Speaker 1:High Scrollers is produced on Gadigal land.

Speaker 2:We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of this country and elders past and present.

Speaker 1:Always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I'm Brittany Saunders.

Speaker 2:And I'm alright. Hey, and this is High Scrollers, the podcast version of your favourite group chat.

Speaker 3:We've been sharing our lives online for over 10 years, so who.

Speaker 1:Sorry.

Speaker 2:Yep, leave it all in. Coming up on this episode, we have a huge celebration and surprise right here in the studio for you. Plus, we're talking about... Brittany Spears. Oh, yeah, Brittany Spears. We're talking about Brittany Spears' son. I just tried a custard tart. You wait till you hear my reaction to that. Oh, my goodness. It is incredible. And Gay J has a huge surprise that has left this studio an absolute mess. Today's a crazy vibe. I don't know.

Speaker 2:It's all over the shop. You're going to love it. Deal me in, doll. Let's go.

Speaker 1:Good morning, Matthew.

Speaker 2:Good morning, Australia. Hello, the world.

Speaker 3:Actually, now that you mention that, I thought of something the other day, and I don't know if it was an original thought or if it's like the most stupid thing that I ever could have thought of, but I was.

Speaker 1:Feeling out of form. And you know how you feel.

Speaker 2:Riveting stuff.

Speaker 3:Yeah, filling out a form online and, you know, name, date of birth, email, address.

Speaker 2:Age, sex, location, ASL.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Remember back in the day?

Speaker 1:ASL, 13 female, Newcastle.

Speaker 2:But I always was so confused by ASL. Like, why do you need to know my sex?

Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2:And location, actually.

Speaker 1:Quite creepy.

Speaker 2:Age is fair.

Speaker 1:Quite creepy. And we were always like 12. Why are we asking those kinds of questions?

Speaker 2:I don't know. ASL. Anyway.

Speaker 4:On Habbo Hotel.

Speaker 1:Yes.

Speaker 2:I never played it.

Speaker 5:Didn't you?

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 1:You're missing out. Anyway, I got to the country selection.

Speaker 2:Yes.

Speaker 1:And I just had a little thought.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:We're from Australia.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:So it's A. It's at the start of the alphabet.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:And I thought we're so used to like it being there, like usually don't have to scroll.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:What about the people that are from countries and all the way at the end of the hour?

Speaker 5:Uruguay.

Speaker 3:Do they have to scroll all the way to the bottom? How privileged are we? We've never had to scroll to find our country. It is right there.

Speaker 2:Yeah. And you know, when you have to fill out the country and you, I always get confused by United States of America because they're U not A.

Speaker 4:Yeah.

Speaker 2:I look for America in A.

Speaker 1:Yeah. But I'm just like, we're like, All the countries that start with A.

Speaker 2:This is seriously the best podcast you've ever heard in your entire life. Honestly, like the most riveting. But it's just something I've never thought of. Crazy, crazy conversations happen here all the time.

Speaker 1:We are just, we don't even realize how lucky we are.

Speaker 2:Imagine if I was a listener of this podcast, I don't know how I would breathe without it because we are changing lives here every single day.

Speaker 3:Imagine having to scroll every time because on this same topic, Matt, I'm just noticing that I'm getting older when I'm feeling out of form.

Speaker 1:And the year that I was born is getting lower and lower. Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2:Sorry, I've totally just gone on a tangent here because I just realised last week we never gave another clue as to where I'm going. We totally forgot. Sorry, scrollers, but this has prompted me to give you a clue.

Speaker 1:What's your clue? Guess where Matt's going.

Speaker 2:If you're new here, by the way, I've booked a trip. I'm going somewhere. We've been given clues every week. Now, I will say that a few scrollers have guessed where it is.

Speaker 1:Guess what?

Speaker 2:What? Another tangent. Here we go.

Speaker 5:Come on.

Speaker 2:Keep up, people. Keep up. Keep up.

Speaker 6:Tangent alert. Tangent alert.

Speaker 3:I don't know where I was, but the other day I was somewhere and I ran into someone and they were asking me, they were trying to get me to tell them.

Speaker 1:And I said, I can't. Oh, and I was on a live as well. And people were like, tell us. I'm like, I'm not saying. Yeah.

Speaker 2:Well, I will give you a clue based off what you've just given us. Right. You've just spoken about scrolling to find the country. This week's clue is the place that I am going. You wouldn't have to scroll very far. To select.

Speaker 1:In the alphabet.

Speaker 2:If you had to select that country.

Speaker 6:Okay.

Speaker 2:So that narrows it down to only a few letters.

Speaker 3:Are you going to give them a clue, like is it in the first, are you going to say like it's in the first third of the alphabet or like the first half?

Speaker 2:Well, take that as you will, you know. You wouldn't have to scroll very far. Okay. I mean, I would say, I can't count how many letters. A, B, C, D, E, F. It's 26.

Speaker 1:Isn't there 26 letters? 26.

Speaker 2:Okay. It's in the first 10. There you go.

Speaker 1:Okay, there you go, scrollers. There you go.

Speaker 2:It's in the first 10, all right?

Speaker 1:This is a really good podcast, by the way.

Speaker 4:Should I read out one of the questions from?

Speaker 2:Oh, yes. What's one of the questions from the listeners?

Speaker 6:I can't believe we haven't asked this already. Someone has asked, is the destination in Australia?

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 2:I was waiting for how long it'd take for someone to ask that because everyone's been thinking, oh, the light's gone again. See, the lights are so bored they're going to sleep.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:But they are, it's been hilarious to wait this long because I, yeah, never once said I was going overseas and all these people picking all these places all over the world and you forgot about right here in our backyard. Well, the answer is yes, it is overseas.

Speaker 1:I thought you were going to say yes, it is in Australia. Yes, it's in another country.

Speaker 2:You're like, I'm so confused. Yes, it is overseas. So it's not in Australia and it's not something, you know, I'm not doing red herrings like it's the Whitsundays because you've got to go, you know, It's not in Australia.

Speaker 1:It's another country.

Speaker 2:It's another country. Fabulous. Well, we'll probably tell you next week, scrollers, if I'm honest, because I'm a little fucking over trying to think of clues without giving away like really obvious stuff. But anyway, look, I know we've been joking and there's been a lot of hullabaloo today, but to be fair, we actually do have a fabulous episode for you because we are doing another one of our Sweet, sour, spicy episodes, which replaces our usual Royal Flush, thanks to 7-Eleven, because any time is 7-Eleven time. And we actually have been instructed to basically not know anything that's going on in this episode. And Google Girls slash Gay J is about to tell us. Now, they've brought in, is this for this episode? Yeah. They've brought in a structure.

Speaker 1:I think I know what it is.

Speaker 2:It's like a crane. It's like a crane.

Speaker 1:I know what it is. Can I guess?

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 2:Can we explain to the scrollers first what's in front of us?

Speaker 1:Like describe what's going on.

Speaker 3:It's like a huge tripod with an arm coming across and it looks like something's going to hang from it.

Speaker 1:And I think I know what it is. Can you go out of the room, Gay J, and I'm going to guess and whisper?

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 4:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 4:This is not how I envisioned this to happen, but let's do it.

Speaker 3:Okay.

Speaker 2:Okay. I don't think you've given a good enough example.

Speaker 3:It's like a huge tripod that could be like a mini crane.

Speaker 2:Yeah, and the crane is like hanging above our heads. The end of the crane is hanging above our heads. Can we see this in the YouTube? Can they see this or not?

Speaker 1:It's hanging above the screen. Okay, this is what I guess it is.

Speaker 2:This is just bizarre.

Speaker 1:Because I don't want to ruin the surprise for Xander.

Speaker 2:Do you think Donut?

Speaker 3:No, I think it's like a big 7-Eleven neon sign or something like that.

Speaker 1:I think it's something to do with the branding of 7-Eleven.

Speaker 4:Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:That's what I'm guessing, but I hope it's a donut.

Speaker 2:Oh, no, because I'm sorry. Love 7-Eleven, but that's not as fun. I was hoping for a fucking piñata or something, you know?

Speaker 1:Okay, that's my guess. It's going to be, but I reckon it'll still be cool, though.

Speaker 5:Okay, okay.

Speaker 2:Well, that's good.

Speaker 1:Okay, so what are we going to do, Gay J?

Speaker 3:Because we have been told that we can't go outside because something's outside.

Speaker 2:Something's outside, and we've been instructed we've got to close our eyes.

Speaker 5:What?

Speaker 4:Well, I'm going to tell you.

Speaker 6:Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:Oh, no.

Speaker 4:No, I'm going to tell you why this is happening.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 4:And then I'm going to bring it in.

Speaker 1:Why don't you set it up and then we'll open our eyes?

Speaker 2:Okay, cool.

Speaker 4:I'll tell you why it's happening and then I'll bring it in. You close your eyes and.

Speaker 1:Then we'll do the thing.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 4:So, obviously, it's our third anniversary of the pod.

Speaker 2:Oh, is it?

Speaker 6:But this episode in particular is also... Our 300th episode.

Speaker 2:What the hell?

Speaker 1:I thought it was going to be something to do with 7-Eleven.

Speaker 2:No. Oh, what?

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 2:Sorry, 7-Eleven.

Speaker 1:It's about us now.

Speaker 4:No, we're in our third year and our 300th episode.

Speaker 2:This episode.

Speaker 4:So it's a big deal, guys.

Speaker 2:Oh, wow.

Speaker 1:Wow.

Speaker 6:So, I mean, Matt was like, can we get a cake? And I was like, well, we always do cakes and things like that.

Speaker 4:I was right. I'm going to be right.

Speaker 2:What is it?

Speaker 4:Well, do you want me to set it up and you close your eyes?

Speaker 1:Is it a piñata?

Speaker 3:It is a piñata.

Speaker 2:Yay!

Speaker 5:Oh, my God.

Speaker 2:That's what I guessed.

Speaker 4:I've got you a piñata.

Speaker 2:She thought it was a 7-Eleven branded life.

Speaker 4:I think it's a piñata.

Speaker 1:I thought it was going to be something for the 7-Eleven episode. Oh, my God.

Speaker 6:Now I've got you a piñata to whack the shit out of. For the 300th episode and third anniversary.

Speaker 5:Bring it in.

Speaker 1:Get the clown to bring it in.

Speaker 2:This is so funny.

Speaker 4:Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 1:Show the YouTube. Did you make this yourself?

Speaker 3:Yes.

Speaker 2:Go.

Speaker 5:Oh, my God.

Speaker 2:Oh, my gosh. I'm filming BTS. BTS. Well, no, that's my job. I've got to bash it. Go on. Hang it up.

Speaker 5:Let's.

Speaker 2:We're going to make a mess in here tonight. All right. Well, the pinata's been set up. We've got the high scrollers for all of us watching at home or listening and can't see. It's a nice colourful pinata with our faces on it. Going to bash our faces. It says 300 high scrollers.

Speaker 3:Hear me out, but I reckon we need another new profile picture.

Speaker 2:Do we? Yeah. Because that doesn't even look like us.

Speaker 1:And that's just too serious of me. I need to be more fun.

Speaker 2:Yeah. It's a bit businessy, isn't it? Yeah.

Speaker 1:It's a big, big business.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 6:All right.

Speaker 1:Well, you have the first whack.

Speaker 2:But I don't even look like me. I don't know what was going on that day. I think, did I have gastro that weekend? Like, I'm skinny as, like, the makeup is makeup I'd never done. Even the haircut. I'm like, that's the best.

Speaker 1:What is that face for?

Speaker 2:That is the best haircut I've ever had. And my hair has never looked that good again.

Speaker 5:What is wrong?

Speaker 6:I just realized that the pinata is blocking you both in the cameras.

Speaker 2:Oh.

Speaker 1:That's okay.

Speaker 2:So do we just hit it once or what?

Speaker 1:Yeah, give it a big whack.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 1:Be careful.

Speaker 2:Three, two, one. Fucking hell.

Speaker 1:Well, you said give it a big.

Speaker 2:I'm scared. Oh, my God.

Speaker 5:No, no, no.

Speaker 2:I'm going to get chopped here. This is going to take all day. Oh, my goodness. Okay. Whose idea was this?

Speaker 1:Have a few whacks.

Speaker 2:Okay. Wait, it's broken on that side, so I'm going to try and go that side again. Wait, okay. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Wait.

Speaker 5:This is ridiculous. Oh, a Turkish delight.

Speaker 2:That's my favourite.

Speaker 1:I love a Turkish delight.

Speaker 5:Yay!

Speaker 2:There we go.

Speaker 5:Oh, that's all empty now.

Speaker 1:Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2:I do not get paid enough to be here dealing with this.

Speaker 5:My God. We're just going to leave all this here for the whole episode.

Speaker 2:Well, there's a caramello koala.

Speaker 5:What?

Speaker 2:Caramello koala. Caramello koala, love. I'm having a caramello koala. Oh, you've bashed it. Look, its head's bashed in. Oh, its head's all bashed in.

Speaker 4:What's going on there?

Speaker 1:The head of the caramello koala.

Speaker 3:There's your podcast title, Xander. The caramello koala's head getting bashed in. Anyway, that was hilarious. If anyone's just listening to that, I don't know how that's going to sound.

Speaker 2:That is crazy work. Crazy work from you lot.

Speaker 1:Can we turn the air back on, please?

Speaker 2:Yeah, put the air coming on. We've done a workout there.

Speaker 1:You know what? I love a caramello koala. I reckon they're underrated.

Speaker 2:I think we need to stop eating on this podcast, too. All we do is eat.

Speaker 1:No, I'm here for it.

Speaker 2:That was... A journey that I was not prepared for for this early hour of the morning. But anyway.

Speaker 3:Let's get into our sweet and sour and spicy. Why did I say it like that? Sweet, sour and spicy.

Speaker 2:Also, have you ever heard the intro to that? No. It's him going sweet, sour, spicy. Really? Yes.

Speaker 1:I haven't listened.

Speaker 4:Sweet.

Speaker 1:Sour.

Speaker 4:Spicy.

Speaker 2:And who else, Rach?

Speaker 5:Britt. Oh, Brit.

Speaker 2:Okay, I thought it might have been Rach. Nice.

Speaker 1:Shout out to Brit.

Speaker 2:Shout out to Brit. Okay, so apart from the piñata dropping all over the ground, we've also had some 7-Eleven dropped in. So thank you, 7-Eleven, for sponsoring this episode. Anytime is 7-Eleven time. And I think we're going to do a quick whip and actually eat some of that, aren't we?

Speaker 1:Yeah, we'll save that for the quick whip.

Speaker 2:Stay tuned. Quick whip coming soon.

Speaker 3:Well, what do you want to start with, Matt? Because we always do it in order, I guess. Do we like sweet, sour, spicy?

Speaker 2:So what's your sweet of the week?

Speaker 1:Well, I thought we could start out with some therapy.

Speaker 2:Oh. Okay.

Speaker 1:Some free therapy.

Speaker 2:All for it.

Speaker 1:Have you ever been to a therapy session?

Speaker 2:Uh-huh.

Speaker 1:How did you like it?

Speaker 2:Not for me, but I've since learned that it's more about the therapist than you. It's you. Like, as in, if you don't connect with your therapist, it's your therapist's fault, not yours. Do you know what I mean? Like, I walked away from it going, therapy's not for me. It's not going to do anything. It was just the wrong therapist.

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Like, you got to shop around, but then who has time for that, you know?

Speaker 5:Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2:So if therapy doesn't work for you, not your fault is what my opinion is. But anyway.

Speaker 3:I have never been to therapy, but I think it's something that everyone probably could benefit from.

Speaker 1:But even though I'm not going to go, I found a Reddit thread. I'm trying to find how you.

Speaker 2:I think the world would be a better place if therapy was mandatory.

Speaker 1:Yeah, me too. Where do I find saved? Oh, there, saved.

Speaker 2:Yes, I'm assuming you are talking about that. You said it was on Reddit, but I've seen TikToks of people being like, everyone put in the comments. I saved it on TikTok. Do you want me to get that up?

Speaker 3:Did you? Yeah.

Speaker 1:And it was like, what's the thing that your.

Speaker 2:Therapist has told you that has changed your life? Put it in the comments. And there's just a bunch of people putting all of their.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Yeah. So can you all just post your therapist advice in the comments so I don't have to go? This is from Julianne. Julian Galasso.

Speaker 1:But I swear I saw a Reddit thread, but maybe I, oh no, I've found it.

Speaker 2:Sorry.

Speaker 1:We can read both.

Speaker 2:Yeah, great.

Speaker 1:So this was in the Reddit thread.

Speaker 3:And by the way, we've got a, that's a lot of sweets.

Speaker 1:Custard tart to go with the sweet.

Speaker 2:Lovely.

Speaker 1:So this is in.

Speaker 3:The millennials Reddit thread and it says, can y'all just post your therapist advice in the comments so I don't have to go.

Speaker 1:Is it the same thing on TikTok?

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:Well, it's probably the same thing. And I thought we could read some of them out and see what we think of what these.

Speaker 1:Therapists have had to say.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 1:You can't save other people from their choices.

Speaker 2:Yep. Agree.

Speaker 1:I agree too.

Speaker 3:But I think naturally a lot of us will always try and not want to like fully save someone, but you can see someone making poor decisions and try to give them advice and they never seem to listen. But that's because like you've got to let them make those decisions for themselves.

Speaker 1:So I agree on that one.

Speaker 2:They can learn their own lessons. This one says, you will never feel ready because ready isn't a feeling. It's a decision. Yes.

Speaker 6:Lovely.

Speaker 2:That's a bit of you, that one, I feel.

Speaker 1:That is a bit of me. People will always be like, I'll wait to do it on Monday.

Speaker 2:Why?

Speaker 1:You know? Why are you waiting?

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:I'll wait until I'm ready. I'll wait until.

Speaker 3:We use it as like an excuse to put something off. When I wholeheartedly agree, just rip the bandaid off and do it.

Speaker 2:Yep.

Speaker 3:Oh, this is a good one and something that we spoke about recently. Recognize your negative self-talk.

Speaker 5:Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3:Your brain is an echo chamber. Do people actually dislike you or do facts and actions of others prove otherwise?

Speaker 1:Apply logic here.

Speaker 3:I basically find a therapist wants you to throw logic at my thought process.

Speaker 1:AKA you are your own worst enemy in your mind.

Speaker 2:Yep. Inner saboteur. This one says people who are scared of spiders will see more spiders than people who are not. Yes. Yes.

Speaker 3:The same way, not in the same sort of thing, but when you think of a car or you learn about a car and then you see that car everywhere on the road.

Speaker 1:Have you ever done that?

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:And it's like, I've never seen these many Toyota Yaris's before. But if you're thinking of Toyota Yaris, you'll see more of them. Same thing applies with spiders.

Speaker 2:Yep.

Speaker 1:Another one, top voted. Be nicer to yourself in your thoughts.

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Well, this one is along the same lines. It says, The difference between intuition and anxiety is that intuition speaks in statements while anxiety speaks in questions. God, we've gone all woo-woo on this pod lately, haven't we? We have. We've gotten a bit oracle. This one says, don't love your job, job your love.

Speaker 1:Okay, here's a good one. Don't mind me, I'm just opening the custard tart.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. The point is that you did it at all, not that you did it to whatever exceptionally high standard you set for yourself. I am constantly reminding myself of this, this one every day. Otherwise, I kind of stopped functioning. Stop waiting for perfection before you start something.

Speaker 1:Just do it anyway.

Speaker 3:Figure out the rest as you go or do it better next time. That was me like adding extra context to that, by the way.

Speaker 2:Oh, this one's probably one to end on. It says the person who needs therapy doesn't go. Their victims do. True.

Speaker 1:Because we go to therapy because of other people.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Like in the things that they've done and said to us.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:What about people like me who probably should go but just doesn't?

Speaker 2:Lazy. Lazy, busy, blah, blah, blah. And this is a good one as well. People who aren't treating you well, they aren't going to treat you better if you work harder. That's true. So I'm trying to seek approval out of people. Who cares? Move on. Be nonchalant, as we've learned. If you didn't listen to Close Friends on Friday, by the way, you would have missed a whole bunch of spiritual nonsense that we are spewing here. It's been a very mindful few episodes lately, hasn't it? Fucking hell. Anyway, well, the next one, let's move on to actually the most exciting thing.

Speaker 1:By the way, this is so yum.

Speaker 2:Oh, I can't wait. Yeah.

Speaker 1:Like I'm going to eat this whole custard tart.

Speaker 2:Do you have something spicy for me? Because I need spicy because I'm going to talk spicy.

Speaker 1:Like spicy food? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We've got Flamin' Hot Cheeto Puffs.

Speaker 2:No. So this is my spicy of the week. I was mentioned on Influencer Updates AU and I've got a bone to pick because I actually went through my own therapy session with this whole thing. So Influencer Updates does this thing, friend of the pod, friend of the pod. We love Amber. We love Amber from Influencer Updates.

Speaker 1:But And Amber loves influencers, FYI, all you influencers out there.

Speaker 2:She does this thing where she says submit your anonymous things about influencers and I'll react them. Like if you've got any questions about influencers or you have any statements about influencers, just submit whatever you want to say about influencers and I will read them out in a podcast episode.

Speaker 1:Which, by the way, the things that I would do to be able to see all of those.

Speaker 2:I know. I know.

Speaker 1:I would love to.

Speaker 2:Surely all of the juicy ones she reads out. Yeah, true. So then she does like, I think a podcast episode reading them all out. So there was one about me and the anonymous person had said, all right, Hay thinks he's way bigger than he is. And at first I saw that, which I listened to the podcast episode and Amber's really nice. She goes, I think that's like his brand to be like big and loud. And, you know, like, and like say things like he, I'm the most famous person in the world. Like, cause that's like his brand, like he's leaning into it. It's just a bit of campery, right? Like, she was really nice about it, but that person wrote that.

Speaker 2:And I, first of all, my initial reaction was I looked at it and I went the fuck me out of everyone thinks they're bigger than they are. Like how many times have we spoken about on this podcast, how I underestimate everything that I do and everything that I achieve. I go, fuck, that's like such a surprise. Like didn't think like, you know, with the bring back glamour tour, like didn't think we'd sell out and then be able to put on more shows. And like, you know, especially with the shows in Geelong and stuff. And I made those videos about the ticket sales. And I say like, you know, when we put on the show in Geelong, it was 300 seats. And I was like, we will never fucking sell 300 seats in Geelong. And then we sold that show out in fucking Egypt. So, you know, I felt like I was always kind of, and this is the therapy session that I was having with myself.

Speaker 2:I feel like I underestimate myself a lot and don't actually acknowledge like the things that I do and have achieved. And then I think about other things as well, like, you know, the protein water collab with Muscle Nation and like selling that out within a week and like 3,000 fucking packets went in a couple of days or something like that. Do you know what I mean? Like this podcast being one of the biggest podcasts in Australia, we've just hit 300 fucking episodes, 30 shows around the country sold out. Like I started to sit there and I thought all these things that I've done, I always like underestimate myself. And then my mind actually flipped. And to that person who wrote, thinks he's bigger than he is, I say, first and foremost, I actually don't think you bitches give me enough credit. Because when I sat there and I actually added up everything that I've done and achieved in my 10 year career on the internet, I went, hang on a second. I've actually done more than I even realized myself. And I went, actually, I think everyone doesn't give All Right Hay enough credit for the things he's achieved in his career. So All Right Hay thinks

Speaker 2:he's bigger than he is. No, I think you don't realise that I'm fucking amazing. That's what I'd like to say.

Speaker 3:Period.

Speaker 2:Period. I was like, name another person who 10 years into their career is still doing what I'm doing, selling out 30 shows around the country. And I don't think I'm big. If I thought I was bigger than I was, I'd be booking the fucking Enmore and then wondering why it wasn't selling out. But instead we book smaller venues because we're sensible like that. Like I look at the data and I go, I'm only going to do what I think I can sell. And even still, we booked a few venues that I was like, we're never selling that many tickets. And we have. I'm constantly blown away by the things that I'm achieving. But then when this person said that, and I actually sat there and thought about what I've achieved, I then went, wow, it's actually so much more than I even realized. And I went, you know what? Actually, I think you bitches don't give me enough credit.

Speaker 1:Well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2:For everything I've done.

Speaker 1:What I have to say.

Speaker 2:What is that funny? Don't laugh at me.

Speaker 6:No, I'm laughing at you because I think you're funny the way you say things and do things.

Speaker 1:I have to say, um, Again, your mentality is your reality.

Speaker 3:So to someone that would say that, who cares if you think that you're the bee's knees.

Speaker 1:Because, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2:Which are manifesting.

Speaker 1:Yeah, exactly. We've been on this whole manifesting thing on the pod. If he thinks he is over a week, so be it.

Speaker 5:And you know what?

Speaker 1:I could be.

Speaker 2:Wait, that happens, scrollers. I reckon that you get a car. You get a car. Come on.

Speaker 1:By the way, that custard tart has polished.

Speaker 2:The whole thing. Yeah, lovely. I can't wait.

Speaker 1:It was like fluffy and creamy and delicious. Do you want yours, Gay Jay?

Speaker 4:I'll have mine soon, yeah.

Speaker 2:Okay. I don't know. All I'm saying is check the resume. I think I've done more than a lot. But the a lot are more famous. Does that make sense? Like if you weigh, like what I'm trying to say is if you weigh up me against all the other influencers, I know I'm like tiny compared to some of the massive names we have in this industry, right? And I always have been.

Speaker 1:But you've still done a lot.

Speaker 2:I've done more, I would say, than some of the bitches with a million followers. What are they doing? Lazy. I'm out here hustling. Check the resume, check the credentials. Sorry. Pat myself on the back for once in my life and say, you know what? Because here's the other thing. Even the fact that I'm sitting here on one of the top influencer podcasts in Australia, 10 years plus into my career is more than half those bitches could say that have started and failed a career on social media.

Speaker 1:And there's nothing wrong with failing.

Speaker 2:There's nothing wrong with failing, but. It's all about trying. I have to say thank you to that person who said, all right, Hay thinks he's bigger than he is because the journey I went on was worth more than therapy. And that's all I'll say on that.

Speaker 1:You heard it here first, everyone.

Speaker 2:And what's your sour?

Speaker 3:We've got a Warhead Atomic Fizz Extreme Sour Hard Candy with fizz inside.

Speaker 2:Yeah, yum. All these things from 7-Eleven. What's your sour? And while you talk about that, I'm going to eat the custard tart because now you've made me want to eat it. It looks so good. It's so yum.

Speaker 1:I've never had one of those from 7-Eleven.

Speaker 2:I didn't even think I've seen these before. Oh, you know who needs to do a review of this? Mishes Mishes. Mishes Misses Misses Misses. Remember Mishes Misses that you all thought I had a crush on?

Speaker 1:Yeah, the straight guy.

Speaker 2:Yeah, the straight guy that does custard tarts.

Speaker 1:Yeah, it's really good.

Speaker 2:Mishes Missions, listen up. You're going to have to try a custard pie, mate. Oh, you got one as well, KJ. Bloody hell.

Speaker 3:Okay, I've got a sour, but it's not like completely sour.

Speaker 5:Oh, my God.

Speaker 1:How good is that?

Speaker 5:Oh, my God.

Speaker 2:Oh, my God. Are they kidding me?

Speaker 1:I told you it was good.

Speaker 2:Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Oh, my God.

Speaker 3:Yeah, I'm not even joking when I said it was amazing. I inhaled the whole thing.

Speaker 2:Oh, my God.

Speaker 1:By the way, he's reacting to the custard tart, everyone.

Speaker 3:Now, Matt, be mindful when you eat that and have little bites and don't scoff the whole thing like me.

Speaker 2:No, I'll be inhaling it, darling.

Speaker 5:One bite.

Speaker 6:Okay.

Speaker 1:So my sour, it's not necessarily sour.

Speaker 6:That's crazy.

Speaker 1:Are you going to get emotional over that custard tart?

Speaker 2:I'm like not even a custard tart fan. Like if I went to, you know.

Speaker 1:What kind of dessert would you pick from like a bakery, a normal bakery if you had to?

Speaker 2:Like a vanilla slice. Oh, okay. Or no dessert at all. Yeah. So I'm not even like a custard tart person. That's. crazy this is this episode sponsored so i'm refraining from using language that i'd like to use but that's like i've never that's crazy and it's from 7-eleven i mean seriously who would have thought i'll be going every day any time is 7-eleven time am i right wow sorry continue with what you're saying My.

Speaker 1:Sour isn't necessarily really sour. There's one little part of it that I thought was just weird. Have you seen Britney Spears' son, Jaden? Mm-hmm. He's the new face of MAC Cosmetics Fix Plus Spray.

Speaker 2:Yes.

Speaker 3:I saw that all over my For You page. And the internet, as always, has been like up in arms about it. Half of the people are saying like, love this. Cause like, I feel like we have not seen much of Britney Spears as two kids. Like they have kept quite quiet considering their mom is Britney Spears. Like you think they would be super famous. Anyway, they're like quite old now, like maybe 18 ish. And they both walked on a runway. And now Jaden is the face of Mac fix plus spray. And so there's nothing sour about that really.

Speaker 1:But he said one thing in the interview that I just was like, what?

Speaker 3:So Fix Plus Spray, for anyone that doesn't know, it's like a makeup. I don't want to call it like a melting spray, but it's not a setting spray.

Speaker 2:Yes.

Speaker 3:You spray it on your face when you want your makeup to kind of melt together and.

Speaker 1:Look a bit more glowy and natural.

Speaker 3:Whereas I think a lot of people might automatically think it's like a setting spray, but it's literally not that at all.

Speaker 1:So that's my first sale when people think that.

Speaker 2:Which I think people should talk about that more. I once learned from a makeup artist that she would use Fix Plus to clean her brushes in between. Huh? Like as in, you know, if she's doing like a light blue and then she wants to go to a purple and then black to a light blue, she'll spray it on a makeup brush and put it on a tissue.

Speaker 1:Really?

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Like she uses like a brush cleaner.

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 1:That's random.

Speaker 2:I don't know.

Speaker 1:There you go.

Speaker 2:And so. You can also use it to take it off.

Speaker 1:Your makeup.

Speaker 2:Spray fix plus.

Speaker 1:And then wipe it.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Because it melts your makeup.

Speaker 2:But it's not a setting spray, but I feel like people don't know that.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 3:And so the internet was like sweet and sour about seeing Jaden be the face because.

Speaker 1:It's quite random and it's like not a makeup product. It's a spray. People saying like, why is he the face? You know, like make it.

Speaker 2:Which why is he the face? I don't know.

Speaker 1:He's just done like a campaign with them.

Speaker 3:And everyone's been saying like how much he looks like Britney, like in the images he's putting his face down. And there's like another photo of Britney with her face down. They look exactly the same. But the one thing that got me was he did this interview with Mac, like for a social clip. And he says in the clip where he would use Fix Plus. But he's just being interviewed. He's like, hey, I'm Jaden James. I'm on set, blah, blah, blah. And then they ask, like, where would you use it?

Speaker 3:And he says, like, when his face needs a refresh, whatever.

Speaker 1:And then he said, after a workout.

Speaker 2:What?

Speaker 5:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Who approved that?

Speaker 2:So I'm Googling. And because I said, why is he the face of Fix Plus?

Speaker 1:I think it's because they're stepping into stardom.

Speaker 2:What does that mean? Like I think he's just trying to do something.

Speaker 1:Their sons are like going to become famous.

Speaker 3:Like obviously they're already famous, but I think like, you know, they're starting to become mainstream famous.

Speaker 2:So it's telling me here that his girlfriend handles his skincare routine and he says he likes Fix Plus as a bit of hydration.

Speaker 1:Yeah. And in the video, it just made me go, huh?

Speaker 2:I think someone like the gay intern at Mac has gone, oh my God, He uses our product. Let's put him on the face. Let's put him as the face. You know what I mean? They're panicked.

Speaker 3:I think it's kind of iconic, but it also kind of doesn't really make sense.

Speaker 1:But every, I mean, everyone's talking about it. So that's the whole point, right? Yeah.

Speaker 3:But I just didn't understand when he said that one line of he would use it after a workout. Why, when you're sweaty and you've done a massive workout, would you need to apply a makeup melting spray?

Speaker 2:I think it's just a hydration spray though, right? So after a workout, he's just cooling himself down with it. Like what's in Fix Plus? Like I'm, Go Google girl. What's in Mac fix plus please. Because I'm, I'm getting nepo baby from this because it makes no sense. And this is when I have a problem with nepotism, right? Because everyone goes, Oh, nepo baby, nepo baby. I don't care if your parents are famous and you become famous because your parents are famous.

Speaker 1:I wish I was a nepo baby.

Speaker 2:Yeah. I wish I was a nepo baby too. And props to anyone who is a nepo baby. But then it's like, okay, this is the nepotism that I don't like because why? Like if this was a really, say he, he loved soccer and became the face of the fucking world cup. I don't know.

Speaker 1:It makes more sense.

Speaker 2:It makes sense.

Speaker 3:Whereas this would have been like a male makeup artist who loves MAC and has used it for ages. Whereas this is a makeup brand that yes, MAC has skincare too, but yeah, it does feel kind of random. And that's what was all in the comments everywhere was like, love this for him. And they're finally like, you know, making their own money because there's the whole debate about like, The whole family's been using Britney for her money, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 3:But yeah, it kind of doesn't make sense. But I just was confused when he said after the gym. I'm like, when you're all sweaty, you're just going to like spray your face?

Speaker 2:Well, it's interesting because I want to go back to Google to see what we actually have in Fix Plus because that'll determine whether it's what we think it is.

Speaker 4:So it says.

Speaker 6:Water and glycerin-based hydrating mist infused with botanical extracts, vitamins and minerals.

Speaker 2:So it's a water spray. What's glycerin?

Speaker 4:I think that's like a... Okay, let's Google that too.

Speaker 2:Shane, what the fuck is glycerin? I saw a thing the other day that was like, thank God for the gay that sits off... What was the thing?

Speaker 4:I sent that in to the scroll.

Speaker 2:Oh, yeah. What did it say?

Speaker 4:The dream job is Googling stuff. The guy just sits off camera Googling.

Speaker 3:So, yeah, I thought the one line about after the gym was a little bit sour for me, but the whole internet has been divided on him being the face.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 4:It's a clear, odorless and sweet-tasting sugar alcohol.

Speaker 2:So, it's literally... Yeah. I don't know whether that's in fixed past though. Surely not. Who knows? But the point is, it's literally just water in a bottle, really. It's really just a bit of water, a bit of sugar and away you go.

Speaker 1:But as if, like, it's expensive.

Speaker 3:You're going to keep that for when you're doing your makeup and you want your makeup to look good.

Speaker 1:Surely after you've done sweaty.

Speaker 3:F45, you're not going to get a bottle of $ 40 spray out and spray your face.

Speaker 2:Well, if you've got enough money, you might. True. I mean, some people... won't spend money on a smoothie, but some will spend $ 40 on a smoothie at Air One.

Speaker 1:I have done that before.

Speaker 2:Yeah, same. So, you know.

Speaker 4:Many times.

Speaker 2:You know, it's all about, huh? Balance. It's all about balance. It is about balance. You know what I want to talk about? The fumble of the century. Yeah. And that is talking about setting spray, Urban Decay. Remember Urban Decay had the all-nighter setting spray and that was in collaboration with Skindinavia who actually had the patent of the formula of the setting spray. Or Urban Decay obviously made it famous. It was, you know, 10 or so years ago, every beauty YouTuber, everyone was using it.

Speaker 1:Every makeup artist.

Speaker 2:It became like the best setting spray in the world. And then Urban Decay said, actually, we want to, I think it was to do with cut costs or something. And they were like, goodbye, Skindinavia. We're just going to do our own formula. But because they couldn't do the patented formula because Skindinavia owned that, they just had to do something similar that did not work as well. And everyone was like, what the hell is going on? Fumble of the century, Income Emco Beauty, Jupe Queens, who just rip off absolutely everyone. And they've actually teamed up with Skindinavia now and has the patent in the new formula. Aldea?

Speaker 2:Is that what they're calling it? Aldea?

Speaker 3:Yeah, and I'll tell you, this is like really random of Emco Beauty because they are known for just allegedly straight out copying other brands.

Speaker 2:You heard that? That was my nail snapping. Anyway, sorry.

Speaker 3:Like Emco were notorious for just.

Speaker 1:duping, but they've actually collaborated.

Speaker 3:Yeah. Like I feel like it's kind of random of them because I thought they would have just came out with an all dayer and like done it themselves. But the fact that they've teamed up with Skindinavia, it's like random of Emco.

Speaker 2:Yeah. Haven't they just gone through changes and stuff though? And what the fuck was that chocolate watermelon collab they did?

Speaker 1:I never tried it.

Speaker 2:Cookery. I'm not. I'm not about it. But anyway.

Speaker 1:Well, anyway, Matt, I just want to keep eating.

Speaker 5:Okay.

Speaker 2:Well, we'll do a quick whip and we'll eat in there.

Speaker 3:Okay.

Speaker 2:Okay. So thank you for listening, scrollers. We'll see you. In the quick whip, whenever that goes live. Are you going to eat one of those real spicy Flamin' Hot Puffs?

Speaker 1:Yeah, I've already had one.

Speaker 4:They're delicious.

Speaker 2:Bloody hell. Thanks to 7-Eleven sponsoring this episode of the podcast. Don't forget, any time is 7-Eleven time. And go and get yourself one of those custard tart stuff. I'll tell you what, that was crazy work from them. Anyway, darling, better let you go. I've got to go and clean up the studio because there's piñata stuff everywhere.
