Before plugging in a device, make sure it can handle the outlet's voltage.
Před připojením zařízení se ujistěte, že zvládne napětí v zásuvce. Do you have an adapter that would work for this? Máte adaptér, který by na to fungoval? What voltage are the outlets in Czech Republic? Jaké napětí mají zásuvky v ČR? When unplugging an electrical cord, pull it by the terminal, not the cord! Při odpojování elektrického kabelu jej tahejte za koncovku, ne za kabel! Electrical arcs are very hot and can cause damage to a plug.
Elektrické oblouky jsou velmi horké a mohou způsobit poškození zástrčky. Avoid electrical arcs by turning appliances off before plugging them in or unplugging them. Vyhněte se elektrickému oblouku tím, že spotřebiče před zapojením nebo odpojením vypněte. Volts times amps equals watts. Volty krát ampéry se rovnají wattům. Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the movement of electrons. Elektřina je forma energie vyplývající z pohybu elektronů.
Electrons are negatively charged particles found within atoms, which make up matter. Elektrony jsou záporně nabité částice nacházející se v atomech, které tvoří hmotu. Electric currents are the flow of electrons through a conductor, like a wire. Elektrické proudy jsou tok elektronů přes vodič, jako drát. Electrical conductors, such as metals, allow electricity to flow easily. Elektrické vodiče, jako jsou kovy, umožňují snadný tok elektřiny.
Electrical insulators, such as plastics, resist the flow of currents. Elektrické izolátory, jako jsou plasty, odolávají toku proudů. Electric circuits are paths that allow electricity to move from a power source to a device and back. Elektrické obvody jsou cesty, které umožňují elektřinu pohybovat se od zdroje energie k zařízení a zpět. Lightning is a natural example of electricity, caused by the discharge of built-up electrical energy in the atmosphere.
