Or maybe… you’re tired of shrinking yourself just to feel safe? In this solo episode of A Really Good Cry, Radhi explores the quiet power of belief—and how the stories we repeat to ourselves shape the way we move through life. Inspired by a simple quote, “belief is magnetic,” Radhi reflects on the difference between chosen belief and fear-based doubt, and why learning to trust yourself can completely transform…

Speaker 1:So much of our life begins invisibly. A seed is still a seed before it becomes a flower. A prayer is still a prayer before it becomes an answer, and a dream is still a dream before it becomes your reality. Maybe belief is the part of us that knows how to see life before it has even finished becoming. Welcome to you a Really Good Cry Podcast. A Really Good Cry is here to help you understand your body, feel confident in your skin, manage your emotions, and take back control of your help. Because growth doesn't always start with answers, sometimes it starts with a really good cry. Hey, everyone, welcome back to this week's episode of A Really Good Cry.

Speaker 1:I hope that you've had such a wonderful week. You know. I've been looking at my for you page lately and it has been filled with quotes. It's something that I've been trying to curate because I realized that I get the most from reading them, and some of the other things that used to be on my for you page we're not necessarily helping me. And so now my whole for you page is all these beautiful quotes, you know, just ones that make me think, make my heart happy, make me laugh. And one of the things that I read was one line. It was really simple, but it's basically sparked the thought for this entire episode, and it is that belief is magnetic. And it really made me think, because I feel like we hear things like that and immediately we can put them into this category of manifestation or just positive thinking. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that belief isn't magnetic because the universe is randomly rewarding your thoughts. Belief is magnetic because what you believe literally changes how you move through the world.

Speaker 1:Believing in the magic of life is honestly what has got me through the difficult times Delusionally, believing in myself is what pushed me to do the things I never thought that I would do. But we're amazing and I am so happy in my life that I did them. And so I kept asking myself, like, what is life without believing in a little bit of magic beyond our own vision? I feel like we need that. Sometimes. Belief is honestly what carries you through the unknown moments, and the fact is you can actually start choosing the thoughts that support the life that you want, you can actually choose the thoughts that support the beliefs that you want to have. You have the power to do that, And so telling yourself simple things like you can do hard things, I can do hard things, I can do hard things whenever hard things come into your life, and reminding yourself that you are capable, even at the times your initial thought is that you actually are not. The more you believe, the more that you can actually begin to align your actions with that belief. It's like the more you tell yourself something, the more you're going to believe it right.

Speaker 1:And so the more thoughts that you can have based on the belief that you are trying to create, the easier it will be to lean into that belief and to start creating things around you that actually represent that belief and that can support it. And I think that's the part where someone's forget belief isn't just a nice thought. It becomes the way that you speak to yourself when things get hard. It becomes the way that you walk into a room. It becomes the way that you try again after something didn't work. It becomes a way that you hold yourself through the unknown moments. What is life if we only allow ourselves to trust what is already proven, already obvious, and already say. So much of what is beautiful in our lives begins invisibly. A seed doesn't look like a flower at first. A dream doesn't look like reality at first. A prayer doesn't always look like an answer at first. So sometimes the beginning of something miraculous looks like nothing is happening at all. And that is where belief matters so much. Your belief can carry you through everything, even when the outcome isn't clear, even when

Speaker 1:the path has not fully formed, when your mind is trying to convince you that you cannot. In those moments, you actually have this power to choose a thought that supports the life that you want instead of the one that shrinks you away from it. And the thing is, when you're telling yourself I can do hard things. I can do hard things over and over again, it's not that the hard thing suddenly becomes easier. Actually, what happens is you stop meeting the hard thing as someone who has already decided that they are incapable. Instead of going into it with defeat, you're going into it with this opportunity and this idea that this could be possible shifts completely the way that you are even interacting with that moment.

Speaker 1:A belief isn't just something that you think once. It's a thought that you've repeated enough times that your body starts to treat it as truth. It becomes more of an instruction. It starts telling you what to attempt, what to avoid, what feels safe, what feels absolutely impossible, what kind of love you think you deserve, how visible you allow yourself to be, and how much of your life you feel brave enough to claim. So, belief is a thought that actually has become a rule in your life.

Speaker 1:And this is why we have to be so careful with the beliefs that we keep repeating, Because if you believe you are always rejected, your mind will scan for rejection. If you believe you are behind, your mind will keep collecting evidence that everyone else is ahead. If you believe that things will never work out for you, even the small openings might go unnoticed because your mind has already decided what the story is. And once you decide what the story is, you're looking for evidence and the information to show that that story is the truth. When you begin to believe you are capable, You just move differently.

Speaker 1:When you begin to believe that life can support you, you notice all these little small openings or little signs instead of only the obstacles. When you begin to believe that you're worthy of something better, you stop tolerating the things that constantly make you feel small and look Belief does not guarantee the outcome. It's not a magical spell that you're doing. But it changes whether you even enter the room. It changes whether you send that email. It changes whether you ask the question or speak up, or begin again, or stay consistent, or walk away or soften or try that one more time. Two people can literally be given the same opportunity, and the one who believes I'm not ready will move completely different to the one who believes I can absolutely figure this out. The opportunity may be the same, but the belief creates a completely different version of the person meeting it. And honestly, doubt works in exactly the same way. Doubt is also magnetic.

Speaker 1:Doubt pulls you into hesitation. It makes you delay, It makes you overthink, It makes you ask for ten more signs when really you already know what the next step is. It can make you confuse your fear with intuition. Of course, doubt isn't always bad. Sometimes dou is information. Sometimes it asks us to pause and prepare and refine the plan or check out what our motives are. But doubt becomes really dangerous when it becomes part of your identity, when it becomes the place that you live from, or the voice that you trust more than hope. And that is where I think we have to understand the difference between force, positivity and chosen belief. Chosen belief is not pretending that everything is perfect. It's not denying your pain or acting like fear doesn't exist. Chosen belief is saying I don't know exactly how this will work out, but I am so willing to keep moving forward. It's saying I don't have proof yet, but I refuse to abandon myself. It's saying I can feel scared and still act. I can feel uncertain and still feel guided. I can have failed before and still be worthy of trying again. So belief

Speaker 1:is not certainty, but belief is this commitment that you have in the absence of certainty. So if you want to begin shifting your beliefs, you can't just repeat affirmations that your body doesn't believe yet. You actual have to start by becoming curious about the beliefs that are already running your life. You have to ask yourself, what do I believe about money, about love, about my body, about success, about my ability to change, about this ability to be seen, about being worthy? Whatever those thoughts are that are repeating in your mind, whatever those insecurities are, try and notice and observe what are those beliefs I've created around those things.

Speaker 1:It's not just about naming the belief. It's really about seeing whatever behavior is attached to it and how you move through the world because of it. So if the belief is, for example, I'm not disciplined, maybe the behavior is that you quick quickly, you avoid structure, you stop trusting yourself. So the new belief doesn't have to be I'm the most disciplint person in the whole entire world. That will probably feel really far away and maybe feel too scary to even get to. But the belief could be I can build trust with myself through small promises, and then every day you keep one tiny promise, and that is how belief becomes real. It becomes your evidence that you need, because the fact is your mind has spent years collecting evidence for this old belief, and so now you consciously have to collect evidence for the new one.

Speaker 1:So every time you keep that promise, every time you speak up, every time you recover faster, every time you choose differently, it becomes part of this new belief that you are creating. And the thing that's really magical about believing is that it really doesn't cost us anything, but the absence of it can literally cost us so much. It can cost us years of waiting and shrinking and hesitating and calling ourselves realistic and really we're just scared of hoping again. I've really noticed in my life that belief and believing in things that I cannot see yet is one of the softest forms of courage that I've had in my life. It doesn't ask anything from you except that you keep just that little crack in the doorway open inside of your heart, the idea that maybe life can still surprise me. Maybe my vision isn't able or capable of seeing what there is to offer. And I feel like there's something really sacred in this surrender of choosing to believe before the evidence comes, Because usually we wait for evidence and then we end up believing.

Speaker 1:But there's something to the surrender or the belief in something before you get to see the result, before the applause, before the thing has formed fully in front of you, and the feeling you get when the outcome does happen, The depth of that happiness, the depth of that excitement, the depth of the joy that you feel from having believed in it before you've even seen it. It's just completely different. I've experienced it in my life. It's so it feels so much more beautiful, it feels so much more meaningful because so much of our life begins invisibly.

Speaker 1:A seed is still a seed before it becomes a flower, a prayer is still a prayer before it becomes an answer, and a dream is still a dream before it becomes your reality. And so maybe belief is the part of us that knows how to see life before it has even finished becoming. And also, why would we choose not to believe, not in a naive way, but in a way that lets us stay open, in a way that keeps us from closing our hearts just because something hasn't happened yet. Disbelief actually just makes us smaller. You can either choose to limit yourself based on being a pessimist and based on choosing to believe only what you see in front of you, or you can choose to be optimist and believe that things are possible beyond your own expectations.

Speaker 1:And I honestly have found in my life having lived as both versions of those that the second believing in magic and believing in the possibilities of the world, you wander through life with a better perspective. You end up seeing the world differently. And yeah, it can hurt sometimes when you believe in things don't happen, but I think the feeling of not believing is far worse than the feeling of believing and it not happening. And I think having hope and belief is the anything that really keeps us going in life. And people might say, oh, but you have to be realistic, But what if having believe is part of reality. The fact is we end up receiving whatever we're putting out in the world. That's a fact.

Speaker 1:If you end up going out there with a bad attitude, yeah, you'll probably receive someone with a bad attitude because you're invite that into your life. And so the mere belief that what we are or what we think is what will become into our life, the mere understanding that who we are, what we believe, and what we put out into the world is what we will receive back. Just by knowing that it should change the way that we are moving through the world. And so I really hope that this encourages you to believe in the magic of life a little bit more and to give yourself the belief that you deserve the grandness of the life that you deserve and know that whatever you believe is what you get to create. And that's kind of exciting because then you realize what you have to work on is in the external world. It isn't trying to control and navigate parts of your life that you actually have no control over. It's putting in that focus and that work into how can I change the way that I am viewing the world? Because that you can control, those thoughts are things that you actually can impact. And so I hope that this episode was a little reminder of that,

Speaker 1:to believe in a bit of magic your life and the magic of things that are unseen, unheard and without evidence, And for myself Honestly, I think creating new beliefs or believing in more has just come with this simple mindset shift. As soon as I feel resistance in my life. So as soon as I notice resistance in my mind of I'm not smart enough to do this, or I really don't think I can make it through this, it's having that thought. That's fine, observing that thought, and then shifting it to what do I want to say to myself in this moment to make it through? And so I'll shift it to no, you are smart enough, you can handle this. You can do hard things. This is possible.

Speaker 1:And so it's almost letting that negative thought come to you, letting that restriction come to you, but then thinking, Okay, if I was to expand myself and if I was to create an expansive thought or sentence around this, what would it look like? And then repeating that after. It doesn't mean that those thoughts are going to go away, but you can observe them and you can correct them, and that's really where it all starts. So I'm going to leave you with this little thought. Believe not because life has given you proof, but because your heart deserves somewhere beautiful to walk towards. Why would you not believe in a world where seed becomes forests, wound become wisdom, and mornings keep arriving after the longest nights. Why would you not give your own life the same chance to surprise you. Belief is this bridge between what your eyes can see and what your soul already knows. And somewhere between fear and faith there is this tiny door, and belief is what opens it.
