Speaker 1:Welcome to Pod Meets World.

Speaker 2:I'm Danielle Fischel.

Speaker 1:I'm Ryder Strong. And I'm Will Friedle.

Speaker 3:Welcome to Pod Meets World. We have a very special event today. An interesting way to open the show. Yeah, I believe, well, there's someone missing. And the reason that that person is missing is because we are incredible at drafting.

Speaker 1:And we made a bet. And we made a bet. Yep.

Speaker 3:And she is sticking to it. We got to decide what Danielle Fischel is wearing for today's episode.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:I think we picked pretty well, frankly. And we have not seen this. We haven't seen it yet. We have no idea what Danielle Fishel is going to be.

Speaker 4:Well, we know what she's going to be showing up in because we picked it, but we don't actually know what it's going to look like, which is why she's not here.

Speaker 1:I have a feeling she's going to manage to make it stylish. Of course, it's Danielle.

Speaker 3:You think it's going to be like, oh my God, she looks terrible. There's going to be like internet memes based on how good she looks.

Speaker 4:Yeah, 100%.

Speaker 1:All right, we're going to close our eyes and wait for Danielle Fishel. All right, we're closing our eyes. Here we go and wait for Danielle. I'm actually keeping my eyes closed. I am too. My eyes are closed. They're closed. They're closed. I can't wait to see this. Tell us when. Let me see.

Speaker 3:You went like psycho killer burlap sack.

Speaker 2:This is not how.

Speaker 1:I pictured it at all. This is like a horror film. I just, you need a machete and. Your face is super disturbing, actually.

Speaker 3:You look like Scarecrow from Batman.

Speaker 2:That's what you guys did.

Speaker 1:Are you going to keep the face on the whole time? I feel like that's a little.

Speaker 2:Would that bother you, Ryder?

Speaker 1:Yes, that would really bother me.

Speaker 2:Okay, I will take the rope off of my neck.

Speaker 1:We were saying she's going to manage to make it look sexy. I was like, she's going to come in in some sexy burlap sack. It would be like sexy burlap sack outfit. Oh, my God. Proved you wrong. Yep. You still got the nice shoes, though.

Speaker 2:It was a Halloween costume.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 2:It was going to be easier.

Speaker 1:Burlap sack man?

Speaker 2:It was going to be easier to have a two-piece than to try to turn an actual... Is it hot?

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:You know what else is actually hot is that I'm wearing a sweatshirt and jeans under it.

Speaker 1:Well, that was... Yeah, that was weird.

Speaker 2:This was poor planning.

Speaker 1:Although I imagine naked under a burlap sack would suck.

Speaker 2:Yeah. That's kind of what I thought.

Speaker 1:Chafing hypnics? Yeah. Nippies? What are they called?

Speaker 2:What is the word?

Speaker 1:They're part of the no-go. We have the no-go list. I don't have it with me. How do you guys manage to.

Speaker 2:Bring up the no-go list on every episode of every podcast we do?

Speaker 1:Which one is it? Nippies or Nip Nips? I can't remember. I think it's Nippies. I think it's Nippies. But yeah, you don't want to chafe the Nippies.

Speaker 4:No.

Speaker 2:No, I didn't even want my skin to be this exfoliated.

Speaker 1:It was just... Yeah, this is... Well, this is... I would say, argue that you'd pick better episodes.

Speaker 2:Well, should we.

Speaker 1:You don't want to be in this position.

Speaker 2:To remind our dear audience, I am wearing this burlap sack because I lost the seventh season. Actually, it was an all-encompassing, all-seven season of Boy Meets World draft.

Speaker 4:You did.

Speaker 2:I lost.

Speaker 3:Who?

Speaker 2:Ryder believes he came in first. Ryder came in first.

Speaker 1:I think so.

Speaker 2:Will came in second.

Speaker 4:I think that's what it was. We just knew you were going to lose at that. That's really all we cared about.

Speaker 2:That's really all you cared about.

Speaker 1:Have you thought about what you would have put us in had we lost?

Speaker 2:Um, I probably, I really do think I would have gone, now it would have been two of us working. Right, right, right.

Speaker 1:You guys sell sports ball for me.

Speaker 2:I probably would have made him wear a full NFL.

Speaker 1:Yeah, with the, like the pads and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2:Uh, welcome everybody to Pod Meets World on Disney Plus. I'm Danielle Fishel.

Speaker 1:I'm Ryder Strong.

Speaker 4:And I'm so comfortable in this outfit. It's just not hot at all.

Speaker 1:I'm Will Friedle.

Speaker 2:We got a message, a couple messages on our Instagram.

Speaker 4:Okay.

Speaker 2:Of people who were bummed that our Pod Meets World on Disney Plus podcast didn't have pre-show chatter.

Speaker 1:I'm sitting up.

Speaker 2:And we have, yes, definitely make yourself look more flattering. Well, no, I'm.

Speaker 1:Trying to get, because you're like, I'm back here and you're there and you're turning this way and it's hard to turn in burlap.

Speaker 3:Okay.

Speaker 1:So there, yeah, there we go.

Speaker 2:How's this look?

Speaker 3:Does it look good?

Speaker 1:You're still rocking it.

Speaker 4:Thanks.

Speaker 2:Um, so there were some people who were bummed about our lack of pre-show chatter. And we have done this before on our audio podcast where we do what you call.

Speaker 1:Oops, all berries. Oops, all berries. Which is a reference to some. It's a cereal. It's Captain Crunch. Where they just did.

Speaker 2:Yeah, it was Captain Crunch. Then they did Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries.

Speaker 1:And then it was. So in this case, Jensen was drunk all week and they just. And we just did Oops, all berries. Oops, all berries episode. Yes, exactly. Exactly.

Speaker 2:So between the launch of our first real foray into video podcasts and the start of Girl Meets World recaps, we have not had a lot of time to catch up. I thought it would be a good idea for us to sit down for this Oops All Berries episode where we take the aimless, chaotic, unhinged conversation you usually hear for the first 10 minutes of Pod Meets World and somehow we transform them into a whole show today. We have absolutely no idea where these conversations are going to go.

Speaker 2:We don't pretend to. But I did want to start today by introducing you boys. Well, perhaps, Ryder, you already know about the squish.

Speaker 1:Yes. Okay.

Speaker 4:Well.

Speaker 2:Will has absolutely no idea.

Speaker 1:I don't. Not to be confused with the ick. Nope. Yeah, that's different. The squish. You get the ick.

Speaker 2:These are squishies. I have also become completely obsessed with them.

Speaker 3:Really?

Speaker 2:These are a few samples.

Speaker 1:Can I grab a squishy?

Speaker 2:You sure can. There are many different types.

Speaker 1:They are a.

Speaker 2:Sensory toy.

Speaker 1:Which didn't exist before. Like this whole idea of like.

Speaker 3:Fidget spinners or tactile things like that was not a reality that anybody acknowledged until 10 years ago.

Speaker 1:Right.

Speaker 4:But we were doing it without even knowing it. For instance, I would always chew a pen or tap a pen or flip a pen. But that was a bad habit.

Speaker 1:You would be smoking a cigarette. Yeah, I smoke. No, but I feel like.

Speaker 3:All of those things, they were annoying to other people if you did them. Like if you tapped a pen or sucked on a pen.

Speaker 4:I remember we'd all sit on a couch like this to get notes and I would always be like this and about five minutes in, Bill Daniels, I always sat next to Bill, Bill's hand would just go.

Speaker 1:And I was like, oh, sorry, like I didn't realize.

Speaker 2:So I feel.

Speaker 1:Like this is like the version of this. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4:Right.

Speaker 1:Where it's what I'm, yeah.

Speaker 3:But it's also been part of this whole like developmental acceptance of like, oh.

Speaker 2:Neurodivergence.

Speaker 3:Neurodivergence is like, oh, if you have something in your hands, then you'll be maybe more calm about, you know, doing something else.

Speaker 1:Oh, I prefer the remote.

Speaker 2:You like the remote better.

Speaker 1:Okay. Oh, no, I don't know. Actually, now I'm kind of digging, pulling on my carrots. What?

Speaker 2:You're not allowed to pull on your carrot. I am too.

Speaker 1:I'm doing it right now. Now it's gross. Like now just watching you do that is gross. What if I look at you like this when I do it?

Speaker 3:Smell that one.

Speaker 2:That one has a scent.

Speaker 1:The smelling thing?

Speaker 3:Smell it.

Speaker 1:Yeah. Smell it, Ryder.

Speaker 2:It smells good.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:That one does. He didn't want it to smell good.

Speaker 3:So I know kids who have gone through like with their squishies that they've carried.

Speaker 2:Around for a long time.

Speaker 1:Yeah. And it gets, stop it, Will.

Speaker 3:It gets to that point where it's like. it's genuinely dirty and like, well, you don't want.

Speaker 1:A dirty squishy.

Speaker 2:They also have a little bit of stickiness to them.

Speaker 1:So if you drop them.

Speaker 2:On the carpet, so does that one have a.

Speaker 1:Lot of air? This one is like a ball within a ball.

Speaker 2:So there's like, it's like.

Speaker 1:A squishy area. Yeah, I guess it's air.

Speaker 2:So you can, you can use a safety.

Speaker 1:It feels like a boob gone wrong.

Speaker 2:Oh, I see. Yeah, you're right. Some of the, some of the.

Speaker 1:Here, take the, uh.

Speaker 4:Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1:Kool-Aid man. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2:So if you get too much air... No, see, this is just annoying.

Speaker 1:This is just like.

Speaker 2:This is a lot of air. You can use a safety pin to pop a hole in it to let some of the air out.

Speaker 1:What?

Speaker 2:And then it would not have... It wouldn't be so bubbly like that. But they have all different types. There are different brands. There's RMS. There's Neato. They have Slow Rise.

Speaker 1:They have.

Speaker 3:You see these, they actually have stands now that just sell them.

Speaker 1:When you go to a museum or whatever.

Speaker 2:I was going to say the mall.

Speaker 3:But when you're outside and they're selling you popsicles and.

Speaker 1:Whatever, they now sell squishies everywhere. And the kids love them.

Speaker 2:They obsess over them. The other thing that I really like about them is that they're not expensive. They're $ 5 or so. And so as far as obsessions for your kids go, it's one of the less expensive.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Oh, that's cool. I like that one. They also have little games. So one of our family's favorites are these dumplings. And they come in a dumpling case. And the hope is that you get a glittery dumpling case. okay and so there's a little bit of an element of mystery and surprise i like.

Speaker 3:That because i don't think i like squishies in general really well i just find.

Speaker 1:It weird i will never unhear glittery dumpling but see like if there's a game then it kind.

Speaker 5:Of makes sense to me like we're all doing something i brought one for you don't open it yet okay.

Speaker 3:But like the idea of like just sitting by yourself and like squishing.

Speaker 2:Your thing i've never seen it quite so clear yeah look at that stuff supposedly don't open that.

Speaker 5:Yet let me see that just looks like you broke something but i didn't supposedly the stuff inside is non-toxic um let's find out and here's the other thing is that i did hear a story about somebody who left their dumpling in their car And then they got into it.

Speaker 2:It had been sitting in the car all day. And they went to just go squeeze it like they always do. And it popped. And the liquid inside was very, very hot. So there are some safety things.

Speaker 1:So they burned themselves as well. Correct.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 2:So don't keep it in your car. Anyway, these are the dumplings. And so let's open them up and see what we get. Doesn't that smell good?

Speaker 1:I don't even know what smell that is.

Speaker 2:I don't either. Oh, you got an orange. Look at his little face.

Speaker 1:That's very cute.

Speaker 2:I got a blue. Let's see, Will's gonna get a glitter.

Speaker 1:Oh.

Speaker 2:I got a pink one. This one's pure water. So this isn't like the, this isn't like the, jelly stuff like the other one. This one's got water inside.

Speaker 1:So there's no point to these, correct?

Speaker 2:No, it's like a stress ball because that's what I was going to say.

Speaker 1:Which is kind of what I don't like. I want there to be a point.

Speaker 4:Well, I mean, do you remember Ben, were they called Ben, Benoit balls? What are the ones, what are the, that might be a sex thing.

Speaker 1:What are the, what are the ones, what are the ones that you do that you have one and two in each hand and you go around each other? Because there's the other type that you put inside of yourself.

Speaker 3:Those are the other type of, yeah.

Speaker 1:What are those called? I don't know. Now I'm afraid of everything I just said.

Speaker 4:But there's the really relaxing.

Speaker 1:Right.

Speaker 4:Yeah.

Speaker 3:I guess that bothers me less because it's made of metal. There's something about the plastic, like weird chemical.

Speaker 2:Stop.

Speaker 1:It just makes me uncomfortable.

Speaker 3:I'm always like, I'm afraid it's going to burst and it's got some weird stuff that's going to like.

Speaker 1:You just can't help yourself. But you hand me a toy. I instantly become 12.

Speaker 2:Right. Yes, that's true.

Speaker 1:I mean, it's just how I think. I think the carrot's my favorite.

Speaker 2:I like the slow rise ones the best. Yeah, the slow rise. I like those a lot. And they make them smaller. So neato makes a slow rise.

Speaker 1:Like neato? Like neato. N-E-E-D-O-H. You know what I love as a kid? Oobleck. Do you remember making oobleck? Did you ever make oobleck? Wait, what is oobleck?

Speaker 2:I do remember it, but what is that?

Speaker 1:It's like a.

Speaker 3:Sort of more natural version where you're not like, it's just like flour and water. But you do it at the right ratio.

Speaker 1:Oh no, cornstarch. Cornstarch, flour, and water.

Speaker 3:And so what you get is this really, it's kind of like slow rise. It's like a liquid that if you go slow, you can dip into it easily. But if you hit it hard, it hardens up. So you go like bam, bam, bam, and then your fingers sink into it. Oh my God, it's the coolest stuff.

Speaker 1:I just like Play-Doh.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Little Play-Doh. Silly Putty. Remember Silly Putty? Yeah. It would bounce all over. It was actually originally made as an industrial cleaner. It was to clean fireplaces. And then they were like, this is actually picking up comic books and stuff like that. Right, that's what I remember. It's like you would make a copy of like, yeah.

Speaker 4:Because it was supposed to pull all the dirt off of industrial fireplaces.

Speaker 1:Yeah.

Speaker 4:I love things that become other stuff.

Speaker 1:I know.

Speaker 2:I just think, I do appreciate at least that, like we mentioned, the fact that the acceptance of neurodivergence and these types of things helping people, because we did used to have stress balls. That's what they called the thing that you would- This totally relaxes me. It does me too.

Speaker 1:Yeah, this totally relaxes me. I love this.

Speaker 2:I like it. I really like the small ones. So Nito also makes some that are, they call them like- They're kind of fuzzy, but they're not fuzzy. It's basically, you know, like how the Cushling, the Cushlings, you know, the like rubber band material, it's a ball covered with short little rubber band materials. Like that's what feels really soft and it's slow rise. So it's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, tactile with the little furry and slow rise. And it's great.

Speaker 1:It's like, you can see the inside stuff again.

Speaker 3:So here's my question with all the like neurodivergent stuff or like the fact that kids do this, does it make it better?

Speaker 1:Does it calm? I think it probably calms you. Or does it just become like an addiction.

Speaker 3:Like it's a new thing that you always need and you want more? I'm assuming it makes it better. Otherwise, we wouldn't be making all this product. I can't tell you that I miss the carrot already.

Speaker 2:Do you?

Speaker 1:Do you miss the carrot? I do miss the carrot.

Speaker 2:Do you want the carrot back? No, I'm fine.

Speaker 1:The peach is fine. Is it a peach? It's a peach.

Speaker 2:Yeah. I mean, I would imagine it's helpful for the people who need it and probably distracting in class for people who don't. You know, depending on which one, like if you're bringing a giant carrot, hitting me with the boob.

Speaker 1:If you're hitting you with the boob gone wrong.

Speaker 2:Uh-huh.

Speaker 1:Boob gone wrong.

Speaker 2:Boob gone wrong. Boob gone wrong.

Speaker 1:I don't know, boobs are like pizza.

Speaker 2:Now it's starting to look like a scrotum.

Speaker 1:That's the problem.

Speaker 4:Oh, man.

Speaker 2:This is very strange.

Speaker 1:We can't trust you with anything. Everything about this is very strange.

Speaker 4:This is why Oops All Berries episodes don't always work out well.

Speaker 2:No, they really don't necessarily.

Speaker 1:I can just sit here and squeeze this all episode.

Speaker 2:Do you know that people line up for them outside of Target at the few moments before they open at.

Speaker 1:8 a.m.? Because they're like collecting collectibles?

Speaker 2:They don't make a ton of them. So it's not just collectibles. It's that in order to get them, they are so popular. You can go into the mall or the museum and buy like one for $ 20 or $ 25. But they're actually only like $ 5. And that's kiosks and are really upcharging for them.

Speaker 1:What are the other things that everybody's buying?

Speaker 4:They're little weird looking troll things that they hang bamboozles or something.

Speaker 2:Oh, are you thinking of?

Speaker 1:Labooboos? Labooboos.

Speaker 2:Those are gone.

Speaker 1:Bamboozles is actually exactly what they should be called. Have you been bamboozled by a labooboo? Yeah, because I'm like, what the hell are these things?

Speaker 3:Yes, because people spend so much money and you have to get like the right one with the box that has the like the label.

Speaker 1:I mean, this is all just essentially these are all just new pet rocks. Yeah, from back in the day. Yes, but I think these have this argument that there's something like- There's a therapeutic value to these. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can feel it. Again, if somebody deals with anxiety, I could do this all day.

Speaker 2:Did anyone just get a whiff of Raid?

Speaker 3:No. Are you about to have a stroke?

Speaker 2:No, but I think it might be my burlap sack.

Speaker 4:You never want a smelly sack, Danielle.

Speaker 1:It's the worst thing. It's the worst. When you can smell it. I'm going to go home today. Alex is going to be like, how was your day? Oh my God.

Speaker 2:Smell this.

Speaker 1:Smell it. Smell it. Smell it. Oh Jesus. That's so toxic. That's what I'm saying. That's glue. That is toxic glue. Let me see.

Speaker 3:It smells like, it smells like super glue or like it should not be leaking.

Speaker 2:Will?

Speaker 1:No. Will's getting high. What? Oh wow. That was weird. Yeah, that doesn't smell. Yeah, that one is leaking. Oh, my God. I just got a little bit of a buzz. Are you serious? No joke. I just got a little bit of a buzz. Let's get high on glue. That'll be our episode. We cannot do old strawberries. Oh, my God.

Speaker 3:Terrible.

Speaker 1:You're going to be tough tonight. Oh, my God. No, I've got a little bit of a buzz from that.

Speaker 3:Great.

Speaker 1:You're running through the forest. You're running through the forest. You take a right turn. You take a right turn. You take a left turn. You take a left turn. Jump. Yeah, this one, too. Oh, God. It's these. It's the ones in there. It's the ones in there.

Speaker 6:Dumplings.

Speaker 1:Dumplings. But wait, you said yours was mostly water, so there's no way that's water. That's actually still a chemical thing. Do they always smell like that? No. It smells like spray paint.

Speaker 3:Yes.

Speaker 2:Like spray paint cans. Oh, it does smell good.

Speaker 4:Um.

Speaker 1:Put it down. Will, put it down.

Speaker 4:Will.

Speaker 3:Back in our day, neurodivergent kids would just smoke cigarettes.

Speaker 2:To Will's point about shaking them into the microphone, the trend does look to be started by an ASMR TikTok creators. And so it is.

Speaker 1:And would they do like do the sounds into the. Yes. Because again, that stuff that.

Speaker 4:We've talked about one of my favorite sounds ever is fingernails on like a phone.

Speaker 2:I know you love it when I clickety clack.

Speaker 1:That's straight ASMR. I love that. Have you watched any ASMR videos or listened to it?

Speaker 4:No.

Speaker 1:Oh, you should.

Speaker 4:Every time I Google, I Google wrong and just ask shows up.

Speaker 1:So it's just, it's terrible.

Speaker 3:So yeah, I, I remember first hearing about ASMR like 10 years ago or whatever and being like, Oh, this is sounds like a, I don't know, like a trend or whatever. Like who, you know, and then I actually listened to one and sure enough, Straight up tingles all the way.

Speaker 1:Down my back. Do you remember which one you listened to?

Speaker 4:No.

Speaker 3:I just know that it works every time. They always work. It's like a certain, and there's like wind in mics. It's like, oh, right.

Speaker 1:It just, you know. Oh, here's the thing. Can you guys make a fluttering sound with your ears?

Speaker 4:What?

Speaker 1:Do you have a muscle inside your ears that you can go like tense? Oh, yeah. I'm just doing it right now.

Speaker 2:Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4:Of course.

Speaker 2:I'm doing it right now.

Speaker 1:Some people can't. Like a lot of people can't. I'm doing it right now. And they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2:Yeah, I just did it.

Speaker 1:Yeah, me too. It's like maybe you can't do it for very long. Right.

Speaker 2:You do it for like the length of a breath.

Speaker 1:But I actually find it very calming and relaxing.

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 3:But that's like there's some people that have no control over that muscle or don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 2:I recently started wearing earplugs.

Speaker 1:Oh.

Speaker 2:Burlap sacks as well. No, but earplugs in just my day-to-day life.

Speaker 1:What, like during that you're not sleeping?

Speaker 3:You're just wearing– This is when her children are on therapy. I just used to.

Speaker 1:Feel like I would talk at my mom and she wouldn't answer me.

Speaker 2:I wish that were the case. I can still hear everything. It's just not so loud.

Speaker 1:Why not noise-canceling headphones?

Speaker 2:That's what they are.

Speaker 1:They're called Loop. I thought you meant you took the airplane.

Speaker 2:No, no, no. These are actually called, I think they're called Loop.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 2:And they are noise defeaters. noise canceling. They slightly muffle things. So, for example, you know, Will, you know how I have.

Speaker 1:By the end of our next episode, Will's going to be shooting up. This was it.

Speaker 2:This was the gateway.

Speaker 1:This is the gateway. It's just that. He's gonna go buy some cigarettes after this. He's back on the wagon.

Speaker 2:No, he's got 11 years of no smoking.

Speaker 4:Wow.

Speaker 2:It's amazing. Do you think that smell's gonna go away after it like airs out for a bit? Or is it the stuff inside?

Speaker 1:What is it? I don't know.

Speaker 2:Because it didn't do that. It's straight up.

Speaker 4:You're right.

Speaker 1:It's spray paint. It smells like spray paint. You're huffing spray paint. That can't be good for you or for kids.

Speaker 2:No, but so my version of neurodivergence is sounds. I can't handle phones that go off. Nothing about my phone ever makes a sound. It's never even on vibrate. It is always on silent. My car audio, you know, like maps, it's not allowed to talk to me.

Speaker 1:Alarms to wake you up?

Speaker 2:I do use an alarm to wake me up, and it's a very soothing. No, it's not talking. It is a song, but it's soothing.

Speaker 1:Hey, Biscuit. Time to get up.

Speaker 2:Hey, Biscuit. Is that my nickname?

Speaker 1:Yeah. Hey, Biscuit. Come on. Time to get up. You're doing so good today. You already look pretty. Come on.

Speaker 2:Get up. That would be nice.

Speaker 1:You could wear a burlap sack and you'd still look good. And you'd still rock it. You'd still look good.

Speaker 2:Come on.

Speaker 1:You're going to kill this, Jay. By the way, kids are taken care of. House is taken care of. You just go and you just do you.

Speaker 5:Well, can you record that for me?

Speaker 2:So the earplugs have helped immensely. Like I wear them to my son's basketball game where there is lots of loud tennis shoe sounds. Oh, that squeak.

Speaker 1:That squeak.

Speaker 2:Two games going at the same time. So four teams on a basketball court. Very loud buzzer.

Speaker 1:Echoey. You can't hear anybody. Whistles from the coaches.

Speaker 3:Yep.

Speaker 2:Parents yelling for their kids and tennis shoe sounds. And I... I'm looking around. I'm like, everybody else seems to be handling this normally. And I feel like I'm ready to shoot through the roof.

Speaker 1:Yeah. I'm like that with rhythmic banging. Like that's why I could never go to clubs.

Speaker 4:Like the instant panic attack.

Speaker 1:Yeah. Like that's better.

Speaker 4:For some reason, high level is okay. Is better for me than if you get a low bass thump.

Speaker 1:That's continuous. Like music, no problem. But if I go to like techno music, it's like almost instant.

Speaker 4:EDM.

Speaker 1:Yeah. Can't do it. I can't do it.

Speaker 4:Wow.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 2:But Indie likes these as well, right?

Speaker 1:No, he likes squishy stuff a lot. Yeah. Should we make some Podmeets World related squishies as merch? What would they be? A globe?

Speaker 2:A globe.

Speaker 1:A squishy globe. Celery. Squishy celery would be great. Squishy celery is so cute. What else?

Speaker 2:We could do a slow rise globe.

Speaker 1:That's actually, it's a pretty great idea.

Speaker 2:I would like a slow rise globe. I'd be into that.

Speaker 1:What about a giant one that just rolls over like the one that used to roll over? And I didn't get that until like, you know, a year ago. It's like it's rolling.

Speaker 2:The world's rolling over. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 1:It's crushing him.

Speaker 2:Guys, did you you are a big history buff and you actually you know a lot about Walt Disney, right?

Speaker 1:I mean, I know some.

Speaker 4:Okay.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 2:I found a very interesting fact about Walt Disney that I wanted to share.

Speaker 6:Okay.

Speaker 2:Did you know that the last words Walt Disney ever wrote before he died in 1966? What's your guess?

Speaker 1:I don't remember. Don't make squishies. Squishies are the end of the world. Squishies are the harbingers of the end. It's not worth it. I'm sorry for Epcot-centered people. Freeze my head. No, it was, I can't, I do, he wrote it.

Speaker 2:It was something, the last words he ever wrote were Kurt Russell.

Speaker 1:Yes, that's right, I did hear this. I did hear this.

Speaker 2:Kurt was a kid.

Speaker 1:Yeah, he had been in Disney films.

Speaker 2:He had just signed a 10-year deal with the Walt Disney Company.

Speaker 4:The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes. It's one of the biggest Disney movies of all time. He was the computer that wore tennis shoes.

Speaker 1:Oh, my God. I thought for sure that was just you huffing paint right now. You were like, yeah, the computer that wore tennis shoes. You heard me say that, right? You heard me say that.

Speaker 4:I can't feel my nose. The Computer That Wore Tennis Shoes. That was a Kurt Russell movie. He was like the DCOM kid. back in the day when he was 14, 15 years old. Yeah, I remember that, but I didn't know it was Kurt.

Speaker 1:That's right.

Speaker 2:But Kurt Russell has no idea why he wrote his name to this day. Yeah. So he had, as a kid, he had just signed a 10-year deal with the Walt Disney Company.

Speaker 1:Did he like write this and then die, like literally at the desk?

Speaker 2:No, I mean, they were the last things, it was the last thing he wrote. How long in between he wrote it and his death, I'm not exactly sure, but the last known thing he wrote was Kurt Russell. What would you say is like, your biggest nightmare to have either written before you die or what would be your last search history?

Speaker 3:I was going to say www.toplessasmr.com.

Speaker 1:Topless ASMR. Call doctor to have this checked.

Speaker 2:If someone were to go through your search history right now, what would be the most embarrassing thing they'd find?

Speaker 1:Probably my own name. Really? Yeah.

Speaker 3:Because occasionally somebody will be like, dude, you got somebody.

Speaker 1:I read this article about you and it's like, oh God. Self-googling. I Google myself. That's a nasty habit. So that would probably be the craziest thing. Because yeah, I mean, I don't really Google weird stuff. Right, right, right.

Speaker 4:But I will occasionally Google weird stuff, but it's like weird stuff where it's like, you know, what year was this? Who did the music for this random decom in 1978?

Speaker 1:But no, probably my name would be the most embarrassing thing in my Google search history. Mine would just be really stupid things that I feel like I should know. Like, how do I make my microwave do this and this?

Speaker 3:Or like, if this breaks on my oven, what do I.

Speaker 1:And it's always like... you take a screwdriver and you turn the.

Speaker 4:You know, it's like, there's a great, great meme that Susan sent me. It's like the great one where it said, um, what my, what the most embarrassing thing my husband thinks he'll find on my phone.

Speaker 1:And it's like, how do you cheat? How do you blah, blah, blah. And it's like the actual most embarrassing thing. And it's like seven plus eight.

Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1:What is a 15% tip? Yeah.

Speaker 2:I'm trying to find my history. That's what I'm actually going to look to see what some of mine are. By the way, I cannot tell you enough how much I love my new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. It is so good.

Speaker 1:Does it fold this way? Yes.

Speaker 2:So it folds like a sandwich.

Speaker 1:Wait, folds like a sandwich or a hot dog?

Speaker 3:What?

Speaker 1:A hot dog doesn't fold?

Speaker 2:Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Speaker 1:Yes, but a hot dog doesn't fold.

Speaker 2:You mean a bun?

Speaker 4:A bun.

Speaker 3:A sandwich could be equal sizes, like squares going over each other.

Speaker 1:Or it could be one piece of bread that you fold.

Speaker 2:But here's the thing. You know how phones, of course, have auto tilt? It doesn't matter which way it folds. You can look at it any way you want. So you can hold it wide like a book. Then you just turn it and everything shifts. So depending on what you want to do on the phone, the wider screen can be perfect for it. So it's great for watching our podcast, like when we've watched the Disney Plus episodes. I've been watching them on my Z Fold 8. Or if you wanted to, you know, make edits on the podcast.

Speaker 2:If you want to take a picture or putting it in your pocket, it folds up small to go in your pocket.

Speaker 1:I have.

Speaker 2:really enjoyed it. And I think you're going to love it.

Speaker 1:Do they have, they have a watch too, don't they?

Speaker 2:They sure do. My kids use the watch. It's pretty great.

Speaker 4:I would like to, I kind of live by the watch, so I'd love to get a watch.

Speaker 2:Smartwatch is great. And the greatest news for sure is that now they have smart switch. So even though we all think it's difficult to change phones and to go from one brand to another brand, Now, it's not that difficult. You're going to do smart switch. Everything from your current phone will go to your brand new Samsung phone.

Speaker 1:Might still be hard for Grandpa Will over there. I'm the one who wants to switch, sir. Not when... No, I'm just technologically... Maybe, I think... He'll need your help. He'll need your help.

Speaker 2:Not with me as a friend.

Speaker 1:See, I've got Biscuit over here who's going to help me out.

Speaker 3:Biscuit!

Speaker 2:I love my new nickname. Well, listen, you guys know I've been a Samsung girly for a decade now, and the longer I use my Galaxy Z Fold 8, the more reasons I find to love it. You can find your Galaxy foldable that's right for you at Samsung.com. Switch easier. All right, my search history. Back to it.

Speaker 1:What I should start doing is just Googling the two of you. Like, I don't need to Google me. If I Google you or you, I'm going to get the same article.

Speaker 2:Quite possibly.

Speaker 1:But you don't want that article.

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 1:Why do you want to read articles? I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 4:It's a weird predilection of just, like, somebody wrote something about you.

Speaker 1:I want to read what they wrote about me.

Speaker 4:You know?

Speaker 1:So it's, yeah, I should just. I'm getting better at just letting things go, which is good. How about you, Danielle?

Speaker 2:Gosh.

Speaker 1:Cat porn.

Speaker 6:No!

Speaker 2:Gosh.

Speaker 6:How to murder my family, bury their bodies, and get away with it. How can I permanently remove everyone's voices and replace them with the biscuit wake-up voice that Will did?

Speaker 2:Exactly.

Speaker 1:You know, I mean, I.

Speaker 3:Don't know.

Speaker 2:I don't I mean, honestly, non-extradition treaty countries. It's not going to surprise you that it's a lot of shopping.

Speaker 1:Shopping, yeah. It's going to be bags and watches.

Speaker 2:Yeah, the amount of.

Speaker 3:How often do you have a box arrive and you do not remember what you ordered?

Speaker 2:Every day.

Speaker 1:Oh my God. I've had to drop... That's embarrassing to me. I have to drop stuff off.

Speaker 3:When I'm like, I actually don't remember ordering this. Or like I've made the mistake where I've ordered something twice and I'm like... That is so embarrassing.

Speaker 4:Every time I have to drop something off at their house, literally every single time, there's boxes piled on the wall.

Speaker 1:Oh, my God.

Speaker 4:No.

Speaker 1:Then are you always throwing stuff away, too?

Speaker 2:No, no, no, no, no. That I don't remember ordering never happens.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 2:When the box arrives, I might go, I don't know what this is.

Speaker 5:Right.

Speaker 2:And then when I open it, I go, oh, right. Right. I never have anything I don't remember ordering. I don't drink, and I'm asleep by 9.30 every night.

Speaker 3:Right.

Speaker 1:You're not like 2 a.m. being like, I need that. I need that.

Speaker 2:Um, and most of the things I order, of course, there are some clothes, like clothes items for myself, but I get a lot of stuff for the kids. Like, you know, Adler starting, starting school this year, Adler all of a sudden started wanting to wear tank tops under all of his jerseys and under. And so I was like, I've got to get Adler some jerseys. And the first set of jerseys I ordered for him, I was like, hmm, he's seven, but he's not a tall seven. I'm going to get him size five to six. And they came, they were like crop tops on them. So those became Keaton's and I ordered new tank tops. So like stuff like that will happen where it's like stuff like that for the kids, which feeds my shopping habit without me feeling as guilty about it because it's not just for me.

Speaker 4:So Susan's favorite thing is, I'm convinced she likes this more than the ordering, is the tracking of, the trying on, and the returning of products. Every time she gets something, I'm like, you are going to love to return that.

Speaker 1:She's like, I know. I'm really looking forward to it.

Speaker 2:Wow, that's my least favorite part.

Speaker 1:I hate all of it, but she loves.

Speaker 4:She's like, oh my God, I'm tracking it. It's going to be here Tuesday, and then I'll hear, nope. And she's like, I'll bring it back tomorrow, and it's gone.

Speaker 1:She loves it. She loves returning stuff. You want to?

Speaker 2:I do.

Speaker 1:This one's fun.

Speaker 2:I like the smell. Oh, see, this is what I mean by slow rise.

Speaker 1:See how this.

Speaker 2:Is real slow rise.

Speaker 1:Is it bread or is it a dog? Red dog.

Speaker 2:It's a red dog. God, it smells good.

Speaker 1:Try this one. Will's just looking for an excuse to huff more.

Speaker 2:Wow, it really is.

Speaker 1:He just keeps being like, I can't believe it. Oh my God, this is so crazy. See, he's doing it.

Speaker 2:Will, get out of here.

Speaker 1:My God, he's turning purple.

Speaker 2:You're about as pink as that squishy.

Speaker 1:Yo, when did you get here? Oh.

Speaker 3:I think this podcast should just be us trying different drugs. That's what everyone really wants.

Speaker 2:Oh, my God. I would like to introduce a brand new feature on Pod Meets World.

Speaker 1:Huffing paint. No. Oh.

Speaker 2:No, not that one. It's something we are going to invent for the Disney Plus shows, and it's Rider Strong's.

Speaker 1:Yes.

Speaker 2:That's how they get you.

Speaker 1:That's how they get you segment.

Speaker 6:Yes.

Speaker 2:Please, Ryder.

Speaker 1:That's how they get you.

Speaker 3:Yes!

Speaker 1:That's my first time hearing it. I love it. I haven't earned a stink yet. I haven't earned a stink yet. Can we hear it again? That's how they get you. It's got that... Kind of like an 80s vibe.

Speaker 3:All right, so yeah, this goes back to when I was. Channeling my father without even realizing it. My father, notorious cheapskate King Strong.

Speaker 1:Everyone.

Speaker 2:There are so many other better ways to describe this man.

Speaker 1:Oh, he's a wonderful man. How about hero firefighter? Hero firefighter.

Speaker 2:Incredible father.

Speaker 1:More hero. Incredible father. Firefighter. Grandfather. Grandfather.

Speaker 4:Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3:Amazing person uh will always feel like everyone's out to screw him he's gotten a lot better by the way actually the last five years my dad has mellowed out okay he will no longer ever say that's how they get you because he's like finally it's happened but growing up it was very you know and so i've inherited his stinginess we all inherited his anger About getting screwed over mostly for things like parking and paying too much for coffee, whatnot. So for today's... But I'm also going to balance this out. I'm not going to just say...

Speaker 3:We're going to have another segment.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 1:That I'm tentatively calling They Want You to Take the Roles.

Speaker 2:Oh, I like this.

Speaker 1:Which is.

Speaker 3:little bonuses when you go into a restaurant or when you have consumer experiences that are good.

Speaker 2:Like free bread.

Speaker 1:Free bread, exactly. Like they want you to take the rolls. Which is not happening on the couch anymore. Exactly.

Speaker 3:So, right.

Speaker 1:That's how they get you. You pay in for bread. Yeah, that's how they get you. I know.

Speaker 3:So, that's how they get you that I've hated for years. And you might think that this is a they want you to take the rolls, but it's not.

Speaker 1:Oh, it starts like maybe a benefit. It starts like it's going to be a benefit, but then no. But it's not. Larger size for a quarter more. You guys know what I'm talking about? Of course I do.

Speaker 2:Would you like to supersize it?

Speaker 3:And you're like, hey, can I get a medium popcorn or a small popcorn? And you're trying to be reasonable. You're trying to just order what you actually will eat.

Speaker 1:Right.

Speaker 3:And then they're like, do you want a super duper bucket for a quarter more? And I am immediately pissed off.

Speaker 1:Why? Because why?

Speaker 2:Because he's a Sagittarius.

Speaker 3:If they could price this out to where for a quarter more, they're actually making more, then they could make them all balanced and reasonable prices, right?

Speaker 1:This is what's bothering you? Yes. The movie ticket costs $ 62. 50 now, but it's the popcorn for a quarter more. I'm okay with that because that's going to the filmmakers. That's creative. That's fine.

Speaker 3:But when they want to get you eating more popcorn- Like, just make the price better.

Speaker 1:Just make them even. No, no one's with me on this. Do you always do it? Do you always say like, oh, yeah, the movie's twice a year.

Speaker 2:You just went the other day.

Speaker 1:That's one of my times this year. OK. And if they said to you, we had a big bucket, but three of us shared it.

Speaker 2:That's exactly it. We go as a family. I'm at the movie theater fairly regularly.

Speaker 5:OK.

Speaker 2:At the Topanga Mall. Topanga Mall.

Speaker 1:I got nothing.

Speaker 2:You need a merch call.

Speaker 1:I need a merch call. I need a merch call. We are just becoming the like. We're here with Boulder and the Zoo Crew. Boulder and the Zoo Crew prank calls. Let's go. Where's our soundboard? Guys, this is what we've become. Huff and paint. Hey, we're here with It's Official. He's so strong and when there's a will, you gotta love it. Anyway, you were saying you like the Topanga Mall.

Speaker 2:I'm at the movie theater a lot. And the four of us go for kids' movies. And yes, we will supersize the popcorn because they give you boxes.

Speaker 1:Boxes on the side.

Speaker 2:On the side. And you take your giant tub and you pour it into your boxes and you share.

Speaker 1:But you just order that.

Speaker 3:Yeah, what?

Speaker 1:You just order it.

Speaker 3:So wait, is.

Speaker 1:Your problem that they're trying to upsize you?

Speaker 2:Yes.

Speaker 1:So do you not supersize it?

Speaker 4:Well, you'd never go to McDonald's, but did they piss you off when they'd supersize you at McDonald's?

Speaker 1:Yes, they stopped doing that because it was so unhealthy. Well, no, they still do it. Now they call it large.

Speaker 4:Right. Yeah.

Speaker 3:Now, but they don't say like, dude, you liked him. Did they say like, you don't want to super technically, you're not supposed.

Speaker 1:To say they're not supposed to offer it. Exactly.

Speaker 4:But they will say, well, what they will say though, is do you want that small, medium or large?

Speaker 3:Sure.

Speaker 1:So it's a nice way of still saying, do you want the bigger size?

Speaker 3:If the price differential between the medium and the large was so extreme that you would obviously eat, get the large.

Speaker 1:Doesn't that make you mad? You're like, just price them reasonably.

Speaker 3:I'm trying to be a reasonable human being and not like a non over gluttonous person who's like, I just want my popcorn. You know, this is the amount of popcorn I'm probably going to eat for me.

Speaker 5:Right.

Speaker 3:And then they're like for a quarter more. Like, oh, now you're going to offer me a deal. Why not just make it a deal? Well, why not just have it be.

Speaker 4:Wait, you said this is the amount of popcorn you're going to eat. So do you get a separate one? Indy gets a separate one. Alex gets a separate one where instead you just get one big bucket and you share it.

Speaker 1:Indy will not share popcorn with me. I don't know why. He hates it.

Speaker 3:So I end up, but I also want to be reasonable. I don't, like, because then they're also like free refills in the large. I'm like, Indy, we're not going back to get a refill.

Speaker 1:So we each get a small and it's fine. And it's like, that should be priced better than just giant.

Speaker 4:So you think three smalls should cost less than one giant bucket?

Speaker 1:I just think it should be based on the amount of popcorn you're eating, right? But I mean, I think really- Like you're getting a bunch of popcorn.

Speaker 2:The problem isn't that you think popcorn is expensive.

Speaker 1:I mean- I feel like they're screwing me over.

Speaker 3:I'm immediately pissed off at them for saying for a quarter more, we'll give you four times as much popcorn. I'm like, well, just give me a better amount of popcorn for the price I'm paying. Why do I have to be gluttonous and desiring more to rationalize the savings?

Speaker 1:Hit this real quick. There you go. Hate it. Immediately mad. I'm immediately mad. Are you thinking about it through most of the film? Yes.

Speaker 2:Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:Like, just let me, give me half off my medium. Like, or, you know. I still don't get the gripe.

Speaker 4:I still don't actually get the gripe.

Speaker 2:I don't either, really.

Speaker 1:See, because you think of it as they want you to take the roles. You're like, oh, it's a benefit. I'm immediately pissed off.

Speaker 3:I'm like, this indicates to me that you have overpriced everything. If you could give away a large for $ 5. 25 and a medium for $ 5, then I should be paying $ 2.

Speaker 1:50 for the medium. How much corn kernels? How much better is this after huffing the dumpling, by the way?

Speaker 2:Definitely better.

Speaker 1:Huffing the dumpling is the name of our episode. Huffing the dumpling. Oh, dude. Have you seen Will lately? He didn't show up for work today. He took that dumpling off. He's been huffing the dumpling. He's been huffing the dumpling.

Speaker 3:Oh. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1:Yeah, I still get the problem. You're getting more popcorn for like a quarter more. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 4:Right?

Speaker 1:I should be happy.

Speaker 3:I know.

Speaker 2:Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 1:But I'm not. I'm so upset about them screwing me over.

Speaker 2:Do you shop online at all?

Speaker 1:Yeah, a little bit. Okay. A little bit.

Speaker 2:Do you like it when they will say, only $ 4.

Speaker 1:Away from free shipping? Back to thing?

Speaker 2:Oh yeah, it happens all the time. So like a lot of websites will have, you know, free shipping over $ 75 or free shipping over $ 100.

Speaker 1:Hate it.

Speaker 2:And I used to, every single time, be like.

Speaker 3:We could have saved this for a whole nother segment because this just happened to me yesterday. They said prime delivery on Amazon. They were like- But you can get it delivered today if you add in a certain amount. So I said, Alex, Indy, what do we need? Turns out Indy needed underwear.

Speaker 1:Boom.

Speaker 3:Add it in.

Speaker 1:Alex, what do you need? She needs some cleaning products. Boom.

Speaker 5:Great.

Speaker 1:Go to checkout. Well, no, those two products can't be delivered today. Right, right. Yeah, you have to.

Speaker 3:And so then my thing that I wanted to get delivered today gets bumped to two-day regular Prime because they're.

Speaker 1:You know, oh, my God. Are you getting a big thing of popcorn so you can just make it at home?

Speaker 2:No, but so, okay, when that happens, just so you know, there's a thing that says like add to the delivery. There's a, and you go to a specific cat.

Speaker 5:Oh, I know.

Speaker 1:Okay. I tried.

Speaker 2:Oh, it didn't work.

Speaker 1:Wow.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 1:Oh, I see what you're saying.

Speaker 3:Before I actually add to my cart, it shows me what, but I was thinking, let's get stuff we actually need.

Speaker 5:Well, of course, but still you go, go look through that and see if there's stuff.

Speaker 4:I've been getting more and more things that they're just not delivering. And eventually after like a month, they go, do you want to cancel your order?

Speaker 1:I'm like, yes. Yeah.

Speaker 4:I guess since you're not going to deliver it. I've been trying to get shoes, just a pair of sneakers forever. I finally didn't have black, didn't have gray, ordered them all.

Speaker 1:Finally, they came.

Speaker 4:The only one they have is white, bright white sneakers to where every time I wear them, Susan looks at me and goes, are you working the pediatric floor tonight?

Speaker 2:Those are great white sneakers and they're great.

Speaker 1:But these are like cool sneakers. These are running, like big running clunky sneakers. Yeah. So Sue thinks I'm a pediatric nurse because I wear them.

Speaker 2:Those are always black. Those clogs are always like.

Speaker 1:And they got the big white ones too. Big white ones too.

Speaker 2:Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1:Old school. Yeah.

Speaker 2:Like one flew over the cuckoo's nest.

Speaker 1:Yes.

Speaker 2:White.

Speaker 1:We're really old school. Wow.

Speaker 2:That's what I pictured.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 2:Well, anyway. Thank you all for watching and or listening. And remember, our first ever book together, Book Meets World, hits shelves on November 10th. It's an overall history of the show, Boy Meets World, as told to us through the podcast. And there are new interviews just for the book and never before seen photos. You can get it anywhere you get books. And we narrated the audio book ourselves.

Speaker 1:So much fun.

Speaker 2:Yes. And you can learn more at Pod Meets World Show. Is he still? You're still doing it. That is such a Leo thing to do.

Speaker 1:Oh, my God.

Speaker 4:My horoscope today said it was going to be a good day.

Speaker 3:See you next time.
