In this episode I help you understand how the brain becomes conditioned for addiction and why ignoring alcohol, willpower alone & the common solutions we find in traditional recovery aren't enough and continue to have high relapse rates. The brain and nervous system have to learn safety and the window of tolerance must be increased or the brain will revert back. This is not a matter of intelligence or willpower, it's a matter of conditioning the parts of the brain involved with addiction. For group or 1-1 coaching visit www.thestopdrinkingcoach.com

Without a brain and nervous system that feels safe or can handle tension, the brain will always revert back to alcohol. Willpower and white-knuckling does nothing to change the neural architecture established around alcohol which is why you always go back to drinking. NeuroRepatterning is the only recovery and personal transformation system that goes upstream to the brain and nervous system where the conditioning and patterns lives and changes engine that drives the feelings & behaviors. Do you want to keep your hands at "10 & 2" for the rest of your life, wishing, hoping and praying your way to sobriety? Or would you rather go deep into the GPS system and update how your car drives? A fallacy in our thinking: We picked up alcohol and put it to our mouth for 30 years. Therefore stopping requires the same thing. Yes, but STAYING stopped requires us to: 1. Build new pathways so that our brain has something different it can do. 2. Train our mental pathways 3. Train our emotional pathways 4. Increase our nervous systems tolerance to hold tension 5. Practice it enough until it becomes safe enough to exercise If we fail to address any of these aspects of the recovery process, we will relapse and experience frustration and call it a mystery. What nobody explains or teaches is that sobriety is a learned skill. This is why you keep relapsing. Because you lack the skill to manage your impulses, mind or sensation during critical moments. Ignoring alcohol isn't enough. We both know this. This is why you go 2 weeks, 2 months, 8 months...and always go back. We must build new pathways repeatedly and train our brain and nervous system to be able to use them. If you don't do this, you will keep going back to alcohol and call it confusing and mysterious. NeuroRepatterning helps you build the skills necessary to experience the freedom…
