S4E4: The Magic Castle

0:31Speaker 2:Enough about that, let's get too today's super Live A Lewis story.

0:38Speaker 1:The Magic Castle. The story you were about to enjoy was inspired by Rose. Thank you so much for your amazing idea. Abrah could Debrah called out Levia as he waved around a magic wand in his playroom, I said, Abra coud Debrah. Levi I sounded very frustrated as he stood in front of his magic for a beginner's book. He kept waving his wand around and around, but nothing happened. Levi had recently become very interested in magic after watching a magician at a carnival the week before his name was Magnificent Marvin. He made a rabbit appear in his top hat, made a glass of milk disappear into thin air, and made Levi's dad's watch magically leave his wrist and end up on a sealed box of popcorn. Magnificent Marvin made it look so easy, said Levi in a huff as he plopped down on the couch in front of Ivy and their friends Rose, Hannah, and Joey. I just don't understand why I can't do it. Well, maybe it has something to do with the years and years and years of practice that Magnificent Marvin had, said Rose. I mean he looks older than my grandma. Yeah, Levi added Hannah.

1:50Speaker 1:Don't get down on yourself. You just need some more practice and maybe some help from this, said Joey as he took out a box from his backpack. Levi, Ivy, Rose, and Hannah all gathered around as Joey placed the box on the table. I bought it at the carnival after Magnificent Marvin show, said Joey. He was selling them out of an old trunk that looked like it was a million years old. He said it was his last one. So cool, said Levi, taking off the box stop that read Magnificent Marvin's Magic Quest. How do we play? Joey explained that Magnificent Marvin told him the game was all about helping the main character find some special magic stuff, and there was a wizard or something. It was clear that Joey hadn't really been paying attention, so the rest of the group knew they'd have to learn as they went.

2:35Speaker 1:Levi was very interested. He listened closely as Hannah read the instructions. I love it, exclaimed Levi, who wants to play? Levi's sister and all of their friends could see how excited he was, so they all agreed to join Magnificent Marvin's Magic Quest. Just one game, Levi, then we can have ice cream, said Ivy. Sure, whatever you say, answered Levi as he sat up the game board and gave everyone a metal game piece. He took out the dice and sat down a pile of cards in the middle of the game board marked Magic Quest. They were all set to begin. Levi went first. After moving his game to the's four spass. He picked up a Magic Quest card and read Abracadabra only gets you so far. Picking this card can make things quite bizarre. I see great things in you, like me as a child, a magical spark that is special and wild. I need your help, and your friends can come too. If you're a magician, this will prove that it's true. After reading the card aloud, leve I had looked at Ivy, Rose, Hannah and Joey.

3:34Speaker 1:They all looked confused and surprised by what he had read. What do you think that means, he asked everyone sitting in the playroom. It sounds like that card was written specifically for you, said Ivy. Yeah, it sounds like Magnificent Marvin is talking directly to you, added Rose. He's saying you remind him of what he was like as a child, and now he's totally magic, said Hannah. So does that mean you're two? I don't know, replied Levi. Wow, that's one specific card, said Joey. But I mean it's just a game, right. Levi started to laugh, and so did everyone else, when all of a sudden, the playroom got dark.

4:15Speaker 1:Obviously very surprised by this, they all backed away from the table and watched as a bright light began to shine from the center of the game board. It formed a giant, glowing portal above the board, and before they knew it, a strong wind began to swirl around them, and they were pulled into the portal one by one. Then as quickly as it appeared, the glowing portal was gone and the playroom was empty. It felt like no time had passed it all when Levi, Ivy, Rose, Hannah, and Joey all opened their eyes to find that they were sitting in the middle of a forest, a forest unlike anything they had ever seen. Where are we, asked Levi as he stumbled to his feet. How should we know you're the magician in training? You tell us? Answered Rose.

4:57Speaker 1:The group looked around, trying to make sense of where they were, until they heard a loud, booming voice echo through the forest. They all uncovered their ears and crowded together, waiting to see who or what was making such a ruckus. They hid behind a fallen tree and waited. In a matter of seconds, a puff of blue smoke filled the forest around them, and out of that smoke stepped a man and that looked very familiar. Hey, guys, who do you think stepped out from that smoke?

5:22Speaker 2:Huh?

5:24Speaker 1:Is that? Ivy began to say, I think it is, replied Hannah, knowing exactly what Ivy was going to say. Magnificent Marvin called out the group as the man walked toward them, swinging a giant black cape behind him. Who welcome, my friends. I knew you would make it here, eventually, said Magnificent Marvin. I need your help. The kids all said hello, but quickly turned their attention to some very important questions like where are we, why are we here?

5:53Speaker 1:What do you need help with? Can I get to get to your next magic show? Joey called out, LEVI is that it's really important right now? I mean we just teleported to a magic force through a light portal in my playroom, and you're asking about a magic show tickets. Well, he puts on a really good show, said Joey. We can talk about all of that after, said Magnificent Marvin, trying to refocus the kids. But right now I need your help. A wily wizard who loves playing games got a hold of my five most powerful magic stones. They can't fall into the wrong hands, and I need them back before my next show. And if you don't get them back, asked Ivy, then I won't be Magnificent Marvin anymore, I'll just be Marvin, said the sad looking magician. That's why I need your help. Those five stones possess all my magical powers, and being a magician is all I've ever wanted to be. I devoted my whole life to it.

6:47Speaker 1:Bringing magic into people's lives is the greatest gift I can think of, and I don't want it to stop. Will you please help me? Of course we will, said Levi, answering for the group. But why can't you just get the stone back yourself using magic. The longer the stones are away from me, the weaker my magic gets, until finally it will be gone forever. Magnificent Marvin began. I've already looked for the stones for a little while, and I need more people on my team to spread out and hopefully find them fast. I use some of my last bits of magic to get you here, and I think I have just enough left to get us all to the Wizard's magic Castle, where he's hid in my stones. Levi, Ivy, Rose, Hannah, and Joey didn't need to hear one more thing. They all agreed to help Magnificent Marvin on this spot. The magician couldn't have been happier and whipped up one last big teleportation spell to get them all to the Wizard's castle and start the hunt for his five magic stones.

7:42Speaker 1:As soon as they arrived, Magnificent Marvin told each of the kids to go to a specific section of the castle. He told them what his stones looked like and wish them all well. Then ready for the coolest game of hide and seek ever. They each headed off, leaving Magnificent Marvin waiting by the castle gates. He was tired and running very low on magic. We've got this, Magnificent Marvin, called out Levi, and as the magician in training, I'll do all I can to help you out. Thank you, Levi and everyone else. Good luck and how fun, called out the tired magician as the kids scattered in different directions and disappeared into the castle. Remember the Wizard loves to play games, so be ready for anything. And when you found my stones, run back here as quick as you can. Joey was the first to reach his section of the castle, the library. He began looking through bookshelf after bookshelf, which seemed like an endless task. That's when he looked around and saw that as he looked through one bookshelf, another bookshelf would pop up behind him. He could hear laughing coming from behind the piles and piles

8:43Speaker 1:of books, and knew the wizard was close by. It's a never end library, said Joey to himself. How am I ever going to look through all these shelves and books? Joey thought for a moment and realized one thing he had on his side was how speedy he was. He was the fastest kid in his class, and decided to use that to advantage. He began running around the library as fast as he could, and since this was a magic castle, he quickly found himself running faster than he ever had before. The wizard couldn't keep up with him, and before he knew it, Joey was looking through the final bookshelf, where he found the first Magnificent Marvin's magic stones.

9:17Speaker 1:He grabbed it and ran back to the castle gates, handing the first stone to a very happy Magnificent Marvin. While this was going on, Hannah was in the castle's portrait room looking around the room very closely at all the portraits, and since this was a magic castle, the portraits were anything but normal. As Hannah looked around, she heard whispers in the room, but no one was there. That's when she whipped around quickly and heard the whispers coming from a most unlikely spot, one of the portraits.

9:44Speaker 1:The person in the portrait was talking. All the portraits were talking. They tried to distract her with riddles and rhymes, but Hannah stayed focus. However, as she searched behind all of the portraits, thinking that that could be a good place for a magic stone to be hidden, she noticed something was happening. The walls seemed to be growing higher and higher all around her, and more and more portraits began to appear in the room, filling the walls. Thankfully for Hannah, she could jump really high, and since this was a magic castle, she quickly found herself jumping higher than she ever had before. She jumped up, checking behind each portrait before she finally reached the ceiling and the last portrait, and that's where she found the next magic stone.

10:23Speaker 1:She grabbed it and ran back to the castle gates, handing the second stone to a very happy magnificent Marvin. Well this was going on. Rose was in the castle's basement. It was dark, and dreary and covered in cobwebs. As she searched around, she heard scratching on the ground and the walls. Hello, Rose called out, hello, She heard bath. Lucky for Rose and for Magnificent Marvin. She had a great connection with animals, from spiders to mice, from lizards to cats. It was as if she could understand them and they could understand her. And since this was a magic castle, she quickly found herself actually talking to all the little creators that called the castle basements home. The mice, spiders, and lizards ran to her, and as you could imagine, they didn't get many visitors in the basement, and they liked her immediately. They wanted to help her, but didn't know where the magic stone was. However, they all knew one animal that would, the Wizard's cat. Once the Wizard's cat was woken up from her afternoon nap, she walked over to meet Rose. They said they're hellos before Rose begged the cat to help Magnificent Marvin and tell her

11:24Speaker 1:where his magic stone was hiding. Well, normally I would remain loyal to the wizard, but yesterday he forgot to give me my mid morning snack so lucky for you. I'm a little mad at him right now, said the Wizard's cat with a big stretch, before leading Rose to a loose brick in the basement wall. She pulled the brick out of the wall, and there was the magic stone. Thank you so much, called out Rose, before grabbing the stone and running back to the castle gates. Once there, she handed the third stone to a very happy, magnificent Marvin.

11:53Speaker 1:While this was going on, Ivy was stumbling completely by accident, into a secret room by the castle's kitchen. She had been wandering around the castle when she decided to stop for a moment to rest. She leaned up against a wall in a long hallway and just by chance, pressed on a secret button hidden behind the wallpaper. A secret door opened up before her. As she walked into the room, and there, sitting there on a small table covered with a blue tablecloth, was the magic stone. Ivy approached it carefully, waiting for the wizard to play some kind of prank on her. It couldn't be this easy, could it, thought Ivy as she looked at the magic stone. Well, it was that easy, because just finding the room was the hard part. Ivy then grabbed the stone and ran back to the castle gates. Once there, she handed the fourth stone to a very happy Magnificent Marvin. Just one more, exclaimed Magnificent Marvin, thank you all so much. I can feel my magic returning. It's all up to Levi now, and I know he can do it. He's got something special, something all magicians have. He just needs to realize it.

12:54Speaker 1:Magnificent Marvin, Ivy, Rose, Hannah, and Joey all waited the castle gates, just hoping everything was going well for Levi and hoping they'd see him soon running toward them holding that last magic stone. While this was going on, Levi was making his way around the spell room. He knew it was getting laid and he wanted to get back to Magnificent Marvin as soon as possible. He tried to focus in and think like a wizard for a minute. Where would I hide a magic stone if I were a wizard that loved to play games, thought Levi's. He looked on the shelves, in jars and behind tables. He then sat down to look at things from a different angle.

13:27Speaker 1:That's when he saw it. A giant book, bigger than all the rest, on a desk covered bookshelf. It was the Wizard's spell book. That's it, said, Levi. The magic stone is in the book. He started flying through the pages, but didn't see a stone. Instead, he saw a page that caught his eye. Written on the top were the words hidden magic Stone riddle. He knew the wizard must be somewhere laughing at him right now, eagerly waiting for him to play his little game. Levi knew he didn't have time to waste and read the riddle. Abra cadabra only gets you so far. I know this whole game is quite strange and bizarre. If you search with eyes and also your heart, you'll see what you're seeking is right at the start. Sometimes what you seek is right there on a shelf, But to find it you first must be leave in yourself. Leevi I knew exactly what the riddle was telling him. He so badly wanted to be a magician that he wasn't being patient. He didn't realize how much hard work it took to achieve this dream, and expected to be just like magnificent Marvin as soon as he started. At that moment, he realized he had

14:29Speaker 1:to start at the beginning. Levi needed to put in the work, learn through successes and failures, and soon enough he would get better and better at magic the beginning, Levi thought, as he looked at the bookshelf. That's it. He reached out and grab a book that looked very familiar. It was titled Magic four Beginners. He wasn't ready for a magic spell book just yet. He had lots to learn, and finally knew that when he opened up to the first page, he saw a picture of the wizard, and since this was a magic castle, the pictures began to talk.

14:59Speaker 1:Congratulate Levi. Thank you for playing my game with your sister and all your friends. You did a wonderful job, said the wizard. Magnificent Marvin is waiting for his final stone, and here it is, Levi. I reached out and took the stone from their wizard. Thank you, said Levi. I can't wait to see the great magician you become, said the wizard. Magnificent Marvin will teach you well, I'm sure of it. Farewell Levi. Then the picture of the wizard turned back into just an image of the book. Levi's smile placed the book back on the bookshelf. And ran back to the Castle gates. Once there, he was met with applause and cheers as he handed the fifth stone to a very happy Magnificent Marvin. You did it, Levi said, Magnificent Marvin, thank you, thank you, thank you. Now let's head home with his full magic back, Magnificent Marvin created another portal in front of the castle gates that returned Levi, Ivy, Rose, Hannah, and Joey back to the playroom. When they arrived. Once the swirling smoke cleared, they sat there unable to speak.

15:58Speaker 1:Their magic quest had left them speechless. As they finally began to speak to each other, Joey called out, look at these they were five tickets to Magnificent Marvin's next show, with a note that read, I hope you'll all join me. It would be great to have some extra magic at my next show. The kids were all so excited and definitely planned to go to the show, But first leave, I had some practicing to do. He grabbed his magic for a beginner's book and opened it to page one, ready to learn. Thanks for joining us today. We hope you enjoyed the story and learned a little something too.
