The News | MINI 2615

0:03Speaker 1:It's been a faith-filled fall in Discovery Mountain. As the wind blew into Grizzly Mountain, it canceled the music palooza and sent many of those attendees, including musician Levi Hayes, to the Harvest Festival in Discovery. Well, Carson Vermillion captured it all. Now, the next day, Victoria Brooks and Eric Ekstrom are on their way home. They think that their time in the mountains is over. But an airport TV tells them a different story. Let's join them for today's mini-adventure called The News.

0:40Speaker 2:Ah, Eric, here.

0:42Speaker 3:I got you a bottle of water in the gift shop.

0:44Speaker 4:Thanks.

0:46Speaker 5:This brand? Victoria, you know my water brand.

0:50Speaker 3:Eric, the airport doesn't have your favorite water brand. Look, does it really matter?

0:56Speaker 5:Of course it does. How do you think I keep this voice like this?

1:00Speaker 3:All right, all right. I'll drink the water. Let's head to our gate.

1:06Speaker 5:Get me away from all these people.

1:09Speaker 3:Let's see. Oh, there's a quiet corner on that end.

1:13Speaker 4:Fine.

1:15Speaker 5:I can't wait to be home. This trip was a waste of time.

1:19Speaker 3:Yes, the event being canceled wasn't on my radar. Silly wind.

1:24Speaker 5:What a joke. At least I got my payment out of them.

1:30Speaker 3:Yes, minutes before you threatened to walk off.

1:33Speaker 5:Then I wouldn't have my check. The wind saved my bank account.

1:40Speaker 3:Eric, I'll keep working the Paris concert. You'll be brilliant at it.

1:44Speaker 5:You better get that one, Victoria.

1:46Speaker 3:Eric, I'm working on it. You need this concert, I know.

1:51Speaker 5:I don't need it. You need me.

1:54Speaker 4:What?

1:56Speaker 5:I mean, Mr. Goody Goody Levi Hayes isn't going to make you any money now, is he? What's he up to next?

2:04Speaker 3:There's a charity concert on the coast he wants to sing for.

2:07Speaker 1:Charity?

2:09Speaker 4:Of course.

2:11Speaker 3:Look, he's... Oh, Eric, there's Levi.

2:15Speaker 5:Where?

2:16Speaker 3:Look there, on the news.

2:18Speaker 5:Turn it up. They must have a piece on me next.

2:21Speaker 3:Let's see. Are there buttons on this TV? Here we go.

2:25Speaker 2:The music palooza nearby Grizzly Mountain was Castle Dude High Winds.

2:29Speaker 5:Oh, I'll be up next.

2:31Speaker 2:B-By Hayes and Eric Ekstorm were scheduled.

2:34Speaker 5:Ekstrom, not storm. Where do these newscasters go to school these days?

2:40Speaker 3:Shh, I want to listen.

2:42Speaker 2:B-By Hayes surprised fans by turning up at a nearby Harvest Festival. Where he delighted fans in this quaint fall gathering.

2:54Speaker 5:Who cares?

2:56Speaker 2:Footage was captured by a local man, Carson Vermillion.

2:59Speaker 3:Hey, that's the photographer I hired. Friends of the girl at the hotel.

3:04Speaker 5:Come on, cut to me.

3:07Speaker 2:After delighting locals with his presence at the Harvest Festival, Levi Hayes had another surprise up his sleeve.

3:15Speaker 4:Oh, brother.

3:16Speaker 2:Here we are now live with Mae Grady, the head of the Grizzly Mountain Music Palooza team. Miss Grady.

3:22Speaker 4:Hello there.

3:23Speaker 2:So, Miss Grady, the Musicpalooza was cancelled on account of Wynn. That must have been a big disappointment to your town.

3:30Speaker 4:Yes, it sure was. We had worked for months to be ready for the event. We were excited about all the business it would bring to our town.

3:40Speaker 2:The cancellation must have been a crushing blow.

3:43Speaker 4:Yes, it was. Everyone wanted to hear Levi.

3:48Speaker 2:And me. And Eric Storm, correct?

3:52Speaker 5:Extrum.

3:53Speaker 4:Yes, it wasn't the musician's fault that the safety commission had to cancel due to wind.

4:00Speaker 2:So did the musician's fee. So there's an exciting development now, isn't there?

4:04Speaker 4:Yes. This morning I found an envelope at my business door.

4:10Speaker 2:An envelope from?

4:11Speaker 4:From Levi Hayes. Look, he returned his music fee payment.

4:18Speaker 2:What?

4:19Speaker 4:Shh, Eric.

4:20Speaker 5:That goody good is going to make me look bad.

4:23Speaker 2:He returned the fee? For what reason?

4:25Speaker 4:Well, he included a note.

4:28Speaker 2:Will you share it with us?

4:29Speaker 4:Yes, and it says May. You know, we are friends. I had breakfast with him one day.

4:36Speaker 2:What does the note say?

4:38Speaker 4:May, you worked hard and your town businesses did too. Please take this check and donate it to the local business organization. Yours, Levi.

4:49Speaker 2:Now that is unexpected. famous musician doing something for this small town.

4:54Speaker 4:It was very unexpected, but Levi's just like that. He's got a good heart, always thinking of others, and.

5:04Speaker 2:Yes, Mae, we can see that you're impressed by Mr. Hayes. What will your town do with the money?

5:09Speaker 4:Oh, I don't know. It is a lot. We're going to have to meet and decide.

5:16Speaker 2:And Mr. Eckstorm's fee?

5:18Speaker 5:Don't even go there.

5:20Speaker 4:Oh... He could return it too, but that's unlikely.

5:25Speaker 1:Mr.

5:25Speaker 4:Hayes is just so generous and thoughtful and.

5:30Speaker 2:Oh, Miss May, we are out of time, but thank you for joining us.

5:33Speaker 4:Oh, yes.

5:34Speaker 2:Bye. Well, there you have it, folks. Musician Levi Hayes has a big voice and even a bigger heart. You heard it here first. Ugh.

5:44Speaker 5:Turn off the TV.

5:45Speaker 3:Yeah, I'll find the button.

5:47Speaker 5:Turn it off!

5:49Speaker 3:Eric, your tone!

5:50Speaker 5:Levi made me look bad. Now what do we do?

5:54Speaker 3:I think we move forward, Eric. Just focus on Paris and.

5:58Speaker 5:You do need Paris. You're not making any money from Levi, are you? Or your other clients?

6:03Speaker 3:I'm doing just fine, Eric. I don't need Paris. You do.

6:08Speaker 5:I need a new manager.

6:10Speaker 4:Okay.

6:12Speaker 3:You know what, Eric? You do need a new manager. You don't need me, and I don't need you.

6:18Speaker 5:But, Victoria! Paris!

6:21Speaker 3:Safe travels home, Eric. All the best with your career.

6:25Speaker 5:Victoria!

6:27Speaker 3:I'm on the phone, Eric. Goodbye.

6:29Speaker 5:Now what do I do? Hello?

6:35Speaker 4:Levi!

6:35Speaker 3:Have you seen the news piece?

6:37Speaker 4:Yeah.

6:38Speaker 2:Carson did a great job.

6:41Speaker 3:You did a great job. And I've had a change of heart. I'll book the charity concert for you.

6:48Speaker 2:Well, thanks, Victoria.

6:51Speaker 3:Levi, are you happy with me as your music manager?

6:55Speaker 2:Absolutely.

6:57Speaker 5:Good.

6:58Speaker 3:Then let's get that voice of yours out there and use it to do good in this world.

7:03Speaker 2:Victoria, now you're talking my language. Yes.

7:08Speaker 4:Yes.

7:09Speaker 3:It took a while for me to see it your way, Levi. But now I do.

7:16Speaker 1:The Musicpalooza cancellation created a successful Harvest Festival. And now it's helped Grizzly Mountain, too. All because Levi Hayes chose to think of others instead of thinking of himself. Who do you think Eric Ekstrom spends his time thinking about?

7:34Speaker 5:Yes, me. about himself.

7:37Speaker 1:If you said that, I agree with you. And it hasn't worked out so well for him, has it? We all have the choice between thinking of others and thinking of ourselves. This week, what will you choose? I hope that you'll follow Levi's example and exercise your faith. We'll see you here next time. I'm Miss Jean, and you've been listening to A Mini Adventure in Discovery Mountain. where the air is clear, clear enough to hear your imagination, and where every day is an exercise in faith.
