucking red carpet promo.

Speaker 1:He said it was a loser. He's in the Ghostbusters outfit. When he says Illuminati, he was just making a joke on the show, right?

Speaker 3:No, he's 100% serious. If you listen to how he's talking, he's in it. He believes it. He's calling out Jimmy Kimmel because Jimmy Kimmel's like, what is this? What are you talking about? He's like, oh, you know. Don't fucking bullshit me kind of a thing.

Speaker 1:Imagine Kimmel has no fucking clue. He's just like, what do I do with this guy, man? He thinks I'm in the Illuminati. Fuck. Ugh.

Speaker 3:I'm not going to play it, but I'm going to send you the link so you can watch it after.

Speaker 1:Okay, sure.

Speaker 3:Because I can't believe you've never seen it before.

Speaker 1:I'll blare it at midnight, wake Emily up. Look at this. Look at this. And then I'll wake up in the morning, wonder where Emily is. Look at me.

Speaker 4:Oh, no.

Speaker 3:Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:Leo's so good in that clip, man. He's so fucking good.

Speaker 2:Oh, no.

Speaker 1:Jesus Christ. Wait a second. We have two Gs? Oh, my God. Look at me. Oh, no.

Speaker 3:Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:Oh, Jesus. Just, wow.

Speaker 2:This is, like, almost an Oh, Jesus, too.

Speaker 1:Yeah, close enough.

Speaker 2:He just doesn't quite get the words out.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:I don't know what he's sending me now.

Speaker 1:No, it's the Jim Carrey thing. He said he would. Yeah. Oh, he unsent it now. Look at that. I'll send you a better one.

Speaker 3:I'll send you a better one.

Speaker 2:Let's pull it up. Watch it again.

Speaker 1:You don't have to edit this, Kirkland.

Speaker 4:Look at me.

Speaker 1:Oh, no.

Speaker 2:Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1:That's Shay in the morning.

Speaker 3:Kirkland, go. I got to attend to the boy.

Speaker 1:Kirkland, go.

Speaker 5:Where am I going?

Speaker 1:Look at me!

Speaker 4:Oh, no!

Speaker 1:Jesus Christ! Oh, my God. Like, fuck, man. What Leo had to go through in that movie? Thinking he's back, his wife thinks she's somewhere else, and jumping off the building, and then also taking his kids away by saying he was abusing her and everything. What a fucking cob, man. He went through it. He went through it. Check out our Inception retro. I'd love to redo it, because we talked about fucking time travel for like 30 fucking minutes. I hated it the whole time, but that's okay.

Speaker 5:I don't even remember that.

Speaker 1:It was one of those casts where Jessica was on there, and it was just like the endgame one where someone was at the levels of the dream. And you know me. When it comes down to the rules stuff, I don't care. And it was Jessica and Dylan. They were going for a while.

Speaker 5:You were asking about the portals earlier, and you said you don't care about the rules.

Speaker 1:No, but I want to just clarify. Because I was asking why Nick Fury wasn't there. That's what I was leading up to. I was telling a story.

Speaker 5:Okay, fair enough.

Speaker 1:Back to you, Taylor, or you need Kirkland Sutter to go?

Speaker 2:I'm here.

Speaker 1:Okay, Taylor, answer. Ghostbusters, cyberpunk. Golden script. We're telling Jim Carrey. That's Kirkland's fault. We were talking. Kirkland Sutter, and he is with the... That was his fault.

Speaker 3:Yeah, I think that I'm ready for more Ghostbusters. I didn't like the Frozen Empire one that much. It was kind of lackluster. But again, the CGI and the ghosts, it all visually is very appealing.

Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3:Um, afterlife was just pristine. I love that movie. That was actually really good. I should watch it though. That was, it's been a while since I've seen it last and it's Halloween time. Um, and I mean, Oh, in honor, you know, I've got the ghostbusters.

Speaker 1:He shows his cock for the listeners.

Speaker 5:Not bad.

Speaker 1:Look like Slimer.

Speaker 3:Um, But, yeah, I think there's definitely room for more Ghostbusters. I don't need the whole team, though, the whole family dynamic of, like, eight Ghostbusters doing stuff in New York, though. That's too much. Yeah, too many. I'm down for just, like, let's jump ahead. Like, I would.

Speaker 1:Blade Runner, 24-9 Ghostbusters.

Speaker 3:Yeah, like, jump ahead, like, further down the road or further in the future. I think it would be super cool to kind of go back to... Zuul a little bit and just kind of explore like this.

Speaker 1:They did that already.

Speaker 3:I know, maybe not Zuul, but like there was that in the tomb, you could see like the dates and the date that like this goddess was coming back and there were like future dates along the wall too for like cosmic events. That would have been kind of cool to kind of touch upon something like that again.

Speaker 1:Maybe a while of Zuul in that movie. Was she in that movie? In the newest one? Yeah, she's Zuul. Oh, I did not know that.

Speaker 3:Interesting. Well, there you go.

Speaker 1:Just as sure as a rock is covered in chills already.

Speaker 3:As for Cyberpunk, yeah, that's a game I have not completed. It's a fucking grind. I mean, I'd hope that Keanu Reeves pops in there. That'd be kind of cool.

Speaker 1:Yeah, well, I guess it depends, right? Are they just doing this shit where it's like, well, we're just doing the world of Cyberpunk. We're not.

Speaker 3:Which is, I bet that's what they're going to do.

Speaker 1:Yeah, and it's like, Then they don't have to play Keanu. But like, I feel like you could try and get, maybe you, maybe you, cause I, I think there's a way maybe you can make it about Keanu's story. Like before, I don't think Keanu's story is that, I've not played the game yet. I want to, it's been on my, it's on my wishlist of like, or my, to playlist. But that's what I was going to ask you. Do you think they bring back Reeves or not? And do you think like, do you think Cyberpunk obviously was a big selling game, had some bumps in the road when it started, but then it came on the other side good?

Speaker 1:see Project Red, great developer. Do you think as a movie series, Taya, this will be a fruitful one? Obviously, not even kind of like good or bad. Let's just say like, you know, because good movies, Thunderbolts, Mad Max, Heroes of the Bomb all the time. I'm just saying as a brand, do you think Cyberpunk is ready to become a feature film successful brand? No.

Speaker 3:I don't think this is something that, I don't think the world's ready for this. I don't. And if it is, then, you know, good for them, but I just don't get the vibes that this is the time for it. Yeah.

Speaker 1:Just losing a bunch of fucking money right after this merger. Kirkland, same three questions for you. Cyberpunk, Ghostbusters, Transformers, Bay.

Speaker 2:Cyberpunk, I think that's interesting.

Speaker 5:I actually got this confused with the Blade Runner show Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1:That's still out next month.

Speaker 2:Is it show or movie?

Speaker 1:Yeah, the show's out next month.

Speaker 2:Can't wait.

Speaker 5:I kind of just like, yeah, fuse those things, those two things together. I mean, I think Cyberpunk is popular enough. I feel like that show, or sorry, that game still kind of has legs. Like, I still see people kind of interact with it. There's also that anime show that Netflix did.

Speaker 1:People really like that show.

Speaker 5:Yeah, I think it like just had another season or something. But yeah, also from what I hear, I haven't checked it out myself, but. I don't think there's, like, an overabundance of this type of, like, this type of, I guess, setting.

Speaker 1:Genre.

Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly. There's this genre, so.

Speaker 1:Is that reasonable? Like, you look at Blade Runner, that bombed, like, let me bring up, like, cyberpunk movies, like.

Speaker 2:It's a good question.

Speaker 1:Cyberpunk genre movies. Let's see, like, what's a, you know, where's our Batman Beyond? But, like. Yeah, I guess Matrix, but even those Matrix sequels, they're not doing the greatest. Robocop 1, Dread, that didn't do good. Upgrade, no. Alita Battle Angel, no. Elysium, no. I think it's a hard franchise to crack. I think it has a niche.

Speaker 5:This will be an interesting case study, then, for the genre. Maybe it'll just die. Yeah. But, yeah, I don't really know how it's going to go. I'm not personally asking for this, but... I played a little bit of the video game. I thought it was pretty fucking awesome, actually. My PlayStation Plus got downgraded, so then I didn't have access to the game anymore, so I couldn't participate.

Speaker 1:I don't know if this is a great list, but IMDb, this list had 38,000 visits. Top 20 cyberpunk movies of all time. So the first one, The Matrix, sure. There's an asterisk because there's some other stuff going on, but sure, we'll count it there. That's successful. Ghost in the Shell, it's successful, but a different market, right?

Speaker 2:First Robocop.

Speaker 1:Yeah, the anime. Yeah, they got the anime, yeah. Robocop, the old one, yeah, sure. And then Blade Runner, epic movie, but didn't do well, like the first one. Akira, yeah, but again, different market. Total Recall, sure. Minority, the first one, Arnold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ready Player One, which I, you know, did fine. Like, Tron Legacy, like, there's none of these. Like, Edge Tomorrow, Fifth Element, Oblivion, Alita. Elysium, Looper. None of these are like top tens of the year other than maybe like Matrix, right?

Speaker 1:So it is more a niche market. I'm in that niche market. I fucking love cyberpunk stuff. So this might actually get me to kick like rocks or not kick rocks and actually play the game because I want to.

Speaker 3:Wasn't Looper like your number one movie like for a period of time? I thought you were like super hyped on Looper.

Speaker 1:Never. No?

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 2:I have a distinct.

Speaker 3:Memory of you praising it.

Speaker 1:Maybe it was a Golden Geeks for that specific year, because didn't we do a 2012 Golden Geeks? I think, and that's when it came out.

Speaker 3:We did 2011, because we had Harry Potter in there or something.

Speaker 1:We might have, but we did 2012 one year because we had Avengers in there. Is Looper even 2012? Am I just speaking out of my fucking ass?

Speaker 2:We did it in one of those Golden Geeks years.

Speaker 3:Yeah, it is 2012. Brian Johnson.

Speaker 5:Yeah, I feel like he was also, like, he probably dropped that movie title name around The Last Jedi time.

Speaker 1:I think that's why, because I remember me and Amber loved Looper, so that's why we were really excited for The Last Jedi, because we were like, oh, Rian Johnson, fuck yeah. I'd say it was maybe my favorite.

Speaker 5:Knives Out, too, around that time, maybe.

Speaker 1:Yeah, Knives Out, yeah. Even then, though, I don't know, because Skyfall's 2012. I don't think I put it above there, but I do love Looper, but the reason I can confidently say no to it is because anything after 2008, I know it's The Dark Knight, so, like, nothing's replaced The Dark Knight. The only thing I get close to is, like, the fucking Batman movie. And maybe another film, but not Looper. But still a great movie. Love Looper a lot. I'd be down to do a full retro. We didn't do, you know, we just did the Golden Geeks one. Hopefully one day it comes up. I don't know when, but, you know. Great time. Ghostbusters? You care about Ghostbusters, Kirkland?

Speaker 2:Ghostbusters.

Speaker 5:I am so out on the Ghostbusters genre. I haven't seen any of the recent ones. Didn't see the all-female cast.

Speaker 1:Oh, you'd love that one.

Speaker 5:Pretty checked out on the Ghostbusters.

Speaker 3:You haven't seen Afterlife? No, I haven't. I would say of all of them, that's one worth watching.

Speaker 5:Is it a short movie or is it a long movie?

Speaker 3:It's short because it's good. Feels like time is flying.

Speaker 1:Too long!

Speaker 2:It's too long, Taylor. I can't do that. And then what's the Michael Bay thing? He's just coming back to do AI movies.

Speaker 1:No, no, no. He's returning back to the Transformers franchise.

Speaker 2:He's doing Sonic.

Speaker 5:Yeah, I mean, I.

Speaker 2:I don't know if I'll see it.

Speaker 5:I don't know if I'll participate.

Speaker 1:Well, if a retro happens... you're going to be fucking seeing it.

Speaker 2:I'll be there. I'll be there for sure.

Speaker 1:If it ain't like a retro, we have to pay it off some way.

Speaker 5:Back in the day, I loved the first movie. I feel like I really liked the second movie. I feel like I was still a part of it for the third movie. And then something happened, and I just, yeah.

Speaker 2:I did see Bumblebee. I did see Bumblebee. It was okay.

Speaker 5:It was mostly just led by Haley Steinfeld. And then John Cena was like the worst villain I've ever seen in my life.

Speaker 1:He's real bad in that movie.

Speaker 2:But you know what? Retro, I'm there. But yeah, I don't know. This doesn't really move the needle. It's not like Michael Bay's returning. I'm like, holy fuck, boys.

Speaker 5:We're so saved on Transformers.

Speaker 2:Yeah, don't really.

Speaker 5:Just don't have an attachment to the franchise.

Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm... Like, again, I talked about this before. I'm not a big fan of the Dude Bro franchise. That is exactly what Transformers to me was. I've told the story many times. I should have been excited for Transformers. That was in the air of watching those movies. 2006, the end of that year, I see it departed. Changes my life. And I remember seeing Transformers being like, this is like, I remember everybody does like, oh, the first one's great. And the rest of that, for me, it's the first one. I didn't even like that. And maybe that's just a time my tastes were changing. So maybe now...

Speaker 1:And I only saw it the one time. Maybe now if I watch it, there might be some things I appreciate. But I don't think there will be. And I think they all get progressively worse. I do get why listeners want us to do it. Because I'm sure it would be a fun retrospective. I'm sure there's dumb shit in there. And patrons just like putting me through pain. So, of course, when I saw that 85%. But still, the Exorcist one also won 85% as well. So people want you to see Exorcist. And, yeah, we'll see. We'll see. But.

Speaker 1:I guess it's kind of like what Taylor's saying. Can they recapture this? To me, what I just feel like with here, well, Steven Spielberg's taking a primary creative role. Like I said before, he produced the other ones, and I feel like he just was in-name, getting a paycheck, helping out a little bit, and moving along. I don't think Steven Spielberg's in the fucking dredges, like, we've got to do this with Decepticons. I don't really think that's happening.

Speaker 1:And if he is, what was his first move? We'll get back Michael Bay. And again, if there's those people that missed the franchise and didn't like Bumblebees and Transformers 1 and they want to get back there, this is a chance. I just wonder how many people still show up to that. This just feels like a studio thing where it's like, well, fuck. I'm just completely alone. Kirkland's gone from his desk. I'm here.

Speaker 3:Keep going.

Speaker 1:I'm here.

Speaker 3:I'm listening.

Speaker 1:I just looked down. I'm just doing a Travis Tully now. I'm going to cut this out, make my own pay. No, but I just don't know I feel like they just looked at a board and they're like, oh, Transformers, all these last three movies, Rise of the fucking Beasts and One, all this stuff, they're not doing well. When did they do well? Well, they did well when Michael was directing them. Well, let's get Michael back. I don't think it's as simple as that. And maybe it is. Maybe that's what the audience wants. But if you looked at those other movies, they were doing well, but they did start to slowly go down, right, in finances. So I don't know. I think it's... I'm very curious to see, like, I don't know if I'll be seeing it. If there's no retro, I don't really, I do not want to see this in theater. And I don't, I still don't. This is only because I'd love the fans. If they get us a certain goal on Patreon, sure. Did you see Rise of the Beasts?

Speaker 3:No, we did Bumblebee.

Speaker 1:Actually, I did. No, I did, right. And I thought that was, like, good. I thought it was solid. Nothing, like, amazing. I watched it with the kids and they thought the same thing was fine. Bumblebee, yes. Bumblebee was great. I've never seen Transformers 1 either. I hear great things about that, but. I haven't seen that either. Yeah, everyone tells me it's like the bee's knees, but. I just don't, I think there's sometimes where certain genres, franchises, actors, directors, they have a time in the sun where they're the top shit.

Speaker 1:And lots of times you just don't get back there. So I just don't know if Transformers can come back and just be top shit again. Just be like, oh, well, Michael's back and it's going to be Transformers 6. And it just made a lot of people feel like, I'm kind of over this. I'm kind of done. I'm ready to move on, right? And that's the test. You never know. But nostalgia is also a powerful drug. And I've said this before. Right now we are in the late 90s, early 2000s nostalgia. If you look at the sequels being made and everything, that's my point of why I think Shrek's going to do so well. If you're looking at the legacy sequel stuff, it's starting to go like, oh, well, these people that were kids in the 2000s like me and Taylor, well, they're older and they got kids now.

Speaker 1:So we can get like, because if they see Shrek, they're going to take their kids. If they see Brand New Day, they're going to take their kids. So they're trying to get, or No Way Home with the other Spider-Men, they're going to take them. So we're in that era where maybe it could work. Um, I just don't know. I don't know what the poll is now, especially after all these years. So we'll see. Um, Ghostbusters.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:I don't even love the first go. Like I think Ghostbusters, the original is a fantastic, well-made movie. It's not for me for not even, not for that. It's just not one of my go-tos. I can look a bit. Oh yeah, this is good. And if we're like, if I've watched it, oh yeah, I like Ghostbusters, but it's not like, it's not one of my go-tos like watching every Halloween or anything. Sequels, all kind of lessening degrees. I agree, Taylor, that, um, Afterlife was a fun legacy sequel, and yeah, Frozen Empire is fine. I think with Transformers, where I'm going back and forth, last, Ghostbusters, awful successful, made $ 201 million. I think Ghostbusters might be in the time where it's kind of done. There's rumors that they're being an animated show on Netflix. Yeah, that makes sense, but I think as a movie, as a successful IP, I don't know if Ghostbusters is there anymore. Like I think, I think they juiced it for what they could for the legacy sequel and then frozen empire. If frozen empire was a bigger hit than I understand, but it felt like people just came back to see the legacy characters and after like, ah,

Speaker 1:we're good. So, and again, that's not like the Sonic writer. You look at their credits. Like again, I'm not even like a holder of ghostbusters, but to me, some of those franchises from the eighties are so special that they got to have care taken to them. no disrespect to this guy, maybe he's a huge Busters fan, maybe he's got the golden script like a Carrie version, but from what I've seen from his work, and if I look at the Sonic movies, I do not look at that, and this is coming from a minor fan of Ghostbusters, I don't look at those Sonic movies and be like, man, that's what Ghostbusters should be. That's where this franchise has to head is, whatever they're doing there.

Speaker 5:Wait till they come out and they're all.

Speaker 1:How do we catch the ghost? At the same time! The ritual! The ritual!

Speaker 4:The ritual!

Speaker 1:And then, yeah.

Speaker 5:I got to bring back, oh, sorry, for Michael Bay. I got to bring back Linkin Park. I feel like that would fucking get people going.

Speaker 1:There's a female singer, though, so now it's going to be woke. Oh, the new Linkin Park song is woke for Transformers. Fuck these movies. Michael Bay lost it, you know.

Speaker 4:You're right.

Speaker 5:Yeah. They can never win.

Speaker 1:No, they can never win.

Speaker 5:Well, they could bring back Shia, and then it would be like anti-woke.

Speaker 2:So there you go. Balance it out.

Speaker 3:He just got divorced. Poor guy. Oh, no.

Speaker 1:Poor guy. No. Divorce. Fuck Shia LaBeouf's a piece of shit, man. Good for Mia Goth. Good for you.

Speaker 3:I didn't realize they were married. They were married.

Speaker 1:They had a kid together.

Speaker 5:I thought it was like an open relationship or something.

Speaker 1:Does that change that they have a kid together? Yeah.

Speaker 5:It doesn't mean that they're married.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 1:I didn't say anything there. You guys said that. I said they have a kid together.

Speaker 2:I said, were they married?

Speaker 5:And then you're like, they have a kid together.

Speaker 1:That to me is more important than marriage, in my opinion. And before someone that doesn't want kids, fuck off. You're allowed to not want kids. I don't give a shit. If you don't want to have kids, you hate kids, great. Good for you. Don't reproduce. I don't give a shit at all. I'm saying if you have a kid with someone, that is more bonding. You know why? If you have no kids, you get divorced, you could never see that person ever again. You could never think of them ever again.

Speaker 1:You got a kid with somebody... never see them again so maybe for those people but if you love your kid that's it that person now you've had a kid with is in your life for the rest for for the rest of time of course that person i was gonna have on to announce they're in gauntlet is like oh i'm up now yeah i know we're bringing them on now uh let's see um that's our punk i don't know how it's gonna do i'm I think it's worth taking a shot. I think it's, I think just for me, it's all question of what that budget's going to look like. You know, do you go after big actors?

Speaker 1:Cause if you go after big actors, I feel like if you want to make that world look good, then that's going to get very expensive soon. And I don't think cyberpunk is that yet where it's a guaranteed, like we can make this for two 50, make a profit. No, I don't think that. I think if you could, if they take the route where they're like, Hey, we're going to, give it a big budget for the world, but we're going to go after some new actors? Okay. Because I don't think you can do the reverse. I don't know in Cyberpunk if you can go after the big actors and be like, oh, but the world budget, that's going to be low. It's going to be very log, trucky CGI.

Speaker 1:From what I've seen from Cyberpunk, I think that world needs to look good. And for me, it's also going to be exactly the same with what happens with Ghostbusters. who's the team they get behind this the producer on it right now is a guy that produced madame webb so it doesn't give me great confidence but it's all about the director the writer um you get a great director on there that cares about this property in the world great and then they make me care about that but is this just paramount right now who's in a mode to be like let's just make uh ip movies like today they announced like a medieval times movie where it's like these this guy goes to medieval times and something happens and they come to life and he's back in medieval times it's just like And we heard about that with the Digger stuff, where they were like, oh, we want Tom Cruise for Days of Thunder 2, not for Digger. And that's where it's like, okay, so now that Paramount has Warner Brothers, is that just what Paramount's going to be doing? Obviously, there'll be some original stuff, but are they going to be really heavy on IP?

Speaker 1:Cyberpunk's cool? Great. Medieval times?

Speaker 3:Great.

Speaker 1:I don't know. We'll see. Time will tell. Kirkland, you happy with this episode?

Speaker 2:I thought it was great.

Speaker 1:An hour and a half?

Speaker 3:Clear?

Speaker 2:I thought it was awesome.

Speaker 1:It was. It was a great episode. When we're going this long, we're always having fun.

Speaker 5:I'm doing some things in here. I have a new hand gesture so I can pose for photos.

Speaker 1:First day back to school for Kirkland. Hey, we need to refill your ID. Yeah, sure. Put your hands down.

Speaker 3:No, no, no.
