Helping to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. This is the Constitution Study on the American Outlaw Network with your host, Paul Engel. Let them eat cake is a translation of a phrase spoken by an 18th-century French princess showing her utter disregard of the people she was charged with ruling. In 21st century America, it's more about government actors' disregard for the impacts of their laws and policies. Hello there, everyday Americans. Paul Engel here with the Constitution Study, where we read and study the Constitution.

Teacherizing Generation Be Freak. Glad you could join me today. You know, you think about it. How often does some government actor with allegedly the best of intentions, of course, we know what that paves, they come up and say, Well, no, we're going to do this because, well, we just we have the best of intentions, with an absolute and utter disregard for the history of, well, not only fair government project projects, but the unintended consequences and in frequent cases, absolutely damaging impact these rules and laws and regulations create.

I mean, you remember what Ronald Reagan said. I've always felt the nine most terrifying words in the English language are I'm from the government and I'm here to help. Well, there are plenty of examples of where, well, government meddling, especially in things you're not legally authorized to, has caused problems. And uh frequently it comes back to bite us in the backside. Let's start with uh President Van, uh Vice President Vance, sorry, made an announcement the other day um claiming that the Trump administration administration is gonna suspend 870,000 people from access to federal loan programs uh and grants because they are suspected of defrauding the COVID-19 pandemic small business loans. You know, that that that slush fund of money that the government threw in order to bribe the American people and American small businesses into not going under after they illegally uh shut them down or deprived them of access to customers or all sorts of crazy things. They threw the these billions of dollars, said, here you go. And surprise, surprise, people cheated.

And but here's the other interesting thing. So, okay, uh they they took money for the things like the paycheck protection program and whatnot. That again, the federal government's not legally authorized to spend that money, right? This was embezzled money from the American people. And uh guess what? Government, which is really about uh I think is only efficient in doing one thing, and that's wasting your money, they offered these things often with little oversight, with little verification. And um, well, like I said, they they looked at 870,000 people. Now, they're suspected of defrauding the government. They haven't been proven to defraud the government yet. So now we've got another problem. Oh, well, somebody accused you of doing this. We haven't proven it yet, but we're gonna suspend you because someone accused you.

Well, we're gonna suspend you from this illegal program because again, the federal government's not authorized to be a banker. They're not there to loan money. Um, so again, this is just a complete, utter disaster. Now, the Justice Department between June 12th and September 1st ran this program called Heartland Fraud Surge, where they found where they charged 160 people with uh fraud defying the American taxpayer of about 245 million dollars. Uh, it involved 44 different U.S. attorney's offices, 20 state and federal initiative investigations. It was a pretty big thing. And it is estimated that um of the 870,000 uh suspected fraudsters, well, there's $39 billion in fraud that was part of this. Yes, I'm from the government, I'm here to help, and yes, I'm gonna make another farce out of it. That's kind of the way things are. That's why I keep telling people it wasn't COVID-19 that that made all the mess in this country. It was government's reaction to COVID-19. It was things like um, well, the these the the the shutting down, uh putting in rules that you had to be vaccinated, uh, six feet distances,

shutting down uh schools and and and businesses, and uh not just the federal government, but governments at all levels did this. It was the government reaction to COVID that caused all the problems. And it was a government reaction to COVID that led to, guess what? The federal government embezzling billions of dollars from you in order to make up for the losses that they caused. You know, let's let's let it was basically saying, hey, I'll tell you what, I'm gonna come, I'm gonna break your leg, and then I'm gonna take your money to take you to the hospital and take you to the hospital, and then I'm gonna set your leg. I'm not a doctor, I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm gonna set your leg anyway. I'm gonna charge you a bunch of money for it.

And uh, yeah, that's kind of what the federal government did and the state governments did, and even some local governments did, to this nation in response to a virus that was basically a bad flu. I know a lot of people get pissed when I say that, but when you look at the number of deaths from the from actual COVID, not death with COVID, but death from COVID, it was basically a bad flu season. Now, of course, when you're talking medical care, you have to understand the federal government's takeover of the medical. They didn't socialize it yet, but they did the just about the next best thing. So, first you had Medicaid and Medicare, which like the 800-pound gorilla in in the the funding stream of medications, right? You you had uh uh the the whole push towards um services were often determined based on Medicaid and Medicare coverage and their funding model. Uh so that put their thumbs on the scale and twisted the system up. Of course, you can go all the way back to the 1930s when uh during the Great Depression, the federal government got the brilliant idea that, hey, we can tell businesses what they can pay their

employees. There's nothing legal about that, there's nothing in the Constitution that authorizes that. That was a criminal act, but they did it anyway. And then these big companies said, Well, listen, how are we supposed to entice the best employees if we can't pay them any more any more than our competitor? So, you know what they did? They said, Tell you what, we'll make you a deal. You can offer benefits like health care, and you can deduct it from your taxes.

So now, okay, well, listen, I can't offer you a more pay, but I can offer you a better health care plan. And the business said, well, you know, I can write this off my taxes, so it doesn't cost me. I can go for that platinum level plan because I'm not paying that rate because I'm deducting that cost from my taxes. But of course, you and me, the average everyday American, we want to go get get health insurance. Can we deduct it from our taxes? Well, they said, No, you can't do that.

You got to get corporations to do that, which is why at the time, you know, most Americans got their insurance through their work. And then, of course, you had the so-called Affordable Care Act, which was really the Unaffordable Care Act, where the federal government tried to take over and tell everybody this is the insurance you need, and this is what you need to pay for. You end up with stupid things like single men having to pay for abortion coverage. Uh, yeah, you know, I had people that were were um uh again that were religiously opposed to certain treatments having to pay for those. You had a group of nuns that the government said you have to pay for abortion coverage. A group of nuns, I mean, ladies and habits. I'm not talking families with no uh uh no income, right?

Um, but no affiliations. But again, the the the government and what happened when the so-called Affordable Care Act took place? Health care insurance premiums skyrocketed. And the very people they said they would protect that they that they were gonna protect the American people from, the insurance companies, they made a boatload of money in collusion with the federal government. Well, here we are, 2021, and uh there was a survey done of employers and about the their their health benefit costs, right? Employee-sponsored health benefits, they expect it to rise another eight percent next year. Notice in 2027, if you get your insurance through your your employer, expect the prices to go up on average eight percent. That's the largest in key increase from 2023.

Let me ask you that. Has the Affordable Care Act made healthcare more affordable, or has it really made it more expensive and more complicated? I mean, I remember when I stopped working in corporate American, I'd provide for my own health insurance. It was crazy. I need to I need to hire somebody just to help me walk me through the process of getting the right coverage for me and my family. It was crazy, and it's still expensive. My largest single annual expense is my health insurance. And I don't mean by a little bit, I mean by a factor of three. And I'm not talking globe-plated platinum coverage, I'm talking middle of the road, you know, uh serious injury type coverage.

Yeah, a factor of three. So much for things getting better. So, what is driving this increase in pressures and costs? Well, there are more advanced diagnostic tools and medical treatments, and they cost money. New therapies, uh, especially for cancer and rare diseases, um, they often cost a lot of money. And of course, when you have the federal government saying you must cover these things, well, there's a cost of that. No, you don't get to decide whether or not that's a coverage, that's something you want covered or not. The government tells you you must have that covered. Now, I've been on the receiving end of my wife, has a has a medical condition. She takes a couple of exotic drugs. And I remember when we first the the first time they prescribed one of these drugs, I tried to find out what the drug cost. Nobody knew what the drug cost. Not the doctor, not the pharmacy, not the billing person. They had to go research to find out what this drug actually cost. They could tell me what I would have to pay with my insurance, but they couldn't tell me what it cost.

Now that I have different insurance coverage, that becomes a very important thing. And it was expensive. It was eye-wateringly expensive. And of course, it's driven a lot of people to look for alternatives. For example, uh, if you don't want uh uh the the a traditional healthcare, you know, go to the doctor, have it covered. There are what's called, I think they're called concierge physicians. You pay generally a monthly fee or maybe an annual fee, and everything they do in the doctor's office is covered, right? As many trips as you make to the office, whatever tests and things they do in the office is covered as a subscription. You know, you get prescriptions for movies, your subscriptions for movies. I have subscription for coffee. Get a subscription for your medical care, and it's less expensive. Why? Because these doctors' offices don't have the headache and cost of dealing with insurance. They don't they don't have to hire a person just to deal with their insurance stuff. Me, um, my wife was on a uh one of her drugs, very expensive. It was it was eight hundred dollars a month for this one

drug, and uh we were trying to figure out how we're gonna pay for that. That's a lot of money, especially now that you know I don't have the big corporate jar job with a six-finger income. What do we do now? We found a pharmacy that doesn't go through all the nonsense of the other pharmacies. That $800 a month drug I was buying through the pharmacy, the regular pharmacy, I buy through them for about $25 a month. Yes, that's that much different. There's something broken in the system, and I believe a lot of what we're gonna find comes down to federal regulations and federal agency collusion with pharmacies and and the the drug manufacturers. Oh, and back to the Affordable Care Act. You know what I found most interesting in the Affordable Care Act? Members of Congress exempted themselves from the Affordable Care Act.

That's when you know that's a let them eat cake moment. This is what you're gonna have. We're going to exempt ourselves. We don't have to follow the rules, but we expect you to follow the rules. That, ladies and gentlemen, again, let them eat cake. A complete disregard for the impact of the legislation they're passing, not just the fact that it's illegal, that's unconstitutional, that it violates your oath of office. We don't care about the impact. We're going to exempt ourselves because we know this is gonna suck. But you, you have to follow it. And that's what the American government has become. And I say the American because I'm talking about all the governments.

I'm talking about federal, state, local. Very often, their regulations that they claim are there to make your life better, if they exempt themselves from it, they know it's gonna suck. They know it's a bad deal. That's why they're exempting themselves. That's why every time I hear something, these unfunded mandates, all this stuff, let them eat cake. Do it. We will tell you what to do, but you gotta figure it out because we're not going to suffer the same consequences that we impose on you.

I suppose that members of Congress should be thankful that this is not uh 18th century France, where they had a very final way of dealing with their aristocracy. Now, if we're talking about medical care and your health, well, one of the things that's important to a good night's uh to your health is a good night's sleep. Now, thankfully, I generally sleep pretty well. I don't usually have a problem falling asleep. Occasionally, though, I do, especially when I travel.

Now, I could reach for things like melatonin, these the hormone that helps you sleep. And it it works, but it can actually disrupt your sleep wake cycle. It can actually disrupt your hormone cycle. Uh, so it can cause problems. Similarly, with pharmaceuticals, right? You can become dependent on them to help you sleep, which has its own problems. No, when I need help falling asleep, whether I'm at home or on the road, I reach for restful sleep from the wellness company. It uses natural ingredients to calm the mind and reduce stress for a better, more restful night's sleep without hormones and without pharmaceuticals. I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on TV, but it's backed by documented research. So when I see uh things like chamomile and valerian root, things have been used for generations to help people relax and fall asleep, it makes sense to me. It's also been vetted by the chief medical board of the wellness company, and I know some of the people on that board, and I kind of trust what they have to say. But check it out for yourself. Go to americaoutloud.shop and click on the restful sleep panel and do your own

research. All right, I want you to see what's involved, I want you to see what's included, I want you to look at the testimonials. I know it works for me, but I want you to be convinced it's going to work for you. And when you do, well, use the code out loud at checkout and you'll get 20% off of your order. So if you're looking for a way to help you get a good night's sleep, whether it's an occasional thing or a more regular thing, without the use of hormones or pharmaceuticals, well, check out RESTfulSleep from the Wellness Company by going to AmericaOutloud.shop, clicking on the restful sleep panel, doing your research, and then don't forget, use the code OutLoud at checkout to get 20% off of your order. You know, there's a saying that if you don't have your health, you don't really have anything. And it's important. I mean, I know people who are sick and it literally dominates their lives.

So when it comes to your own health, don't let the government tell you to let you eat cake. Make decisions for yourself, whether it's for things to help you fall asleep, for what you do to live a healthy lifestyle, or what treatments and medications, even how you're going to pay for all that. Don't let the government uh sell you a sell you a plug nickel. Don't let them sit there and say, let them eat cake. Make decisions for yourself. Whether it's uh uh the restful sleep or whatever products you look for.

Let's make sure that you are in charge of your health, that you are overseeing your health care, and that you are making the best decisions for you, not what makes some politician or bureaucrat happy. I'm Dr. Kelly Victory with the Wellness Company, and I know this personally. I exercised, ate a healthy diet, and had no symptoms when a routine mammogram resulted in a cancer diagnosis. It revealed a hard truth. Even healthy people can get cancer, and much of modern medicine is reactive, not preventative. So I began asking a different question. What can we do daily to support the body before something goes wrong? That question led me to formulate SHIELD. SHIELD is a two-part nutraceutical system designed to support immune balance, antioxidant defense, and cellular health, a chemical-free cocoa mix and soft gels containing medicinal mushrooms, turmeric, green tea extract, olive leaf, berberine, and black seed oil. Prevention is power. Visit Twc.health slash outloud and use code OutLoud for an exclusive discount. During treatment, City Tap water molecule structure gets messed up so your cells can't fully absorb it. Yes,

we have to purify our water, but what are we doing to fix the water structure so the body can actually absorb it? That is why we created our lab certified structured water devices. These devices restore water molecules back to their natural structure, just like a mountain stream, making them highly absorbable. It's not how much water you drink, it's how much water you absorb that counts. Better hydration, better energy all day. Well did you see Google finally updated a iPhone? Remove it, not to use a iPhone. Today we're talking Let Them Eat Cake, these examples of government actors that are more than willing to put in effect laws and rules and policies with little consideration of the impact it actually has on the everyday American. Now, I saw a brief story about a debate that's going on. The Trump administration wants to uh nullify a candidate for a green card if they are on public assistance. Meaning, if you're on a federal uh federal assistance program, welfare, Medicare, I'm sorry, Medicaid, uh, things like uh food stamps, then you are not eligible to get a green card. Now that's currently being debated and argued, and and as that argument develops, we'll talk more about it here. But it got me thinking about this idea of what happens when we um when we don't enforce our our immigration. Of course, I have the whole issue about immigration and um the fact that immigration is not a power delegated to the United States by the Constitution, it doesn't exist. Look at the word, the word immigration doesn't exist. Now,

Congress can set rules for naturalization and those becoming a citizen, but it says nothing about immigration, which means the 10th Amendment stands, which says a power not delegated to the United States nor prohibited by it to the states are reserved to the states respectively, or the people. So since it's not uh delegated to the United States and it's not prohibited to the states, technically, immigration is a state policy, not a federal one. That hasn't stopped Congress from passing laws and the executive from sometimes enforcing them, sometimes not, which means we end up with a lot of people in this country that are here illegally. They broke the law to enter the country. I know you can't call them, I'm not saying they are illegal aliens. They enter the country illegally, they broke the law to get here. Now, there's of course, you start talking about the Marxists and socialists and whatnot, they seem to love illegal immigration. They love illegal immigration, they love these people that are basically they're little more than slave labor. But this I'm looking at this from my old, old

hold the time, the city of my birth, New York City. Socialist and mayor is on Mandami. Now, he signed an executive order earlier this year that restricts non-city personnel from using city lots for enforcement operations. Now, to understand this, uh the not it was an existing administrative code. I think that means that that's something passed by the the the city council. If you are in a non-public area of public schools and homeless shelters, then people like ICE and the FBI could not enforce immigration laws there. What I understand Mr.

Mondami's executive order does is expand that to public hospitals. And uh and so if you are a if you're an illegal immigrant and uh uh you're concerned about being caught by ICE, there's a raid, all you'd have to do is head to a public school or a public hospital. If you can get into the non-public areas, under this administrative code, you're not allowed to uh uh agencies like ICE are not allowed to come in after you. Now, this is part and parcel for this quote unquote uh sanctuary city policy that uh not only does New York City have, but Mirmandami is really promoted. The idea that if you break the law to enter this country, we're gonna protect you.

That means that the citizens of New York City are paying for these services, these areas, and now they're become sanctuary areas. Now, again, I have I have concerns about how ICE has enforced or enacted their their mandates, uh, the the rules they were given to the to do that they have in some cases, I believe, violated the Fourth Amendment and the Fifth Amendment, and how they have gone about their raids and gone about their things. And again, I still have the problem with a federal law that's not authorized by the Constitution.

And we're going to find places where you can have sanctuary, you can have shelter. At the same time, uh Letitia James, who's the attorney general of the state of New York, she established an office of immigrant trust within her agency. This was back in actually in July. And she's issued formal administrative demands to a dozen local law enforcement agencies to terminate their agreements with immigrations and customs enforcement. Uh, I'm sorry, the Office of New York, uh the attorney general, I don't believe it has the authority to demand a local agency actually have an agreement or not have an agreement with a federal agency. Now, whether or not those agreements are good, that's up to the agent to the law enforcement agency that is not up to the attorney general. You can tell you can tell the state police not to do it. You cannot tell tell local law enforcement agencies who they can and cannot associate with. And this has fallen on some pretty deaf ears in with several of the sheriffs. However, only one county apparently has not responded to and said they were gonna do uh they're gonna terminate their relationship with ICE.

Rensselaer County. Now, of course, that caught my attention because I lived in Rensselaer County for a short period of time. I lived neighboring Rensselaer County where I lived. I was right near I for a while I lived inside of Rensselaer County for a few years, but I lived next door to Rensselaer County. I know exactly where they are, I know these places. Now, the the Attorney General's office has issued a subpoena and has sued apparently Rensselaer County because they refused to kowtow to the the Attorney General's office, demanding how they who they can and cannot associate with. This has gotten the attention of Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen after uh federal agents arrested more than 2,100 illegal immigrants across New York State during a month-long suite called Operation Rotten Apple. Do they pay people to come up with these names? I think maybe they do. But I look at this and I say, well, why is it the socialists and the Marxists are siding with the criminal as opposed to the citizen, the average citizen of the city and state they supposedly represent?

Well, Paul, they're not criminals. Well, yeah, they are. If you enter this country illegal, that the first time it's a misdemeanor. Every subsequent time after that, it's a felony. These are federal crimes. It is a federal crime to enter this country without following the rules. Yet they talk often about, oh, the poor immigrant, the poor immigrant, what about the poor citizen or legal resident or the person? Just take the people that have gone through the process, that have spent years becoming being eligible to stay here, maybe getting a green card, maybe eventually becoming a citizen. They followed the rules. They took the time, they spent the money to follow the rules, only to find out that not only have people broken the law and gotten in, but now they're those are the ones being protected by the city and state of New York, as opposed to the people who came in here following the law. What does that say? It says, let them eat cake. If you were dumb enough to actually follow the rules, that's your problem. Isn't that effectively what the city and state of New York is saying?

Now I will admit that probably the vast majority of people who are here, legal legally or illegally, they're just trying to live their lives. I'm not saying that every illegal immigrant is a criminal mastermind or part of a cartel, but there are some. And if we don't vet, that's one of the reasons why we want to vet people coming in this country so that we can filter out the bad actors, right? I mean, anybody who flies, I took a flight just this past week, and I had to go through a screening process because not because that the vast majority of people that that go through this porno scanner, as I like to call it, are actually criminals, but it's there to screen out those who are actually criminals.

Now, whether or not it's effective, that's a whole nother state. But the reason we want to screen people coming in this country is they're trying to avoid bad act. Now we're not going to get rid of all of them, but we want to find as many as we can. Like this lady, uh uh Jin D, also known as Sophie Sophie Jin. She is a Chinese citizen who was stopped at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport and charged with acting as a as an agent of a foreign government without notifying the U.S. Attorney General. Now, according to the affidavit that was attached to the complaint, um uh Jin arrived uh at the airport uh on uh uh on September 8th and said she was in the country to visit an 80-year one year old friend in Washington.

Well, during a secondary inspection, customs agents found a business card identifying the friend as a U.S. government official. Now, the official has not been identified. Uh, when they contacted them by phone, the official told Customs Agent he was unaware of Jin's travel and believed that she might be an informer for Beijing. Yeah. That's why we have borders. That's why we have ports of entry, and that's why we go through a screening process. Now, she's been charged, she hasn't been found guilty. Um, she has been in this country several times. Um, and you know, there's currently an investigation, right? In this, even this country, even for foreigners, you're innocent until proven guilty. But this goes to show why we have borders, why we have checkpoints, and why, when we simply ignore those laws, even if a majority of the people do no damage once they're in this country, commit no crime once they're in this country. We're trying to filter out those who do violate the law. And if you if we set rules for entering this country and you simply ignore them, that's a criminal act. Now, if you don't like the rules we set up,

work to change the rules. Don't simply ignore the rules because you didn't get what you want. That seems to be the way a lot of these socialist Marxists, uh, that's the way they like to live their lives. And if you live in Florida, I have a let them eat cake moment for you. Uh the Democratic Party has nominated Angie Nixon for the U.S. Senate seat for Florida. Uh, she's an avowed Democratic Socialist. And according to financial disclosure forms, she brought in uh roughly $270,000 last year from her jobs and investment. Uh, that is in addition to her husband's income, which was not published. Um, and she's complaining about having to pay taxes.

And in fact, she said during a podcast interview, your girl over here is on a payment plan to pay the IRS $12,000 back. And listen, I ain't made no $105 billion, but you're making me pay $12,000 to the feds. Like, really? That's what we're doing. And they already took some of the taxes away anyway. I paid over $10,000. It's just crazy. So here she is, a democratic socialist who keeps telling that the people need to pay their fair share. You got to keep raising that to pay their fair share, who's complaining about paying eight percent.

I did the math. If she if she's already paid $10,000 and she's paying off $12,000, that's $22,000, out of $270,000. That's assuming it's it's all for one year, then um that's only eight just over eight percent income tax rate. How many Americans are paying eight per only eight percent? And again, two hundred and seventy thousand dollars, she's rich. Her income is roughly five times the the national average. And she's complaining about paying taxes on that at eight percent. Oh, by the way, uh, she also own owes uh over $17,000 in unpaid federal student loans.

I guess she's complaining about paying that too. See, the the again, it let them eat cake. Sure, we want to raise everybody else. You're asking me to pay this, and again, she's on a payment plan. It's not like the IRS came and took $12,000 out of her checking account. She's on a payment plan. You know, I I I had a scenario where I owed the IRS money one year and I paid them in installments, and that's how it works. But to have somebody who is, again, democratic socialists, they're all about raising your taxes. Tax the rich, tax your rich. She's rich. If you're making 270 grand a year plus what her husband makes, right? So there's probably more, then she's paying just over eight percent in taxes, if those numbers are correct.

Uh, I thought she should be paying her fair share. She'd be she'd be paying like 30%, not eight percent. Let them eat cake. And when I see that, that's why I know. That's why I look at I I don't pay attention to what people say, I pay attention to what people do. And what Ms. Angie Nixon apparently is doing is griping about paying taxes, just like all of us. I'm waiting, I'm waiting for the first time that she says everyone should pay their fair share. Why didn't you want to pay your fair share, Ms. Nixon? Do you think anybody will point that out?

Oh, by the way, she's also claimed that she wants to institute a 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires. But she thinks it's crazy that she actually has to pay what I believe would most of the Democratic soldiers would say less than her fair share in federal income taxes. Let them eat cake. No, you don't make 105 billion, you make $270,000 last year. That's more I don't I never made that type of money when I was doing good in my career. I never made, I didn't make half that money.

And she's complaining about having to pay taxes at eight percent. Now maybe she's got more taxes, maybe that wasn't all reported, I don't know. But yes, oh we I have to pay taxes. I'm the special people. Don't you know that? I'm the rich, I'm the elite. I get to I I don't I shouldn't have to pay taxes, I'm special, and that is exactly how every socialist government in the history of the world has ever worked. You get to pay the taxes, you get to do the hard work, and then the special people, they get all the benefits. They get to claim, they they get the exemptions from taxes, they get all the goodies. Hmm.

Let them eat cake. Okay, I have another break coming up before I go, though. You know, the constitution study, we don't make that type of money, right? Um, we don't make a lot of money here at all. Which means if you can support the work that we're doing here, it'd be greatly appreciated. Now, one way is to go to our store. Go to constitutionstudy.com slash shop and uh check out the constitution study store. I've got books, I've got t-shirts, I've got mugs. You can even just donate to the cause. There's a you can make a one-time or recurring donation. And all of that money goes to keeping the Constitution Study up and running. Nobody here takes a salary, nobody here takes money out of the system. We put our own money in to keep this up and running.

That includes a radio program, that includes the the the website, the articles, the videos, all the it also includes the teaching events that I do. So when someone wants you to come and speak or teach an event, if I don't have to charge them, I don't. If they don't charge for people to attend, I'm not gonna charge them for me to speak. But it costs money to go to these events, right? I've got travel and living expenses. Um, I'm either I'm dry, I'm buying gasoline, which is really expensive now, or I'm flying. I've got a hotel room, I've got to eat, I've got, you know, all these things that I gotta do, it's expensive. So if you can help, if you can come alongside and help by going to constitutionstudy.com slash shop, I would greatly appreciate it. Oh, by the way, the that the the Constitution Study store is the only place you can get signed copies of my books. So if you want a signed copy, you can buy them there. But every dollar that comes out of that goes right into keeping the Constitution Study up and running. It's not used to to finance any of the work anyone else that we're doing here. I think that's important that

you understand. It also helps my find me finance going out and speaking to people. I don't want to charge them. I want, I think this information is that important, but I can only do it when people like you help by coming alongside and saying, you know what, here we go. We're gonna buy a book, we're gonna, we're gonna buy a t-shirt, we're gonna buy a mug, we're gonna donate so that Paul can continue to create this content so that the rest of us here at the Constitution Study can do all the research and help that we do so that we can bring this content that I think is important to the future of the nation.

It's also I hope you'll stop by AmericaOutloud.news each and every day. Why? Well, we live in the information age, right? Information's at our fingertips. The corporate media has been lying to us for decades, they've been caught. What do you do? You have to find places that you can both trust and verify to make sure that the information you're getting is right. One of those locations is AmericaOutloud.news. That's where I go, each, one of the places I go each and every day for news and information. And I'd love you to do your part. Yes, read the stories, read the articles, but then share them.

Friends, family, neighbors, you'd be surprised how often they'll say, I didn't know that. Listen to a podcast, watch the videos, share them, social media, civic groups. I bring them a lot of civic groups and explain, expose, expose them to information they may not have seen. See, it's when you share the information that corporate media and some other people don't want you to see, well, that's how we help secure the blessings of liberty for all of us.

Welcome back, everybody, American Drew rejoined the Constitution study. And today, we're going to be talking about Let them Eat Cake, the uh the way the government, though so many in government, they don't care about the impact their regulations have on the American people. And sometimes, every so often, people will roll back some of these ridiculous regulations. Now, I am no fan of the Environmental Protection Agency. I've said it before, I'll say it again. There's nothing in the Constitution that authorizes the federal government to protect the environment. That is not a power delegated to the United States. That for that agency, the legislation that created the EPA was not made pursuant to the Constitution. It is not the Supreme Law of the Land.

It is actually null and void, which means the EPA not only doesn't legally exist and can't create regulations, but all the money spent on it is embezzled for the American people. I just wish people would read the Constitution and understand that. However, sometimes they do the right thing. Back in April of 24, the Biden EPA put up rules to require uh certain coal plants to reduce their emissions by 90% by 2032, which basically moved them from coal towards things like natural gas to get their emissions down. Now, Zabbo noted that the Clean Air Act of 1970 gave the EPA the authority to set emission standards when there is adequate evidence and technology to support them.

He said the Biden's EPA never bothered proving that there was that the carbon capture technology was adequately demonstrated. He also false the Biden EPA for ignoring a Supreme Court decision in West Virginia versus EPA from back in 2022, where the court decided 6-3 that the EPA does not have the authority to broadly restructure America's energy sector by forcing power plants to shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. He also noted that even if we eliminate all greenhouse gas emissions from power plants tomorrow, there'd be no meaningful impact on global climate change.

So here you had the EPA, and again, they would just let the meat cake. We don't care. We're we're we're we are devotees of the religion of climate change, and we have to stop all this, regardless of the impact. What's the impact? Well, it's less electricity generation, which means you know, a lot of talk about AI data centers. What about the data center that your cell phone uses? You got a smartphone, you got an iPhone, an Android? Guess what? It uses data centers.

Oh, by the way, that that that smart TV you have, all those things, they depend on power. But I saw this and I haven't been able to prove the numbers. So take this with a grain of salt. But according to uh one person I heard uh in China, I forget, they're building like a new power, a new coal-fired power plant every month. And in China, electricity is roughly four cents a kilowatt. Why is that important? Because China is burning coal to get electricity at four cents a kilowatt to build solar panels that they then sell to Americans to get power at 12 cents a kilowatt. Now, don't get me wrong. I I I like clean air too, right? And I I b agree that these these power plants need to limit the the pollutants they put into the air, but carbon dioxide is not a pollutant, carbon dioxide is plant food.

Basic middle school biology. We learned that plants use photosynthesis to turn carbon dioxide into energy and oxygen. That's how uh uh plants grow. There's a reason why greenhouse gases pump in carbon dioxide, they keep the carbon dioxide level high because it helps plants grow. And there again, as he even pointed out, the impact of of uh of carbon dioxide from power generation is minimal on a global nature. And China certainly doesn't care. If they're building a new coal-fired power plant every month, they're not concerned about it, but they're getting the cheap energy.

Cheap energy does a lot of things, right? It lowers inflation, it lowers the cost of uh uh to let's say a grocery store to a refrigerated uh sections of the grocery store, to the lights that they have to turn on. Every business, you know, it impacts you personally, it impacts the businesses you deal with because they've got electricity for lights, they've got electricity for refrigeration, um, they use electric, you use electricity for your televisions, all your phones, all these things could operate cheaper with cheaper energy. So we need to find, I think, a reasonable balance. And the idea that, you know, oh, let them eat cake. We don't care about the negative impact of claiming we're gonna tell people you need to shut all this down. We don't have the legal authority, but we're gonna say it anyway. They don't care. And uh they they the again, the EPA believes, they haven't proven it yet, but they believe that just the rescission, just getting rid of this greenhouse gas regulation from the Biden EPA can save the American people over $300 billion.

Now, again, in the grand scheme of things, how much of that is how much is that? Well, if the population of the United States is about 330 to 350 million people, that's almost a thousand dollars per person that could be saved by getting rid of these regulations. See, we talk about the regulations, they talk about the regulations gonna do, they almost never talk about what the regulations are gonna cost. Let them eat cake. And here's another one. Now remember, we're not supposed to have an aristocracy in this country, but effectively we do.

Now, people were complaining about old people in office, right? They complained about Biden when his basic mind melted, right? And everyone saw it, but no one talked about getting him out of office, right? They did everything they keep they could to problem up him off. We talked about others that have been in in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and others. Well, it's not just Democrats, right? Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, I forget how long he's been in in office, but the the the man was he was looking like a vegetable. He would just like lock up like a like like a robot on a bad you know 50 sci-fi that would kind of lock up for a little bit before it kept working again.

And then of course he had a fairly major medical incident. In fact, uh according to some reports, um, he had a cardiac arrest. I I don't wish him ill. I wish him all the best in getting in his recovery. But I have to ask the question is he gonna run for office again? And if he does, will anybody in Kentucky vote for him? Now his staff sent out a press release where they included pictures of him during his his rehabilitation, but there's still no word on whether or not he plans to return to the Senate when they uh at any time at all.

They just don't know. And as I said, personally, I do hope he recovers. All right, I've I've dealt with family members with serious illnesses. My my father actually had a stroke about 20 years ago, and that was difficult, and it was hard and all that. And my father, of course, my father died about a year ago uh from other things. I mean, it wasn't it wasn't the stroke, but that's hard. And I I personally I wish him all the best. I I I'll pray for him that he recovers. But I have to ask the people of Kentucky is this really the man you want representing your state in the U.S. Senate? A man who uh at this point uh has has already shown evidence of of cognitive decline. I mean, it comes with age. I mean, Mitch McCollins is 85. I looked at him, he's he's 84 years old. Um that was the age my father was when he died.

Again, I'm not saying that he's dying. But with his his evidence of cognitive decline and now his health concerns, is this the person that you want uh representing your state? Is this fair? Is this kind to continue to ask a man with health issues like this to serve in the U.S. Senate? I mean, he's already been there more than 40 years. Is this really the person? I I don't care if he runs again. All right, the question is is he going to sh to show up again? If not, shouldn't he resign so that the governor can choose somebody to replace him? But the other question I have is is are are people in Kentucky going to continue to vote for him?

Why? Why, why to me, isn't that being cruel? You've got a man who's again, he's older, he's got the medical conditions. Wouldn't it be cruel to return him to office? Or do we simply put him up there because, well, he's a Republican, he's got all the seniority. Let them eat cake. We don't care if we get decent representation, that's our guy. I guess that let them eat cake isn't just for the the politician or the pundit. I guess it may be for the American people as well. I mean, how often do people support programs? Oh, it'll it'll feed the poor. Then I don't, you know, the they they use the um uh the Ebenezer Scrooge, right? My taxes pay for those programs, that should be it. Makes me wonder.

What are we really doing here? Makes me wonder. Is this let this let them eat cake mentality so ingrained in the American people now? I want what I want, the rest can just go eat cake. I don't care if it harms them or not. What's the old saying, Am I my brother's keeper? Again, when he when when a cane killed Abel, God asked, Hey, have you seen your brother? Hey, am I my brother's keeper? Well, maybe to a certain extent we are. Maybe not their keeper. But certainly we be shouldn't we be concerned about the impact our decisions have on others?

Because remember, in this country, we are still a republic. That means the people that are making these decisions were either hired by us or were appointed by people that are hired by us, and we cannot abdicate that responsibility because our preferred candidate didn't win. We have to participate, we have to be involved in this. And to me, that's an important uh that's an important thing, it's an important uh process, it's an important responsibility. If we do not want people that are will not show utter disregard for the impact of their decisions, then we need to hire better people. And how do we hire better better people if we don't vet them? You know, we've got an election, a midterm election coming up. How many of you have talked to a candidate?

Uh it doesn't need to be for federal office, maybe state office, maybe a local office. How many of you talk to them? How many of you have you gotten to know who they are and what their character is? I don't just mean listen to what they have to say, I mean look at what they've done. I asked the question show me where you fulfilled an oath that cost you something, that when it was hard, when it was difficult. And uh yeah, frequently my response, the answer I the response I get is a deer in the headlight look.

Because most people don't think that way, because most candidates aren't asked those types of questions, because most voters don't even think about it. They're concerned about, you know, will you will you support my program? Will you give me my goodie? I don't care about the consequence, just give me the goodie that I want. And we don't think about uh the people that we're actually hiring. And to me, that is a serious, that's a problem. It's a uh it's something that is part of uh self-governance that well, we've kind of educated ourselves out of the responsibility of doing.

I guess my point is if we don't want people that will make decisions that really don't care about their impact on us, we need to choose better representation. And that is up to us. No one else can have that responsibility. Now, before I go, you know, there are a lot of organizations out there that are fighting to take away your rights, to take away your right to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, free to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures, even to the right to due process. And sadly, you may be supporting them not directly, but by who you do business with. There are several companies I don't do business with anymore for the simple reason that I found out they support organizations that are attacking my rights. I don't buy their products, I don't buy their services, I avoid them at all cost. Now that also means that I'm looking for companies that believe what I believe and that put their money where their mouth is.

One of those is Patriot Mobile, America's only Christian conservative wallets provider. That's not why I joined them. Yes, I'm a Christian, and most people consider me conservative, but that's not why I joined them. I didn't join them for their 4G and 5G coverage. I didn't even join them for their 100% US-based customer support. I joined them because they share my values and put their money where their mouth is. They take a portion of every dollar they make to support organizations fighting for your freedom of religion, speech, press, for the rights we claim to be to hold most dear. They also support the sanctity of life, our veterans, and our first responders. You know what? They all now they support the constitution study, which means if you switch to PageRobile today, you can get free activation by using the code Constitution at checkout. Just go to patriotmobile.comslash constitution and find a plan that works for you. Find a discount that works for you, all right? Veterans, first responders, um members of certain organizations, even families with multiple lines, are eligible for discounts. And then use

    When the news starts hallucinating

The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – There’s been a lot of talk lately about Artificial Intelligence “hallucinating.” AIs can’t hallucinate; they aren’t conscious. But have you ever read or watched a news item and wondered if the report was hallucinating? While the New York Times claims it’s all the news that’s fit to print, many news stories there and elsewhere seem more like hallucinations...

The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – You may be familiar with the novel “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoevsky. $9 trillion later and the climate keeps changing – go figure!

The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – According to the so-called “experts,” we all should have sweated to death decades ago, but we haven’t. Do you realize that the world has spent $9 trillion dollars just since 2020 in a futile attempt to limit the rise in global temperatures? I say futile because they could not reach their goal of a rise of only 1.5°C. At best, they think they can limit it to...

Courts, maps and voter rolls: Who controls America’s elections?

The Constitution Study with Host Paul Engel – Ever since he took office, Donald Trump and his administration have been trying to meddle in the state voter registration system. Apparently, the fact that the Constitution places both holding elections and registering voters in the hands of the states, not the federal government, hasn’t prevented federal meddling in matters that aren't its purview...
