Speaker 1:Hey, welcome to it. It's Monday and we got a brand new episode for you. It's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 2:Yes!

Speaker 1:I barely survived to get here this morning.

Speaker 3:I was putting together my to-go, like my little lunch that I bring in every day.

Speaker 1:Yeah, your oyster salad with macaroni.

Speaker 3:And I needed some sesame dressing on it, and guess what? I spilled half the freaking bottle down the front of me this morning.

Speaker 1:That sucks.

Speaker 4:You smell like sesame.

Speaker 1:Well, I think my bra is still a little soaked, but... The rest of my clothes I did change.

Speaker 5:I feel like that's not the first time your bra has been soaked in sesame dressing.

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 1:So I just wanted to give you a scent for listening to today's episode.

Speaker 4:You know what, guys? I bet Brooke's bra always smells like some type of food.

Speaker 1:Yeah, that's right. Like a microwave oven down there. What do you got in the comments, Alexis?

Speaker 5:Yeah, Faye said, you know, I barely started watching your YouTube channel, and I envisioned you guys completely different.

Speaker 1:I envisioned Brooke as a brunette, sporty.

Speaker 5:Kind of look, that wears sportswear and like a jacket around her waist half the time.

Speaker 1:And envision Jeffrey.

Speaker 5:As a tan man with no beard and brown hair, And Alexis, I figured she was a blonde, but also like a brown hair woman.

Speaker 6:Oh.

Speaker 1:So I am blonde. What do you mean you thought I was blonde? I am blonde, Faye. So after this, I blocked them.

Speaker 7:Of course.

Speaker 6:You did.

Speaker 7:Yeah, of course.

Speaker 8:Right.

Speaker 1:How dare you?

Speaker 3:Yes.

Speaker 1:Be careful in that comment section.

Speaker 3:Yeah.

Speaker 2:All right.

Speaker 1:Hey, welcome to it. Your new episode starts now.

Speaker 7:Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.

Speaker 4:Today, I'm going into this call with extremely low expectations. For myself. That way, there's no pressure on me to do anything helpful or even entertaining.

Speaker 8:Wait.

Speaker 4:That's going to be my co-host job today. Someone has to be entertaining.

Speaker 1:I was going to say, haven't you always lived your life that way? Low expectations.

Speaker 4:I appreciate that you notice me like that, Brooke. You see me.

Speaker 3:I do.

Speaker 4:But I'm hoping our listener, Tracy, can also do most of the heavy lifting. Tracy, are you able to entertain the masses today? Because I feel like mailing it in.

Speaker 7:Hopefully.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 4:Off to a good start. I like this. Tell us about the guy and how you met him in the most entertaining way you possibly can. If you want to add in funny voices or a magic act, go for it.

Speaker 7:His name is Rob.

Speaker 6:Okay.

Speaker 2:Rob.

Speaker 1:Sounds pretty boring.

Speaker 4:Not very entertained. Keep going.

Speaker 1:Just kidding. How did you meet Rob?

Speaker 7:We met at the beach, actually. I was there just with a girlfriend and we were enjoying a day in the sun.

Speaker 2:Not intending to scout for guys or anything.

Speaker 7:We were really just doing our own solo thing.

Speaker 2:Okay.

Speaker 4:Yeah, let the guys come to you.

Speaker 7:That's literally, literally what happened. Yeah.

Speaker 2:He kind of came over with some of his buddies and they asked if.

Speaker 7:We wanted to play some pickup volleyball.

Speaker 3:I would tell you they already liked you because they don't ask people they're not attracted to to play pickup volleyball with them.

Speaker 2:My friend was laughing though because she knows that I played in high school and a little bit in college.

Speaker 7:Oh, my God.

Speaker 4:They have no idea who they're talking to.

Speaker 1:So you're legit.

Speaker 2:Exactly. So we decided to, and we went over there, and I basically smoked them, obviously.

Speaker 7:Let's go.

Speaker 3:Were you playing against him or on the same team?

Speaker 7:No, I was against him. I was not on his team.

Speaker 4:Oh, was this like a guys versus girls?

Speaker 1:I don't know.

Speaker 3:I see her spiking the ball and him just getting like a broken nose.

Speaker 2:Oh, God.

Speaker 7:Not broken, but I did have a few good spikes for sure.

Speaker 4:What was Rob's reaction to seeing that you actually have a lot of volleyball skill?

Speaker 7:Well, he was definitely working hard for it. He was trying to meet me where I was at.

Speaker 2:And we, you know, we kind of said thanks and we were leaving. after dominating and Rob was like, where can I find you? And so I was like, well, you can find me at the gym. Oh.

Speaker 1:I think you meant like your phone number.

Speaker 4:Or like Insta.

Speaker 3:I mean, you found a man that you're attracted to and he's okay being like just smoked by you in sports.

Speaker 4:Well, she wants another venue to perform better at him in front of him and I think that's kind of sweet.

Speaker 1:You're just making him work so hard.

Speaker 6:Good.

Speaker 4:Don't make it easy on us.

Speaker 7:You have to.

Speaker 4:Good. So you said, find me at the gym.

Speaker 7:Yeah, I was like, you can find me at the gym. He's like, oh, okay. Well, what about gym and some dinner? But I said, maybe. And I just gave him my number.

Speaker 1:Oh, that's good.

Speaker 4:Okay. That's cute, actually, because it shows you're interested. The maybe's a little flirty.

Speaker 1:Maybe he isn't calling you back.

Speaker 3:I don't know if he's calling you back, but maybe he's not because he's just working out and trying to get up to your level before gym and dinner actually happen.

Speaker 4:Taking volleyball lessons.

Speaker 7:Right.

Speaker 4:Well, what happened after the beach day? Was there another interaction?

Speaker 7:Yeah.

Speaker 2:So we kind of were texting back and forth for a few days. And then he was finally like, let's meet up at the gym.

Speaker 7:Let's have a good workout and then maybe have a little dinner. So we did.

Speaker 1:Oh, you did.

Speaker 6:It was super casual.

Speaker 7:Nothing like nothing crazy.

Speaker 2:I wasn't like trying to outdo him at the gym. We just kind of did our own thing and talked in between sets. OK.

Speaker 7:And then we went to a very casual place for dinner. It was like super chill, but it was super fun. He he made me laugh.

Speaker 2:He was very easy to talk to.

Speaker 7:He did say this weird thing that made me chuckle, but he wanted to let me know that.

Speaker 2:He's fiscally liberal but socially conservative.

Speaker 4:So he's a shy introvert who's bad with his money. Yeah.

Speaker 2:Sure.

Speaker 4:I don't know. That's a pretty weird statement.

Speaker 6:I know.

Speaker 1:What did it mean?

Speaker 2:Honestly, I just kind of giggled and we didn't go into many details.

Speaker 4:Honestly, that's the best bet. If a guy ever says anything that you don't understand, just laugh and be like, that's cute. Whatever you said, yes.

Speaker 1:Exactly. Do you think he understood what he meant?

Speaker 5:Maybe he saw it on TikTok and just repeated it.

Speaker 4:Oh, the girls love this line. Fiscally liberal, socially conservative.

Speaker 3:Was that a bad moment for you, or was it just the only awkward thing that you can remember?

Speaker 7:Everything else was fine.

Speaker 2:That was the only slightly maybe interesting, possibly weird moment.

Speaker 4:Since he's fiscally liberal, he probably paid the bill, which is nice.

Speaker 1:Or it means that he wanted her to pay the bill.

Speaker 4:Oh, yeah, a liberal would want that. See, it doesn't make any sense. No, a liberal would want the whole restaurant to pay this bill.

Speaker 2:Oh, yes.

Speaker 4:Everyone give me $ 5.

Speaker 1:Okay, I'm kidding.

Speaker 4:Bottom line, the bill was paid by somebody, and then what happened?

Speaker 7:Yeah, no, we were good. And then we talked for a little bit after, for a few days. So it was good.

Speaker 6:Oh.

Speaker 7:And then one day it just stopped. And so I have not heard from him. I'm very confused as to why that happened because I thought it was all really going quite well.

Speaker 3:I always think if someone just drops off that maybe it's because they were seeing another person and then it got serious with the other person.

Speaker 4:Or maybe that's just him being socially conservative with you and holding back. Not trying to be too liberal with his texts.

Speaker 2:I like it.

Speaker 1:Like, he'll go to happy hour, but he won't go to a club. Yeah, I know.

Speaker 5:That's just desperate.

Speaker 4:This guy's a mystery, and I'm eager to talk to him if we can get him to come out of his conservatism and answer the phone.

Speaker 2:Oh, God.

Speaker 7:Me too.

Speaker 4:Can we not focus on that?

Speaker 1:That was like the most boring part of the whole thing.

Speaker 4:I think we lean harder into the political talk when we come back and call.

Speaker 6:I'm so sorry.

Speaker 1:We are not suited for that.

Speaker 4:I don't know what's going to happen. Well, let's find out because we do have his number. We're going to dial it and then all bets are off when we come back to do your second date update right after this.

Speaker 7:Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Second date update.

Speaker 4:Let's talk for a moment about Tracy and Rob's blossoming love story. It started with beach volleyball, where she absolutely crushed him and his friends. Then later moved to the gym and to dinner. and a strange comment that Rob made about being fiscally liberal and socially conservative. Still can't figure that out.

Speaker 1:Sounds like he has debt to me. And bad credit.

Speaker 4:Sounds like sexy talk, in my opinion. None of us are really sure what exactly it means, but at some point afterwards... Rob stopped responding to texts and isn't sending any of his own. And Tracy isn't exactly sure why. So she's come to us asking if we could be her vehicle to hopefully get the answers that she's been seeking.

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 3:Which is why, like, not the statement thing. It's like you just want another date with.

Speaker 2:Him, right?

Speaker 7:I would very much, yes.

Speaker 2:Okay. I feel like we.

Speaker 1:Should leave that sentence alone.

Speaker 6:What?

Speaker 7:Yeah.

Speaker 4:What sentence?

Speaker 2:The fiscal thing?

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 4:Yeah, let's not bring that up. I don't think it's even going to come up. Let's put it up in a box and put some tape over it. Alexis, you can open the box and use it if you want. I'm never going to open that, ever.

Speaker 1:Are you sure? I think we could just lock it.

Speaker 4:She's returned it to the conservative store. Okay. Let's just dial Rob and hopefully he picks up. But here we go.

Speaker 6:Hello?

Speaker 4:Hello, is this Rob?

Speaker 6:Speaking. Hey, Rob, this is a.

Speaker 4:Radio show, actually. An entire morning show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.

Speaker 2:Hey, what's up? Good morning, Rob.

Speaker 3:Alexis has a surprise.

Speaker 6:For you later.

Speaker 4:Immediately, Brooke?

Speaker 6:Yeah.

Speaker 2:Sorry.

Speaker 4:We'll get to it in a second. We do have a little bit more of a pressing matter to talk to you about. Your love life with a woman that listens to our show named Tracy.

Speaker 6:Oh, okay. So that's what this is about? Yes.

Speaker 1:Volleyball Tracy?

Speaker 8:From the beach?

Speaker 6:Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah.

Speaker 1:That's a good answer.

Speaker 4:What we're doing here is a segment. It's called a second date update. And we're trying to help Tracy get some answers about why after you guys went on a date, there's been kind of a drop off in communication on your end, it seems.

Speaker 6:Yeah. So, okay, so she contacted you guys with this?

Speaker 4:Right.

Speaker 2:Yes.

Speaker 6:Okay. She listened to our show.

Speaker 4:She emailed us.

Speaker 1:Told us a little bit about how you met.

Speaker 8:So I would say that after our last date, like, it's definitely been a bit awkward. I'm not really sure what exactly she told you everything or not, but.

Speaker 6:Awkward?

Speaker 1:Wait, awkward for you?

Speaker 6:Yeah, I would say like, I don't know, her approach.

Speaker 8:We obviously were, we've been texting and, you know, we just randomly send each other things.

Speaker 6:That we're doing, like photos of like what we're doing.

Speaker 1:Oh, so you guys were really texting.

Speaker 4:Yeah, that's like when you're like, oh, at the store. Yeah, in the shower shaving, boom.

Speaker 2:Wait.

Speaker 8:Not that specific, but I texted her a photo of an ice cream carton because I was having some ice cream and I basically was like dinner, like dinner's ready or something like that. And she responded back with like a very odd message.

Speaker 6:She was like, Do you realize how many calories are in that? Oh, girl.

Speaker 2:Oh, no.

Speaker 6:Have you even counted grams of sugar?

Speaker 1:Maybe she was joking, too. Like, you were joking about how much sugar.

Speaker 6:Well, yeah, that's what I initially thought. Initially? I don't know.

Speaker 8:I looked at something, ha-ha, whatever, with some emojis, and she came back with, like, I looked up that specific ice cream, and it would take you five gym sessions to burn off those calories.

Speaker 2:Oh.

Speaker 4:Oh, that is a little, like, off.

Speaker 3:I know but why didn't you just tell her I mean because it sounds like you guys had such a fun time like the date sounded good the volleyball at the beach sounded super fun like you're clicking on a lot of levels and I understand I mean that would definitely be a Do a breaker for me as well, but.

Speaker 1:I'm trying to, like, look past it.

Speaker 8:I mean, no, it's like, I'm not deeply offended by it, but I find it a bit weird, to be honest.

Speaker 1:Sure.

Speaker 8:And then, like, the next day, she came back with, like, a link to health habits and whatnot, and I was like, oh, dang, she's, like, really not letting this go, you know?

Speaker 4:That's too much.

Speaker 3:That's a little preachy.

Speaker 4:I think it goes back to what we were saying earlier. Sometimes you're trying to be funny and make a joke and you don't know when to stop being funny about it. Is it bad that that's what we're hoping for?

Speaker 3:You don't know when to stop making a joke that wasn't funny to begin with?

Speaker 2:Yeah.

Speaker 6:You're like, no, no, no.

Speaker 4:If I double down, triple down, she'll finally start laughing. Or there's a chance she was totally serious. I'm hoping that it was a joke. We can find out, though, because Tracy's on the other line. Of this phone call listening, waiting to talk to you.

Speaker 6:Wait a second. She's been listening to this whole thing?

Speaker 4:Yes, that's how this works.

Speaker 6:So, Tracy.

Speaker 3:Oh, God.

Speaker 4:Tracy, you're joking about that.

Speaker 7:Not at all. Not even a little bit.

Speaker 2:Girl.

Speaker 4:What the heck? Listen, Tracy, I'm the only one who supports you in this, but let's... I mean, to be.

Speaker 3:Fair, no guy's ever hit on me on a bathing suit on the beach, and.

Speaker 1:There's probably a reason.

Speaker 3:But also, like, life is short, and you shouldn't be so wrapped up in that stuff, right?

Speaker 2:Well, hold on.

Speaker 4:Before we start telling her what to think, let's hear what she meant by those comments.

Speaker 7:You're so right that life is short.

Speaker 6:That is true.

Speaker 7:And that is why I take it so seriously.

Speaker 3:And.

Speaker 2:Rob, you had.

Speaker 7:Expressed really wanting a partner.

Speaker 2:So I was just like, you know, sugar is like the drug of the United States.

Speaker 7:It's so addicting. It's so bad for us. It rips our bodies apart.

Speaker 4:Brooke, Brooke, earmuffs. Earmuffs right now. Don't listen to this. Don't get triggered, please.

Speaker 1:She's not wrong, but it's so not fun. Like, nobody wants to hang out with someone that won't enjoy an ice cream cone every now and again. Unless they're the same.

Speaker 4:Well, yeah, that's not fun to you, Rob. How about you? Do you see the fun in what she's saying?

Speaker 7:The fun?

Speaker 6:Well, I think it's all in context, right? Like, I'm actually a very fit person. I work out.

Speaker 7:I mean, Rob, you're like, you're in decent shape, babe.

Speaker 3:What?

Speaker 2:But, you know, there's room for improvement.

Speaker 7:You even talked about that.

Speaker 6:Oh! I work out because it's part of my lifestyle, you know?

Speaker 8:Like, I wouldn't just, like, if I saw Tracy walking down the street, I wouldn't describe her as, like, the most athletic fit person I've ever seen. So that's why I understand where that's coming from.

Speaker 4:Alexis, Alexis, bust open the box of fiscal stuff.

Speaker 5:You know you're careless with your money and you don't hang out with people.

Speaker 1:What does it mean to be fiscally liberal? That one, fiscally liberal.

Speaker 8:Yeah. I mean, if you guys are referring to what we talked about on the date, it was exactly like the pint of ice cream.

Speaker 6:It was a joke.

Speaker 1:Okay.

Speaker 3:Oh. Oh, okay.

Speaker 1:So wait, you're saying you didn't eat the ice cream, Rob? Let's be honest.

Speaker 4:Not the whole thing.

Speaker 1:I'm not shaming you.

Speaker 7:I'm not trying to shame anyone.

Speaker 2:Again, I'm trying to support you and that's what you said you wanted in a relationship.

Speaker 7:That's what I want.

Speaker 2:And you sent me a concerning photo.

Speaker 7:So that to me is like a call for help. It's like sending, it's dangerous. It's sending a picture of a bloody knife. It's like, oops, already did the murder or whatever.

Speaker 8:What?

Speaker 6:Oh, my God.

Speaker 4:And if that's true, Brooke's got a garage full of bloody knives in the freezer in there.

Speaker 3:Dude, if my husband sent me a list of how to be healthy after I told him I was a joint.

Speaker 7:Semi-straightener, I'm going to tell you, it may end with a bloody knife.

Speaker 4:At least now we understand what some of the messages were and why now there's no communication between the two of you.

Speaker 1:And about how your humor is just really on par with each other.

Speaker 4:That can be fixed, though.

Speaker 1:Can it?

Speaker 4:I don't know, man. You can never make a food joke. I want to be just like Tracy is and be a helpful person. and offer to send you two on another date that we would pay for.

Speaker 3:Which is funny coming from the guy who I just saw eat Cheetos for breakfast.

Speaker 4:I feel like you would want the same exact thing. Why are you lashing out at me? I'm supporting you.

Speaker 5:I would like it.

Speaker 4:Look, we'd like to send you on another date with Tracy, Rob, if you're... even willing to do it.

Speaker 7:I think I'm going to jump in here, actually, not to.

Speaker 2:Be rude, but, like, I just don't think our lives are in alignment. Again, if you're going to keep joking about this, I actually don't think a second date is optional. Wow.

Speaker 6:Yeah, it seems like it might not be a fit.

Speaker 1:Yeah, get it? Fit, because they're fit.

Speaker 4:Oh, like clothes. Well, no, like their bodies.

Speaker 1:Like clothes?

Speaker 2:That was like something Alexis would say.

Speaker 3:Hey!

Speaker 8:I know!

Speaker 4:I was lashing out at everybody because people said ice cream's a little bit fattening.

Speaker 1:I'm having a crisis.

Speaker 4:I think she's having a low sugar and someone needs to get her a candy bar. Get this woman a Snickers! Well, I'm sorry. Tracy, Rob, it's not going to work out.

Speaker 7:Oh, God.

Speaker 6:Wow.

Speaker 1:Didn't see that coming.

Speaker 4:But that's the way the cookie, well, you can't even say that. That's the way the barbell bounces.

Speaker 3:Yeah, I know.

Speaker 4:Don't want to trigger anybody.

Speaker 6:Croaking bar, maybe.

Speaker 4:Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Good thing that girl doesn't work here with us.

Speaker 3:No.

Speaker 4:I mean, could you imagine her being cube mates with Brooke during Halloween time? The conversations.

Speaker 3:I mean, she's worried about a heart attack, but that would definitely give her a heart attack.

Speaker 1:I mean, honestly.

Speaker 4:After that, there would be blood and Reese's candy wrappers just all over the floor. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 1:Good for you, girl. Do your health, but just keep it to yourself.

Speaker 4:Yeah. Look, everybody's got their match. I'm sure there's some dudes out there who would absolutely love to have that sort of feedback constantly from their partner.

Speaker 1:And can you imagine their Instagram as a couple?

Speaker 6:Woo!

Speaker 1:Yeah, that sounds fun to follow.

Speaker 4:The night they post their cheat meal. We're going to need a scoop of peanut butter.

Speaker 1:Don't you dare do the strawberries. Don't you dare.

Speaker 4:That sounds hot. But remember, you can find all of our second date content. Go online to wherever you find your podcasts and search Brooke and Jeffrey second date update. And if you ever need help with your dating life, email the show. We'll call that person who's not calling you back.
