Welcome to GSA 101 brought to you by Elevate GSA: where we turn GOVSPEAK into a language YOU speak. My name is Hannah Struss and I have Collin Hartsell here with me and we are going to be discussing the next Mass Mod for refresh #8 to the solicitation.
· GSA didn’t make the contents of this refresh overly public or easy to access- we had to do a little digging as we were given no heads up that a refresh was even coming out. If you are in the dark as to the nature of this refresh, you are not alone! Hopefully we can clear up any gray areas for you guys.
· Broadly, Refresh 8 incorporates the requirement to have all GSA contract holders and staff vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. This comes as a direct result of a recent executive order: Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors issued on September 9, 2021.
· This also mandates a number of safety protocols which will need to be implemented, and include the following:
· COVID-19 vaccination of covered contractor employees, except in limited circumstances where an employee is legally entitled to an accommodation
· Compliance by individuals, including covered contractor employees and visitors, with the Guidance related to masking and physical distancing while in covered contractor workplaces; and
· Designation by covered contractors of a person or persons to coordinate COVID-19 workplace safety efforts at covered contractor workplaces.
· They created a specific website to answer all the unique questions that contract holders will have in implementing these requirements. We will be putting links in the show notes to this safety protocol website and the executive order that is behind this refresh.
