0:32Speaker 1:Let's get to today's super Lively Lewis story. The story you're about to enjoy was inspired by Garrett. Thank you so much for your amazing idea. After spending the day at the Natural History Museum, Levi and Ivy couldn't stop talking about the new dinosaur exhibit. It was filled with amazing larger-than-life fossils and models of dinosaurs that used to roam the Earth. There were scenes set up of pterodactyls soaring through the sky, a triceratops, brontosaurus, and stegosaurus feeding on plants, and even the king of them all, a T-Rex, showing off his enormous teeth and claws. Levi and Ivy had always loved dinosaurs, but up until that day, they had only read about them in books or seen them on a TV or computer screen. But now that they had a chance to stand next to the models and fossils of some of their favorite dinos, they could see how truly awesome they were. They both felt like little ants as the dino models towered over both of them.' Can you even imagine how cool it would be if those dinosaur models could come to life and walk around the museum?' Levi asked Ivy, with a sense of wonder

1:34Speaker 1:in his eyes as they drove home from the museum. I bet if they stomped around here with their huge feet swinging their gigantic tails, they would knock the whole place down in no time, said Ivy. If that happened and dinosaurs were no longer extinct, do you think Mom and Dad would let us have one as a pet? asked Levi. Ivy sat silent for a moment looking out the car window, really thinking about her answer. I hope they would. But I think we'd have a problem finding them a big enough spot to sleep. And how would we decide who would be on bathroom cleanup duty? Giggled Ivy. Oh, you're right, said Levi. Maybe it's best that they just stay at the museum. But as they drove home, both Levi and Ivy couldn't get the thought of interacting with real dinosaurs out of their heads. They imagined themselves sharing adventures with them, riding on their huge backs and stomping all over the place. When they got home, they took out all their dino toys and set up a big play scene. Some parts of the scene looked like what they had just seen at the museum. Other parts were created with their imagination, like a ferocious Mosasaurus splashing in

2:40Speaker 1:a huge lake causing chaos by trying to flood the valley, forcing many of the smaller dinos into the water where the Mosasaurus would be waiting and hoping to get a quick snack. Levi and Ivy played with their dinosaurs until it was time for dinner, and then again before they went to bed. And as they were brushing their teeth and putting on their pajamas, they both could not stop thinking of what it would be like to live in the land of the dinosaurs. Drifting off to sleep that night was a little difficult with all the big dino-sized thoughts they had swirling around in their heads. But once they settled in and their eyes began to close, they both slipped into a dream. It just so happened to be the same dream. Hi, Levi, said Ivy as she walked toward her brother. They were both in a huge valley with tall mountains all around them. It seemed to go on forever with no end in sight. Giant trees, plants, and rocks were scattered all around. Hi, Ivy. It's so cool we're having the same dream, said Levi. But where are we exactly? At first glance, the area they were in didn't look very interesting. It looked pretty boring, in fact.

3:45Speaker 1:But then the ground began to shake a bit and a loud rumbling sound followed. Levi and Ivy stepped closer to each other, not knowing exactly what would be coming over the hills in front of them. But they had a pretty good idea of what they hoped it would be. And lucky for them, they were right. As the rumbling got louder, Levi and Ivy watched as several figures began to come into view. They were the biggest living things Levi and Ivy had ever seen.' Is that a brontosaurus?' called out Levi in a whisper.' Yes!' Is that a Triceratops?

4:21Speaker 1:asked Ivy. Sure is, replied Levi. And there's a Stegosaurus too. A whole bunch of them and they're coming this way. They couldn't have been more impressed with what they were seeing. However, as the dinosaurs got closer and closer, their sighs made Levi and Ivy feel a bit nervous. I hope they can't see us down here, said Ivy. How about we stand on the top of those big rocks over there just to be on the safe side? Levi liked that idea, and they both climbed up onto the two giant boulders they were standing next to. Moments later, the curious dinosaurs walked up to them, and something amazing happened. Hello there, friends, said the brontosaurus, lowering down its long neck to see them better. Welcome to our world. Talking dinosaurs? Screwed Ivy with delight. This is the best dream ever, shouted Levi, dancing on the top of the rock in excitement. The other dinosaurs stepped a bit closer to say hello and inspect the visitors. They were quite quiet, though, and didn't talk very much. Then Levi and Ivy learned quickly that not all of their new friends in front of them were dinosaurs. In fact, one of them looked a little familiar.

5:39Speaker 1:Professor Jordan? Is that you? asked Levi with a confused look on his face.' Sure is. Hi, Levi and Ivy. It's so great to see you here,' said the professor from the back of a triceratops. Professor Jordan was a scientist at this natural history museum that Levi and Ivy met when they were visiting that day. He taught them all about dinosaurs. And apparently his lesson wasn't over.' I' m so glad you're both here,' said Professor Jordan.' You' re just in time to see something amazing.' More amazing than real talking dinosaurs standing right in front of us? asked Levi.

6:15Speaker 1:I can't wait! Professor Jordan told Levi and Ivy to hop on one of the dinos and follow him. They both jumped right on and off they went. Walking across the valley for a few minutes, Levi and Ivy couldn't have been smiling any bigger as they sat enjoying the incredible views all around them. Once the dinos all stopped, Levi and Ivy could see there were two things on the ground in front of them They looked like eggs. And they were. Levi and Ivy hopped down and walked with Professor Jordan to get a closer look. The eggs were laying in a shallow dirt hole surrounded by leaves and mud. It's an egg clutch, said Ivy as she got closer. I remember that from the talk you gave us at the museum. Very good, Ivy, said the professor. Yes, dinosaur nests aren't made from twigs and sticks tucked away in the tree branches like a bird would make. They're built on ground like this, and some dinosaurs even bury their eggs completely underground, like crocodiles and turtles. At this point, Levi and Ivy were only half listening to Professor Jordan.

7:17Speaker 1:Not because they weren't interested in what he was saying, but because one of the eggs was starting to crack. Then the other. What perfect timing, whispered Professor Jordan as he motioned for Levi and Ivy to get a bit closer. He explained to them that he had found the two eggs on his travels through the valley. He had his dinosaur friends create a nest for them where they could hatch together. Of course, any dino egg hatching is incredibly special, but these two are even more special because we don't know what kind of dinos are inside them, said Professor Jordan.

7:49Speaker 1:I found these eggs in two different parts of the valley. So it's like a dino unboxing, giggled Levi. I hope we get the ultra rare, giggled Ivy. Just then the cracking sounds got louder and everyone turned their complete attention to the nest. Levi and Ivy's eyes lit up as they watched the eggs shake, shimmy, and move. The shell of one egg began to crack more and more and all of a sudden out popped a little claw. Then a little tail. Then a little nose. Then a little T-Rex!

8:21Speaker 1:called out Ivy trying her hardest to keep her voice down. A baby T-Rex! Are you kidding me? This is the coolest dream ever! shouted Levi in a whisper not wanting to scare the new baby dinosaur. And if it couldn't get any more amazing the other egg continued to crack and break apart until out popped a baby pterodactyl said Levi trying to control his volume professor Jordan welcomed the two new baby dinos into the world along with Levi and Ivy and the other dinosaurs the babies could feel all the love around them and knew instantly they would be well protected because they were with family these wonderful dinos will now care for these babies until they grow up said the professor I am so happy you were both here to see this happen. I can't believe how small they are and how big they'll get, said Ivy.

9:12Speaker 1:The T-Rex is about the size of my friend Tyler's cat, said Levi. But Tyler's cat is nowhere near as cool. Then Levi, Ivy, Professor Jordan, and all the dinos they met spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the valley and playing. I didn't know that this day could get any better, said Levi to Ivy as they rode around the beautiful valley on giant dinosaurs. I know, it's so much fun, said Ivy, as she said that they walked up to a small hill and could see a large lake ahead of them. It was crystal blue and sparkling in the sunlight. How beautiful, said Ivy. But Professor Jordan looked a bit worried. Then he told Levi and Ivy why.

9:52Speaker 1:In that lake lives a very unhappy Mosasaurus, said the professor. I think he's upset that he's a water reptile and can't be on land with all the other dinosaurs. Every once in a while, he gets up to no good trying to figure out a way to have the other dinos join him in the water. However, he's a carnivore, which you learned today means he only eats meat. So jumping in the water with that top marine predator would not be something any of these dinos would want. Levi and Ivy felt uneasy for the first time that day hearing Professor Jordan talk about the Mosasaurus. Seeing his sister was upset, Levi tried to reassure her that she was safe and everything would be fine. Well, he's in the water and we're on land, so we've got nothing to worry about, Ivy, said Levi. Ivy smiled at her big brother, but still couldn't shake the feeling of uneasiness. That's when they all heard something in the distance. It was coming from the lake. It sounded like splashing. very loud splashing, like giant boulders being dropped into the water. Professor Jordan quickly stood on top of the brontosaurus's head and asked

10:55Speaker 1:that he lift him into the air using his long neck so the professor could get a look at what was happening. And once he was up there, what he saw wasn't good. The mosasaurus was using his massive tail to knock down the rock wall that held the lake water in place. He was likely trying to cause a flood to fill the valley, which would force all the dinosaur land into his water with him. Once Professor Jordan told everyone what was going on, they only had one question.

11:23Speaker 1:What are we going to do? called out Levi and Ivy. Professor Jordan knew he had to think of something fast before the valley was completely flooded, putting all the other dinosaurs, especially the new little babies, in danger. Levi and Ivy talked as well, trying to come up with a plan. They knew the Mosasaurus was angry because he was alone in the water, while the other dinos roamed around on land together. Maybe he was sad and lonely too. Then Levi and Ivy thought, what could make him feel better if they were lonely? Professor Jordan, has anyone tried to talk to the Mosasaurus? asked Levi. To see what's the reason he's been so angry, added Ivy. We're only assuming why he's upset, unless he's had the chance to tell someone himself. You know, I don't think any of us have ever talked to him, said the professor, and gathering more information could help us find a solution to this problem.

12:15Speaker 1:Maybe we should go out there and see what's up. Good idea. Go out there? Out where? In the water? With the Mosasaurus? asked Levi. Well, we thought maybe we could just shout to him from the shore of the top of one of those big dinosaurs, said Ivy. Good thought, but he's making so much noise that he'd never hear you, said the professor. No, going out to see him in the water would be best. Now we just need to figure out how we can make a boat to get out there. And as the professor looked around, he noticed the little baby T-Rex was scratching at the ground and playing in the dirt. As he clawed the ground, something sparkly caught the professor's eyes. Gold! We can use that gold to make a boat, he said. Everyone start digging.

13:06Speaker 1:Levi and Ivy had no other choice. They had to follow along with Professor Jordan's idea. Hopefully talking with the Mosasaurus would save the valley from being flooded. The dinos clawed and dug into the ground until they unearthed a large amount of gold Professor Jordan then had the giant dino step on the large pile of shiny gold and press it into a thin sheet. Then they all worked together using the dinosaur's unbelievable strength to bend and shape the thin gold sheet into a boat, which was light enough to float on the lake. Then after a little pep talk on the shore, Levi and Ivy were ready to hop in their golden boat and sail off with Professor Jordan. Fingers crossed, they hoped their plan of kindness and understanding would work. The golden boat sailed swiftly through the water, heading for the wall of rocks at the far end of the Mosasaurus. But the giant reptile was so busy trying to take down every rock, he didn't even notice the boat approaching. However, when he did finally look up and see Levi, Ivy, and Professor, he made it clear he was not very happy. He thrashed and splashed in the water and around the boat. He dove

14:10Speaker 1:under the water and jumped into the air, landing in the lake and sending giant waves toward the boat, which lifted it into the air. When it finally rested back in the water, Professor Jordan, Levi, and Ivy were having second thoughts about being out there. Then the Mosasaurus spoke.' How dare you come into my lake?' he boomed.' Kind of a waste of time, if you ask me. For you to make that boat and walk it all the way over here. If you had only waited another little while, the whole valley would have been flooded and you could have jumped in anywhere.' Mosasaurus, we need you to listen to us, Professor Jordan began. You can't flood the valley.

14:51Speaker 1:The dinosaurs that live here can't live in the water, and you won't be happy either. There isn't enough water in the lake to fill the whole valley to the depth you're used to. It would be like living in a puddle for you. But at least I'd have other dinosaurs to talk to, said the Mosasaurus sadly. I'd rather have friends in a little puddle than no one in this huge lake. At that moment, Levi and Ivy knew their plan was to show kindness to the Mosasaurus. So you don't want to hurt the other dinosaurs? asked Levi. No, not at all, said the Mosasaurus. I just wish they would give me a chance to explain that I'm not mean.

15:30Speaker 1:But they never come over to talk because of all the scary stories they've heard about me. I don't even eat meat anymore. I'm a carnivore turned herbivore and I eat the seagrasses and plants that grow at the bottom of the lake. What if we can promise that the other dinosaurs will come over and see you every day, said Ivy. Well, tell them what you've told us, and we know they'd love to come and learn more about you. The Mosasaurs looked over at the rock wall that held the water and the lake, and thankfully he was only able to move a few boulders, which didn't affect the wall at all. If he stopped right then, he could keep everything the way it was and not flood the valley.

16:06Speaker 1:And by doing that, he hoped he would finally make some friends. The Mosasaurus, with a little tear in his eye, said, Yes, to Levi, Ivy, and Professor Jordan's request. He would stop taking down the rock wall and keep the lake and the valley as it were. I just feel so touched that you came all the way out here to talk to me, said the Mosasaurus. I don't like feeling sad and upset and lonely all the time. It would be so nice to meet some new dino friends. Thanks for helping me make this happen. Levi, Ivy, and Professor Jordan were so happy for the Mosasaurus. They told him to swim to the rock wall at the far end of the lake and wait there. They would bring over their dinosaur friends to meet him. Then Levi, Ivy, and Professor Jordan sailed off in their golden boat back to shore.

16:52Speaker 1:The other dinosaurs were so happy to see that they were all right. As they all walked over to the rock wall, Levi, Ivy, and the professor shared with their dino friends what the Mosasaurus had told them. The other dinos felt terrible thinking of him being alone in the lake for all this time, and they were excited to meet him themselves. When they got to the rock wall, the land dinosaurs and the mosasaurus had their first meeting, and it went great. Even the babies joined in the fun, using the mosasaurus as their own personal water slide. They slid down his long back and off his flippers onto the water. They'd splash around for a bit, then the mosasaurus would gently scoop them up with his long flipper, and they would do it all again. This was the best day I'd ever had, said the Mosasaurus as he played with his new dino friends into the night. The sun was setting and Levi and Ivy felt like it was time for them to be waking up from this dream.

17:46Speaker 1:They said a big dino-sized goodbye to their new friends and thanked Professor Jordan for all his help. I hope you loved your time here, said the professor. It was so great to have you visit and I hope to see you again soon. Levi and Ivy did love their time at the wonderful dino dreamland. But there was one little thing that was missing. Professor Jordan could tell and ask them what it was. After they each told the professor what they wanted to do, he smiled and gladly granted their wishes. And as the sun set through the sky, Levi rode off across the valley on the back of a giant T-Rex and Ivy soared through the sky right beside him on a graceful pterodactyl. They enjoyed the last few minutes of their time in Dino Dreamland, looking forward to returning another day and seeing their prehistoric friends again.
