Halloweenies® is a weekly horror franchise podcast. Each season, co-hosts Justin Gerber, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, Rachel Reeves, and Michael Roffman slice and dice through an iconic series -- one movie at a time. In the past, they've covered Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th
With Tricks and Treats, the Halloweenies answer your questions. Since they're hanging out in Haddonfield this October -- as per podcast tradition -- we've tasked our patrons to submit questions only about the Halloween franchise. So, join Rachel, Mike, and Justin as they share thoughts on different timelines, quality dips, favorite what-ifs, Michael Myers killing Avengers, and more.
The Halloweenies keep their favorite October tradition going! Last year, Michael Roffman and Dan Caffrey ventured to the Haddonfield Public Library to read Dennis Etchison/Jack Martin's 1982 novelization for Halloween III: Season of the Witch. This year, they're dusting off Nicholas Grabowsky's 1988 novelization for Halloween IV. Together, they discuss how the book feels more grounded than the film, the aesthetics bleeding off the page, the what-if Easter eggs, and where we go from here.
The Halloweenies descend into the bowels of Hades and are tasked to survive the final four Hellraiser films from the original series run. This includes 2005's Hellraiser: Deader, 2005's Hellraiser: Hellworld, 2011's Hellraiser: Revelations, and 2018's Hellraiser: Judgment.
Rachel Reeves sits down with composer Double Danger to discuss the harrowing score behind Evil Dead Burn, which will be pressed to vinyl by Waxword Records. Pre-order your copy today and catch the film at home when it streams on HBO Max this October.
The Halloweenies revisit Paul W.S. Anderson's best movie Event Horizon, a space epic that says: What if we melted together Alien and Hellraiser? This is the commentary track, which we're unlocking from a couple years ago. For the full, one-off episode we just recorded, you'll want to grab that in The Rewind: patreon.com/halloweeniespod.
Welcome back to Coming Soon & Now Showing, our monthly series that catches up on the latest horror headlines and round robins capsule reviews of new and old horrors. Today, Mike and Justin debate on why Horror is selling so many spirits (of the beverage variety), pay their respects to Victor Miller, and meditate on Bruce Campbell's recent health update. From there, they review new-ish releases like Colony and Faces of Death before plunging back into time with Avalanche and Torture Garden.
We came home... at least digitally. Halloween: The Game is finally out and the Halloweenies report back from Haddonfield, Illinois to share their first impressions on the highly anticipated title from Illfonic and Gun. Joining the gang is special guest Matt Sampere, filmmaker of Creeping Death.
After taking a break to burn with a broken family of deadites in July, the Halloweenies return to their coverage of the Hellraiser franchise as summer burns off its last days in August. (Hopefully.) At last, we have arrived at Hellraiser: Hellseeker, the sixth entry in the series that went direct to video in Fall 2002. Together, Mike, Mac, and Rachel play with the puzzling, if not pretzeled, behind-the-scenes hell before diving right into the lake of fire with Mayhem, aka Dean Winters, and a familiar face in Ashley Laurence who may or may not actually be playing Kirsty. Eh, you'll find out…
Rachel Reeves sits down with production designer Nick Bassett to learn about the making of Insidious: Out of the Further, the sixth installment in the Blumhouse blockbuster franchise. There's some Halloweenies Dominion, too, as Mr. Bassett is no stranger to the Necronomicon, having worked on Ash Vs. Evil Dead and Evil Dead Rise.
To wrap up this month of Tales from the Crypt content, the Halloweenies are unlocking their 2025 commentary track for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 1996 midnight masterpiece From Dusk Till Dawn. Why? Because it was originally planned to be a Tales feature film. Join the gang as they smuggle their podcasting equipment over the Mexican border to catch a showing at the world renowned Titty Twister. If you want more commentaries, be sure to join our Patreon by heading over to patreon.com/halloweeniespod!
The Halloweenies are celebrating Tales from the Crypt all month long in August. You've been to the Bordello, you've seen the top episodes, you've heard from the Cryptkeeper himself John Kassir! Now, you can close out the festivities with our deep dive on the 1995 feature film, Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight. Get the full episode at patreon.com/halloweeniespod.
Welcome back, boys and ghouls! If you recall, for August, the Halloweenies are celebrating the legacy of Tales from the Crypt, now streaming on Shudder and Tubi, with several themed episodes. Today, the gang share their 12 favorites, including a few wild cards here and there.
Hello boys and ghouls! For August, the Halloweenies are celebrating the legacy of Tales from the Crypt, now streaming on Shudder and Tubi, with several themed episodes. What better way to kick it off than with the Cryptkeeper himself: John Kassir! The iconic voice behind the bone-breaking host speaks to executive producer/cohost Michael Roffman and Vanity Fair writer Andrew Buss about his curious meteoric rise to fame and how he ended up collecting cobwebs in the Crypt. This was recorded in July 2026 at Creep I.E. Con Aftermath.

The Halloweenies cool off from the hot hot heat and splish splash with giant alligators as they revisit Alexandre Aja's 2019 creature feature Crawl. Together, they discuss their love (or hate) for the timeless terror, their investment in Barry Pepper, and, uh, Demolition Man. Don't ask. This episode
Here at Halloweenies, we love practical effects—there's a reason why one of our categories is called Great Graphics. Well, consider this a full-length Great Graphics episode, where we talk to the effects team behind the titular puppet of Pinocchio Unstrung. As the latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, Pinocchio ups the franchise's game by featuring a villain that's entirely practical, created with a stunning mix of animatronics and, of course, puppetry. So take a seat at the workbench for a spirited interview between Halloweenie co-host Dan Caffrey and MASTERS FX President…
Welcome back to Coming Soon & Now Showing, our monthly series that catches up on the latest horror headlines and round robins capsule reviews of new and old horrors. Today, Mike and Mac hit up Elm Street, Haddonfield, and Crystal Lake before braving the high seas to discuss the horrors within Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. They also review this year's Exit 8 and Forbidden Fruits before dusting off old classics for the first time in 2020's Caveat and 1985's The Mean Season.
With Tricks and Treats, the Halloweenies answer your questions. In this installment, the gang mulls over prompts like: "What's the best starting lineup for a baseball team of movie maniacs?"; "What are the absolute worst lessons Hollywood will learn from the success of Obsession and Backrooms?"; "Who should write and direct the next Evil Dead?"; "Which horror franchise would you like to take creative control over?"; and our favorite on-screen devils and creature features.
The Halloweenies continue their monthly coverage of the Hellraiser franchise with this 2000 relic: Hellraiser Inferno. The feature directorial debut of Master of Horror Scott Derrickson is readymade for an elaborate discussion, from aesthetic choices influenced by David Lynch, Jacob's Ladder, and Silent Hill to the hit-or-miss cast led by a familiar face in Barker's world: Nightbreed star Craig Sheffer.
Here's a preview of our all-new Patreon exclusive episode that sees the Halloweenies hitting the living room to watch the 1991 Fox TV original movie: Omen IV: The Awakening. The Halloweenies hitch a ride out to the small town of Abaddon in Upstate New York to check out this totally killer haunted house that's opening: Hell House LLC. Join Michael Roffman, Justin Gerber, and Rachel Reeves as they discuss director Stephen Cognetti's found footage gem that has since spawned multiple sequels and spinoffs. But, as with anything, nothing is ever quite as good as the original. Note: This episode was originally released to our patrons in October 2025.
Halloweenies, you're in for a special treat: Filmmaker Joshua Bailey joins the show to discuss his incredible new documentary Stolen Kingdom, which delves into the history of mischief, scandal, and theft at Walt Disney World. Perhaps you remember the whole kerfuffle involving the disappearance of Buzzy? No? Even better. Like every great doc, this starts from Point A and gets to Point Z in the most curious and fulfilling ways. So, while not horror per se, we're pretty passionate about this one.
Welcome back to Coming Soon & Now Showing, our monthly series that catches up on the latest horror headlines and round robins capsule reviews of new and old horrors. Today, Mike and Justin look back on the blockbuster weekend that saw Backrooms and Obsession smashing box office records. They also brush on some franchise news and dust off oldies for the first time: 1987's Dead of Winter and 1977's False Face.
It's 2127 and the Halloweenies awaken on board The Minos, where Dr. Paul Merchant instructs them to watch 1996's Hellraiser: Bloodline. It's here -- Hell Priest in Space -- and the gang finds plenty of gravitas in the franchise's fourth entry. Together, they discuss how the film was massacred behind the scenes, the appeal of Adam Scott, dream castings for the Toymaker, and whether or not Doug Bradley has scaled back on becoming Freddy Krueger.
