[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Forty Hill Orcats with me, John Barsati, about Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This guy. [SPEAKER_01]: We, today, we're continuing our coverage of the Second War of Armageddon, with a dive into the invasion of the planet and the useless overlord von Strob. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: You're useless. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot how much I did not like that guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's lucky we're not at the house right now, because you throw something at me as usual. [SPEAKER_00]: I got really angry, getting ready. [SPEAKER_01]: I had a person who doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 100% good every time. [SPEAKER_01]: I was fired up. [SPEAKER_01]: get ready for the not a real person. [SPEAKER_01]: There are real people in the world who are bad and this one's not one of them, but you I can't do anything. [SPEAKER_00]: I can shout at the sky Tell them I'll run out [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, anyway, and then we'll talk about how the invasion turns south until a hero emerges to turn the tide.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to his angry eye. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to sing the Nickelback song on it. [SPEAKER_01]: Spider-Man song. [SPEAKER_01]: We are not going to send a Nickelback. [SPEAKER_01]: I can promise you we are not singing Nickel. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess part of this show that can't wait for a hero to say this. [SPEAKER_00]: I can stand here and wait. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be seeing it in my mind. [SPEAKER_00]: You're welcome to sign the go back all by yourself and Toledo.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Forty K. Lorcast weekly show in the Lord of the Warhammer Forty K universe, releasing every Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern, occasionally 7 a.m. Eastern. [SPEAKER_01]: Mistakes happen, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Who knows? [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you'll start becoming releasing every Monday at some time Eastern because John, we folks, loads these things at random hours the day doesn't always check what he's doing. [SPEAKER_01]: We've been wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be wrong again. [SPEAKER_01]: Please follow and comment as it does a the algorithm loves saying that but it really does And as you tell we read the comments especially we will put up you know you loaded this at the wrong AM and PM Yeah, I do as always notes in the show [SPEAKER_01]: All right, sorry, notes in the show notes. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where they are. [SPEAKER_01]: You can check our YouTube channel for our Q&A. [SPEAKER_01]: The reaction is when coming up now, there is going to be our links to Brad's channel for not Q&A's, but just lots of information.
[SPEAKER_01]: And an A, kidding. [UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha ha ha. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Also linked to our other show, the history of Forty Kay, or we talk about the game on the cable top and some of the other entertaining additions. [SPEAKER_01]: New week. [SPEAKER_01]: We talk about the game on a tabletop. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just mostly just all storytelling with a general very, very loose. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have thrown this out there for everyone. [SPEAKER_00]: Our very last episode, John typically has us on point. [SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing in everything else? [SPEAKER_00]: I just gave up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was just about to say, the very last one, he legitimately just went, [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, whatever, man, it just went out and I just go, but I have fun. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll edit it later. [SPEAKER_01]: That was what they were saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll clean up and post. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the history of 40K has become the all cleaned up and post 40K. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just a very great. [SPEAKER_00]: You just had the defeated look at your face because Alan went full Brad and went wild off the rails. [SPEAKER_01]: It was fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: I stopped every part. [SPEAKER_01]: But probably the stories are good. [SPEAKER_01]: So, and I think that's what we have this show.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk about what this game needs to be like. [SPEAKER_01]: But also, if you want to learn more about video games in the 80s and 90s, check out Retro Recall where you can learn about first-person shooters like. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Call of Duty, the original one, you know, counter strike, quake. [SPEAKER_01]: Somebody's games sucked. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of these games were awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, over the first time I played Counter Strike and discovering that maybe we shouldn't let people speak into microphones over the internet anonymously.
[SPEAKER_00]: What could possibly happen? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, you're going to hold new host of slurs. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you like this show, you want to support us though, two great ways. [SPEAKER_01]: Go to our website by our merchandise. [SPEAKER_01]: It is nice. [SPEAKER_01]: It's quality merchandise. [SPEAKER_01]: Lots of it's meant for cold weather and it's gonna be like we can cold out in the northern hemisphere soon. [SPEAKER_01]: You saw the hemispheres.
[SPEAKER_01]: There are sweatshirts. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like that alone, ma'am. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I'm obsessed with this, or you can support our Patreon. [SPEAKER_01]: Patreon is a wonderful thing that exists out there. [SPEAKER_01]: Artists are actually getting right right now and Patreon is one of the great ways to support artists in general. [SPEAKER_01]: I love Patreon. [SPEAKER_01]: I do use a lot of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Our Patreon gives you this show and the history of 40k ad free.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's $4.99 a month or $4.28 euros. [SPEAKER_01]: Because after a few weeks of me complaining about the cold, I decided to talk about summer with basically [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of this big 300 days of sunshine and perfectly tempered. [SPEAKER_01]: The winter, like the cold season, it's like high teen Celsius, so mid 60s and the summer months it gets the upper 20s Celsius, so mid 80s. [SPEAKER_01]: magical, and it's on the oceans with a sea breeze.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason for this, it's been there forever. [SPEAKER_01]: It was founded by the Phoenicians in 770 BC and it just realized this isn't Spain. [SPEAKER_01]: This is pretty far from out there. [SPEAKER_01]: So they got there, like yeah, we're just going to stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: So 2800 years or so it's been occupied. [SPEAKER_01]: And when you get there, you figure out why. [SPEAKER_01]: beautiful beaches, wonderful coast, really good seafoods, so Piscato Frito, my best catito Frito, really, really good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also a little side note, they do coffee really well, which as an American going to Europe, outside of Italy gets a little bit dicey sometimes, so at the time I can go somewhere that does coffee well, I'm a big fan. [SPEAKER_01]: Malaga is really great city for the museum buff. [SPEAKER_01]: It's got, it was the birthplace of Picasso. [SPEAKER_01]: So you've got a lot of modern art. [SPEAKER_01]: But you also have, do the age of the city, a lot of great architects.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Roman ruins, Morris ruins, obviously Catholic ruins, bunch of others all throughout the place. [SPEAKER_01]: And you can kind of visit all that while eating Spanish food, which is always a win, despite the fact that they're definition of what time dinners should start, is a little weird for some of us, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to say, I love it in Spain. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it with my favorite places to go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Although I will love, but my favorite memory of Spain, no, because my Spanish isn't great, my Spanish is okay, but my Spanish comes from South Americans. [SPEAKER_01]: And I went to Malaga where it's endolusian. [SPEAKER_01]: And I remember I was there trying to speak Spanish and the amount of times people just said, you want English? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the endolusian Spanish, I just can't not do.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they were just looking at me like, you know, and they're looking at me like, [SPEAKER_00]: and throwing down the Spanish when they tried to poison me by ruining my wine because my typical order is, I earn a bottle or anore glass. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest, it's mostly a bottle, but sometimes it's a glass, I get wine and I get my diacoke because they don't have diaddoctor syrup over there. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not know there was a thing in Spain, they put Coke and wine together.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's disgusting, isn't it? [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: They also gave it to me in a big party junk type thing, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've had Tintos. [SPEAKER_00]: Tintos who didn't, that's wine with some club soda. [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like a mini-sangria. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are good, but I'm like, well, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, [SPEAKER_01]: Alright, got me right.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to tell us all about your experiences in Spain and getting yelled at join this court, it's free. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep you back into harping on that for a while. [SPEAKER_01]: This court should all be free looking at you are of war. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a great place to interact with others, have a conversation, meet other people who are like minded and spend time with them talking about things that you both like a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Today is a really good topic for this. [SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about lore that's going to be going back 30 plus years. [SPEAKER_01]: We have people. [SPEAKER_01]: in our discord who've been playing the game for that long and it's kind of cool to have them explain to you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what it was like playing this game like I don't know epic. [SPEAKER_01]: But there are people that we actually have in dessert who can tell you about that game a lot of you might dismiss me to exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, come on in. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me find. [SPEAKER_01]: But on that note, quick disclaimer, as we get into the cast, I'm doing this each cast, there's a lot of retconning on Armageddon too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I just love the fact that you're giving the medication side effects disclaimer at the beginning. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of the end, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's let me do fair. [SPEAKER_01]: If anyone knows medication side effects, it's one of us.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I do. [SPEAKER_00]: I take some drugs to stop the side effects from the other drugs. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's always a good place to be. [SPEAKER_01]: Armageddon, too, has been in numerous codexes, numerous novels, the game epic, the game apocalypse, white dwarfs, and more. [SPEAKER_01]: There are [SPEAKER_00]: So we've been playing this game, so in GW retcon something, we may or may not remember it and we may or we may or may remember which ret- The funny thing though, I'll remember the original because this is one of the storylines that really got me going in the game when a Marmigame first came out.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why it's not because you brain had up at one point, but everything post that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all the old memories, you know, those were the way Chris you don't clear. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know you are the movie Memento anyway [SPEAKER_01]: I'm almost positive. [SPEAKER_01]: I talked to you yesterday. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into this. [SPEAKER_01]: So real quick, where we were, the planet Armageddon has a massive space.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hulk just bearing down on it. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like a small moon. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's recap a little bit on this because when they left Earth, it wasn't like they went, hey, we just showed up in Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: They meandered around the warp and real space for nine [SPEAKER_00]: battle ready force inside this space hole now with orcs juice up and ready to go and they've been doing it against demons, so they're pretty much ready to fight anybody now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're ready to party. [SPEAKER_01]: These are orcs who have, they've been fighting a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a lot bigger. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a lot stronger. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a lot meaner. [SPEAKER_01]: And also I should mention the, well, then we didn't mention last time. [SPEAKER_01]: It's made up of all different types of orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got snake bites. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got guffs. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got, uh, you know, bands.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got bad news. [SPEAKER_00]: Back booters. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got a little bit of speed free. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got a little bit of everything inside here, which is wild by the way, because they have different weaponry. [SPEAKER_00]: Also the different clans have different ways of fighting. [SPEAKER_00]: Gaz is wildly by far. [SPEAKER_00]: Even the war of the beast was he's better at least tactically getting his works to fight when we're in how he wants them to.
[SPEAKER_01]: very much so. [SPEAKER_01]: And with that, on the other side of this, you have the planet arm again, which is a world that produces more armants than almost any other world outside of a forge road in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: It has the steel legion regiment, one of the best regiments in the galaxy, for the Imperial Guard. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's a world that has fought off Angron and a chaos invasion about 500 years earlier. [SPEAKER_01]: So it has ever since that been pretty significantly reinforced.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the problem. [SPEAKER_01]: It has, while it does have Yarric on it, Yarric is not the person we know Yarric did. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, also to recap, Von Straub instead of asking for Imperium help sent a runner on an email that says, Oh, yeah, there's some thing near us that's basically a battle moon that's going to be a real problem. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, it's probably not. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be okay. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't, there's a giant space-hawk bearing down on my planet, but we got this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, the Orcs arrival on Armageddon is also, by the way, hilariously slow. [SPEAKER_01]: It takes over a month for it to get there. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's nothing but warning and the whole time in, it's just like crushing stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: But Von Straub declares it into a calactic flotsom. [SPEAKER_01]: and just says, yeah, when it gets close enough, we'll harpoon it or something, and we'll take it apart. [SPEAKER_01]: He is a caricature.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have uselessness, but he's a weird character, because he's not this bumbling fool. [SPEAKER_01]: He's actually is a very powerful character. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just bad at warfare. [SPEAKER_01]: And for example, he is, [SPEAKER_01]: the fourth son of the prior overlooked. [SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, he should not be in charge, but he isn't charged. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Because the three other sons all died. [SPEAKER_01]: He killed all of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I like the order they died in, because this is actually quite funny. [SPEAKER_01]: The first one was blown up, okay, by-strap. [SPEAKER_01]: The second one was run over, probably not by-strap, but the third one's the best one. [SPEAKER_01]: The third one, bunch of the shot him. [SPEAKER_01]: And then when the police got there, a bunch of them was holding the pistol, and he said, oh, he shot himself. [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone looked at it and went, well, you're technically going to be the next leader.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if I arrest you and you get off, I die. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, suicide. [SPEAKER_01]: This is suicide. [SPEAKER_01]: He's literally holding the gun that's smoking. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, oh, yeah, suicide. [SPEAKER_01]: Just suicide. [SPEAKER_00]: How is dad died from? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: us a spider bite which basically put a wildly lethal dose of spider yeah like new leaders of spider that number in his body and then he died so yeah Vonstrab is a backs he's a monster he can be and as a ruler he got his way a lot to he was vicious as an overlord he would punish anyone who mildly is ignored his order [SPEAKER_01]: forget, you know, in support nation, I'm saying just I say jump and you don't jump high enough, you go to the penal colony.
[SPEAKER_01]: But now the thing about Von Straub though is that he also had this kind of this success took a weird toll on him because Von Straub was kind of like a spoiled kid in a wealthy family. [SPEAKER_01]: He had a Superman complex because he was technically never wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's actually a choice to kind of shorten your thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's this is what the whole show your concept is because the whole planet only ever did what he wanted the planet to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, it always worked out. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess he never got to see if anyone else was ever correct. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, so I'm just basically watching the dictator. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God, the opening alone of that movie is hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: But the line of like, what are civil rights? [SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you later. [SPEAKER_01]: They're hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one of our favorite lines of the whole film.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's what this is. [SPEAKER_01]: So he believes he's this amazing governor. [SPEAKER_01]: This amazing like an economy. [SPEAKER_01]: He's an amazing military mind everything. [SPEAKER_01]: So he, to him, he's the smartest man in the entire galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: So you can get to imagine what's about to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to call this out because they do this a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: So the beginning of anything bad, always happens on some sort of holiday, which by the way, this is the worst holiday for the Imperial- It's a dumbest holiday.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is the first ascension. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, it's the day that he got killed, basically, by his stock on the golden throne. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, is our big holiday for the day that he died. [SPEAKER_01]: At least for Christians when they sell a big Christmas, it's the birth of Christ, not, you know, if we had Christmas on the day that he got shove on the cross, it'd be kind of mean by being honest, like, you know, just thrown out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what this is. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not Christmas. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't open presents on it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's my point. [SPEAKER_00]: I know I know it's a day. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm aware of that. [SPEAKER_01]: Jews do Passover. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm aware of how these things work. [SPEAKER_01]: But my point is still you don't do. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, let's give out a bunch of gifts in the day that do died a horrible death. [SPEAKER_00]: Man, so anyway, okay, so this happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: Strava legitimately still does not give a shit is orcs are making planet fall. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why hate him so much on this map. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the planet fall. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's discuss the word planet and fall real quick, because they all end it falling towards the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the orcs planet fall was planet, which was, you know, the space Hulk falling into other planets. [SPEAKER_00]: They land on the moon on the [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they also had people outside of this somehow, because they didn't die, a bunch of works were just chilling. [SPEAKER_00]: However, this was actually the moment York did look like that. [SPEAKER_00]: So York effectively just says absolutely no. [SPEAKER_00]: And since out of full-destroying, you know, flips open the plastic hatch and hits the big red button and says, we need some help right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, also, who do we need?
[SPEAKER_00]: He does the the [SPEAKER_00]: in the professional everyone. [SPEAKER_01]: to which Von Straub loses his mind, by the way, and Von Straub takes Yarkin's sense into hive-hades, just all right, that's it, you're not allowed to be anywhere cool, you're going to hive-hades, get out of here, because Von Straub really was convinced that he and him and his PDF and what steel legion was there, which and their superior abilities really of Von Straub, which is take care of this, because it works, whenever I will deal with this, it's a small defense [SPEAKER_01]: And I will pseudo-defend Von Strappier, and that thing is correct, but Von Strapp is coming at the orcs having never encountered anything like this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yark knows what's happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Von Strapp is assuming he's fighting an orc rating party, which comes through the galaxy all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you could maybe a hundred orks, my thousand orks roll back at my head at Jen's talk about this, he sucks a tornado and he kill gets so many people killed because he basically says, all right, I've been watching a lot of kung food movies. [SPEAKER_00]: What we should do is send out small groups to get murdered and we'll just keep sending a little bit at a time out to make sure they always get killed with perhaps a little gain.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was because he's used to org raiders, the thing about org raiders, those of us who playing playing the game for a while. [SPEAKER_01]: The way org org orgs have bad leadership. [SPEAKER_01]: That's always the org thing. [SPEAKER_01]: This is where a job made them a stick. [SPEAKER_01]: An org group, I think, might now have leadership to average a six. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're all two d six. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's deal with it. [SPEAKER_01]: I have a little [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get the old school in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: So just people are saying the way it would work is you have a squad and if they fail a leadership you'd roll two six sided dice and those two six sided dice had to be under under a six right so you two D six under a six. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, not that bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's doable. [SPEAKER_01]: Now the fun thing about orgs though, is if you have a lot of works. [SPEAKER_01]: that leadership goes up so orcs had a fun rule which said you could either have your leadership be the number six written on the gone card or the number of orcs on the board at a part of the unit which and they were just on 30 third yeah and according to your next to it so the cool thing about rolling two six sided dice and having to roll less than 30 [SPEAKER_01]: pretty easy to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what Straub, yeah, very, because that's what Straub screwed up. [SPEAKER_01]: Straub was expecting to be able to clap the Orcs real hard and they would just run away, like every rating party ever. [SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't expecting there to be million, two million, three million, ten million Orcs coming out of this thing, who are now effectively immune to leadership deaths. [SPEAKER_01]: this didn't go great. [SPEAKER_01]: In addition, all the people he'd sent to the landing site, air quotes on landing site there, by the way, of the Space Hulk, were told there's basically a few works in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you see them shoot them and then move on with your day, the orcs come rocketing out of this thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do love the fact that [SPEAKER_00]: they said we got to least a week before we have any resistance. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, in a week, they took the Armageddon prime, but we'll get into that tomorrow. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, Hive Irving got to destroy it. [SPEAKER_01]: Lou, one hive went away on the landing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The way strong. [SPEAKER_01]: had no idea what was coming and so they just come wrecking out so he loses a giant chunk of the offense out the gate because they're just standing there not in a defensive formation, not even in defensive positions and you know it's that a million orcs come flying out of it and they are riled up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 11th edition reference. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, and so this is just a mess out the gate.
[SPEAKER_01]: to make matters worse is that Strav now has to agree that there are orcs, but he still insists they're just silly dumb weak orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: Because again, the imperial primer is very clear about this. [SPEAKER_01]: In the imperial primer, it says quote, an orc is an unworthy foe, little more than an animal that has by some twist of nature, a very basic understanding of their rudiments of technology. [SPEAKER_01]: But a man armed with a las gun and a knowledge of their physiology has nothing to fear from these abominations.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Vonstrab using such critical knowledge as that, devise the cunning plan. [SPEAKER_01]: He was going to wipe the works out and salvage the space hub for himself. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, absolutely not. [SPEAKER_01]: Not even the ballpark. [SPEAKER_01]: He, the PDFs had no chance against this. [SPEAKER_01]: They went out there prepared to fight. [SPEAKER_01]: Really, the other problem we have to is that the forces on Armageddon have been training and preparing with the exception of the Steel Legion who are being created to leave and go fight elsewhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: The PDF, there's mostly designed to fight uprisings. [SPEAKER_01]: They're meant to fight the penal colonies when they get upset, with a bunch of workers who are mostly poisoned, holding like a pickaxe. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not ready for an orc gargant. [SPEAKER_01]: That is now coming out of this thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And the orcs are just [SPEAKER_01]: lightning striking them with overwhelming power and it's just it's over. [SPEAKER_01]: But now Von Straub is in the back foot.
[SPEAKER_01]: So next he has another great idea. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the I'm going to where I said all right. [SPEAKER_00]: This is what I was touching on. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: He just sends people out effectively to die with absolutely nothing gain. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he could suddenly sort he's out to get obliterated and get [SPEAKER_00]: Hey. [SPEAKER_01]: There's literally no gain whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: He starts taking the hives who are now under assault, by the way, and any hives that's not under assault, he then takes the PDF, because the hives are assault, but some of those fortresses that are not part of the hive.
[SPEAKER_01]: So then instead of taking the forces and those fortresses and moving them to the hive to reinforce, he attacks like a flank. [SPEAKER_01]: which might work if you were attacking with more than 500 dudes at a million orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: And the orcs just kind of look over there and go, I kill that and then go right back to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Effectively they gain nothing and very quickly this begins to fall apart. [SPEAKER_01]: will be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only positive for the defenders is that the vast majority of it is on Armageddon Prime. [SPEAKER_01]: There's some stuff landed in the fireweights in the Deadlands, but the overwhelming bulk, because that's actually where World Killer landed, was on Armageddon Prime. [SPEAKER_01]: So Arm again, Sekundas start sending reinforcements, but that's kind of pointless at this point, because Faun Straub then uses them to go fight, so it's just like, this is just...
[SPEAKER_00]: Arm again, Brian Falls, the biggest time city falls within a week. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I wouldn't even even less, but we're going to talk about it in a minute, because at gas hand some issues for a little bit, or it wouldn't even worse. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, yeah, so what happens is, I'm going to prime falls, [SPEAKER_01]: only two of the five work tribes are used in the conflict. [SPEAKER_01]: So three of the 40% of the works are engaged.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they don't know where the other 60% are. [SPEAKER_01]: Vonstra by the way is convinced it's because those guys are bored. [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone's like, no, they're being held and reserved to attack and it's like, nah, you guys are crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: The while this is going on, it makes it even worse though, is all this activity, because these are orcs, remember, starts to create a warp storm in the system, meaning that travel in and out of the system is now getting messed up.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, while those distress calls had gone out, [SPEAKER_01]: no one's getting into the system or at least nowhere near the system and they can no longer reach out of the system because now effectively they're cut off because there's just too much warps psychic activity and so they're now all the way cut off. [SPEAKER_01]: Another one though of super success is despite Von Straub being an Armageddon Prime, he doesn't die. [SPEAKER_01]: And he ends up on Armageddon's secundance, is he flees?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Where he comes up with another genius plan. [SPEAKER_00]: I do know that it's here. [SPEAKER_00]: I got to jump it on this because anybody playing right now knows that equatorial alerts are wildly powerful. [SPEAKER_00]: I like the idea of equatorial alerts because this death force, no one exactly, no one goes into, or it's just thought this was a good time. [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, this place is crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we talked about it last time. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a jungle in the middle of the Armageddon main continent, and it is very jungley. [SPEAKER_01]: It is very dense. [SPEAKER_01]: It is highly polluted. [SPEAKER_00]: Kill you. [SPEAKER_00]: The toxic everything. [SPEAKER_00]: You touch a plant. [SPEAKER_00]: It might die. [SPEAKER_00]: You might either die from the toxicity of the plant or actually it tries to attack you with poison vines that rip your face off.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the orcs were just like, this place is awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: We should stay here forever. [SPEAKER_01]: But Von Straub doesn't know this. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the nice defensive advantage you get of this is there's only one road going through it. [SPEAKER_01]: So Von Straub's next plan as well, the Orcs, they have prime, but if they want to come to secundice, they have to go down this one road. [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll just artillery the hell out of them that they try to come through that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Problem solved. [SPEAKER_01]: No more Orcs. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, now that there's no death plants. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, there were two problems with it. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's that. [SPEAKER_01]: The other problem is there's something there on Armageddon called the season of shadows. [SPEAKER_01]: The season of shadows for those of us who remember long enough to win all of a sudden anyone in Europe couldn't leave Europe because Iceland decide to have a volcano explode.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the entire planet. [SPEAKER_01]: So all of volcanoes, [SPEAKER_01]: All go off basically the same time and it blots out the song. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually think the higher people Because of the warp storm and everything else. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's annual. [SPEAKER_01]: It's annual. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but I'm saying. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think talk about how it's been. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I think it works.
[SPEAKER_00]: But guess knows guess is making a wildly great plan. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, he's a tactical monster, especially for an work. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is the entire planet defenders have is we're going to see this column of orcs moving through the road and we'll just hammer them, but now we can't see it because the sky is blocked out. [SPEAKER_01]: We have nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: So they start blind firing into it, but that's all they've got.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then to Brad's point, another problem shows up. [SPEAKER_01]: the snake bites just emerged by the way from a job. [SPEAKER_01]: The best works. [SPEAKER_01]: John thinks it's the goffs. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a golf guy. [SPEAKER_00]: The snake bites are my favorite because they are orcs that think that the new orcs are using newfangle technology. [SPEAKER_00]: They're basically grumpy old orcs that go, get off my lawn using your new craze.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do like snake bites, but jump on your dinosaur and run. [SPEAKER_01]: It got so cool there, but yeah, so the snake bites come out of just a chunk of the really thick jungle to Brad's book because they went in there They were like, that place is awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: I did you guys see that and they had effectively just cut a new hole through it as Orcs will do with a jungle like hey, this plant tried to kill me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I killed it back and I made it up pet That's just that's what that's all that they do.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they've emerged now in the wrong spot. [SPEAKER_01]: This isn't ideal over the rug spots [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they brought toys with them. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm a cause. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a, come on, man. [SPEAKER_00]: There's never been another fight where an orcs stop a effectively head infiltrate because this is what happened. [SPEAKER_00]: You got surprised by stop us. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, stop us wagons, bungeys trucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Take everything. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there were killer cans, death dreads. [SPEAKER_01]: Every single thing comes out of the show and it keeps coming out of the jungle. [SPEAKER_01]: And the funny is that's why the season of shadow is so a big deal because Orcs give off a lot of smoke. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Orcs feels like they're they run like [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, their old special rule is they got a cover save because of the amount of smoke they kick off.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you could. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because the other vehicles were so crappy. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So they wouldn't have been able to see this all happening, but because of all the about kind of got to be they missed it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the orcs just came out of the jungle with everything they infiltrated to Brad's point, an entire army. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the ad mech were present on the planet and the ad mech do have this really awesome little fight scene here and they do it and it's pretty badass.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a guy named Prince that Madaheim and Matt Madaheim does. [SPEAKER_01]: basically a suicide charge. [SPEAKER_01]: There's worktightness. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a six-fold million work in finchetti. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, those swags is tight legions. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll just add back into them. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to put out six million orc adventure. [SPEAKER_01]: I looked it up. [SPEAKER_01]: This was written in 1992. [SPEAKER_01]: 1992, orc infantry were nobs, boys, free booters were their own thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember scar boys. [SPEAKER_01]: I miss scar boys. [SPEAKER_01]: Storm boys and looters. [SPEAKER_01]: Take away my looters. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got a lot of looters and they're all not part of the game legend. [SPEAKER_01]: No, they're not. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm going to be a slayer. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to fight also. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, but that's what's so Prince at Monahime takes his titans right in and he is massively upguned because again, there's [SPEAKER_01]: And he does the greatest thing you possibly can do.
[SPEAKER_01]: He starts fighting the stompers. [SPEAKER_01]: And as he realizes his titans going down, he does what any good titan player does. [SPEAKER_01]: He spends the command point of auto-exploders. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of opportunity for 3D-6 range, 2D-6 explosion. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not using the 11 edition of roles. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm using the back one, these explosions were cooler. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he used to be 3D-6 range, and then 2D-6 damage.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, eight edition, much magical. [SPEAKER_01]: And doing so, he takes out two other gargants. [SPEAKER_01]: Hands of thousands of memories. [SPEAKER_00]: And on the Titans, it was three, six times two. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_00]: I remember this because I had a depticon game where the guy blew up 36 inches sitting in the middle of his deployments up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, said he lost. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we call the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cause all of his guests are dead. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go home now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you should. [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's not ideal. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I will say Prince at Monahime dies, but one fun thing of Prince at Monahime is comes up later. [SPEAKER_01]: And our next guest has a great quote. [SPEAKER_01]: It's recorded. [SPEAKER_01]: And he prefers to Von Straub as the greatest waste of flesh and bone born the last 500 years.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he made sure that was recorded and written down before he went out to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: funny side story on this is more of it a flashback before this is going on back on Armageddon Prime when the [SPEAKER_01]: Orcs are still fighting. [SPEAKER_01]: Vachav almost was successful because the Orcs as they were landing Daz was struggling. [SPEAKER_01]: Daz was leading, but he's always wore counsel meetings. [SPEAKER_01]: No J. Meaton.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not. [SPEAKER_01]: Meaton. [SPEAKER_01]: Put his hand. [SPEAKER_01]: He could lose. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: How there is more bosses. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the other war bosses wouldn't follow him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he can't see, he no longer has his visions of morking gork and he starts to lose confidence and losing confidence. [SPEAKER_00]: Effectively made him be less powerful, and we'll also, this is all Maddox fault, but yes, yeah, and you, it was realizing where's McCarrie?
[SPEAKER_01]: I need my lucky drop. [SPEAKER_01]: Where's my lucky garage? [SPEAKER_01]: And around the same time, I remember McCarrie was dead. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, around this time, he's alive again, a sort of a, there's a grot and wakes up in a little tunnel because grots, they breed grots that eat them, let's sort of work stew. [SPEAKER_01]: And he wakes up in a tunnel and so he wakes up a bunch of org boys start shooting down the tunnel. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love this story.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love this story. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Grots all wake up and immediately a bunch of boys start shooting all the grots. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, because gas told all of his boys, I need a lucky grot. [SPEAKER_01]: And the only way to find a lucky grot is to go try and kill all the grots. [SPEAKER_01]: And if any of them get lucky and survive, that's a lucky grot. [SPEAKER_01]: That is exactly [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So while these orcs are trying to kill the grots, one of the orcs shoots his shoot his shoot a hits a piece of metal, which rick a chase back and hits him in the leg and makes the orcs fall down, which makes all other boys laugh.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they go, ooh, that's a lucky grot. [SPEAKER_01]: So they grab him not nicely, by the way, and drag this grot back to to gas. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's, it was, it's McCarrie reincarnated. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and no, this is why it's funny. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what it's always great. [SPEAKER_01]: They take this grot back throw him at gas. [SPEAKER_01]: Gas then is sitting there with his power claw, sitting basically in the fire.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then does the saraman and puts the power claw on top of this grots head, at which point all of McCarrie's memories come back into the grot and the grot becomes McCarrie again. [SPEAKER_01]: It's quite a guy's super happy because he gets his drop. [SPEAKER_00]: It can also throw the throws off the influence immediately of Maddock. [SPEAKER_00]: It becomes back to vision questing with Gork and Mork and tell it gets also kind of gets the backhand a couple of the war bosses and gets everybody back in line again and we're ready to roll.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is magical. [SPEAKER_01]: So the car is back, gazes back, and all of gazes, power is come kick on. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we are over on Sikundas and the hives are beginning to fall. [SPEAKER_01]: The destruction of the titan support orcs are pouring through. [SPEAKER_01]: The first hive the fall is in furnace, which actually surrendered. [SPEAKER_01]: It was surrounded by effectively limitless orcs, and their leader went, yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so we surrender and they got lucky because we're headed to Orcs who were like, we're not just going to kill all of them. [SPEAKER_01]: And they turned them all into indentured service. [SPEAKER_00]: And later. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is one of my five. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's say no, with the Orcs also, our semi-cute use of this because they're just like, why aren't they fighting? [SPEAKER_00]: Why are they throwing down? [SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, you know what, we're going to make you are four sleepers.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to do this. [SPEAKER_00]: And people with this is slightly better than [SPEAKER_00]: My work was before. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's basically any one of the upper level of the hive was like, this is a bullshit. [SPEAKER_01]: This is horrible. [SPEAKER_01]: They went the lower side of the hive was like, so Tuesday. [SPEAKER_01]: We're on Tuesday. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this seems like this seems better than Tuesday. [SPEAKER_01]: This is casual Friday.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do these crops are kind of funny. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, we said some entertainment going on. [SPEAKER_01]: But from there, it spreads out. [SPEAKER_01]: So you have one group moves towards high fades in the north. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll get there in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: Another towards Hell's Reach in the South, and a few more towards Akaron in the east. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is just, it's just too much. [SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna overwhelm it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But once again, Von Straub to the rescue, he has another secret weapon that he's ready to deploy. [SPEAKER_01]: So his family, it turns out, had been entrusted with an ancient supply of virus bomb missiles. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's listed as they were placed there when Armageddon was first colonized, but they don't say which time. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, this was like the eighth or ninth story we've talked about, where somewhat just goes, hey, man, there's a bunch of planet killing missiles in the basement.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is the planet killing missiles? [SPEAKER_00]: All the time in the basement. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're there, so he goes in there and Von Straub learns a cool thing when he presses the button, turns out you're supposed to maintain missiles. [SPEAKER_01]: So he hits the button and a cork off any of things occur. [SPEAKER_01]: First off, a bunch of them just fail to arm until the missile just crashes into the York.
[SPEAKER_01]: Doing nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: Others explode in the launch pads, dispersing the virus. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, in his civilians, yeah, others actually arm fire off and then go in land in a hive because they're not there. [SPEAKER_01]: And a few do actually hit the orcs, but nowhere near enough numbers to really affect anything. [SPEAKER_01]: And after this vonstrop does kind of give up, he just decides to get sat and he moves himself to the furthest inland hive, basically that as far as he possibly can [SPEAKER_01]: But when a door closes, another one opens, or if that's stupid saying is, it's a now we get to talk about the greatest badass and the history of anything ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, he doesn't just fortify Hades, he also fortify the other, which got smoke shit. [SPEAKER_00]: But it did hold so for a while. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Yarrick this whole time has not been idle. [SPEAKER_01]: He is working tirelessly on making everything better. [SPEAKER_01]: Folks are going to unheese first because he's there. [SPEAKER_01]: But he's also sharing his knowledge. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of the hives ignore him because they have their great and powerful leader bond straw.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to have a whole curtain of nothing to see behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_01]: but you can only watch someone like charge forward and stub their toe enough times for you go. [SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we check what the other guy's doing? [SPEAKER_01]: And Yara's advice begins to spread because Yara knows one overarching truth. [SPEAKER_01]: The Orcs have the size and the scope to conquer Armageddon. [SPEAKER_01]: full stop the forces present even with a steel Legion and everything else even if from the beginning they'd had a proper leader they would not have defeated this force they need time.
[SPEAKER_01]: The distress call has gone out there will be an imperial reaction he needs to hold out until that imperial reaction gets there. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: what he needs is the force of Armageddon to give them something to respond to because if they don't do a good enough job, the impereing might just show up and accept it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, you guys are, this looks like it's going to be messy. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's just blow up the plan.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I want that not to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I think he knows that he's going to make this a grinder because he can't win. [SPEAKER_00]: Like right now, their forces cannot win, but absolutely not. [SPEAKER_00]: They just need to hold out until [SPEAKER_00]: The Marines show up basically and they need to show up until the big force comes back. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's out of the Marines or the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't know or in the middle of Garth. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't know which one, but one of them's going to show up. [SPEAKER_00]: Either way, they need to sit and he also, he needs to start making this a grinder basically making it slow this game down. [SPEAKER_00]: Get into the late rounds. [SPEAKER_00]: Stairs take it some primaries in the second days. [SPEAKER_00]: But the other thing is he wants to, he's fought ors before and right now he realizes these orcs are wildly too smart, too tactful, they're making great decisions.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a multi-pronged offensive that makes sense. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not just orcs running in wild directions, which orcs typically do. [SPEAKER_00]: They just go, I want to fight somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll fight the closest thing. [SPEAKER_00]: So your quads to try to, [SPEAKER_00]: poke the bear. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, if I can get these guys psyched up, they'll start making ugly mistakes. [SPEAKER_00]: They'll start making it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They'll just want to get in. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, if I step, you know, give them the shiny thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's go fight the shiny thing. [SPEAKER_01]: I fought orgs all over. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And the other thing too, he knows that works are weird about a good fight. [SPEAKER_01]: They like a good fight. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't like a losing fight. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's noticing is there are multiple plans here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that doesn't make sense. [SPEAKER_01]: These plans shouldn't be fighting together. [SPEAKER_01]: They should be fighting each other. [SPEAKER_01]: And he wants to make them start doing that. [SPEAKER_01]: And he knows if he can make one plan lose or one can and look bad, they'll start fighting each other. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I'll survive. [SPEAKER_01]: But how's he going to do it? [SPEAKER_01]: 18 montage, basically. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going 18 for this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: You like these McGyver, but I think 18's better. [SPEAKER_01]: So first thing Yark does is he needs scrappy fighters who can defend the hive better than the pdf can because he works going to attack all over the place and that's kind of create an issue. [SPEAKER_01]: The hives are mostly unmapped for being honest because you know the lower hives. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the lower hives. [SPEAKER_01]: because will they exist because as cheap labor, but they also do a legal gray area.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one really knows what's down there, except for who lives down there. [SPEAKER_01]: And Yark knows that an orc invasion could come right through the, isn't going to come through the upper hive. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to come straight through there. [SPEAKER_01]: So he needs some of the commander of the region. [SPEAKER_01]: At the same time, the lower hives are controlled by hive gangs, which are basically malicious. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you're saying, it's maybe I love it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, please imagine. [SPEAKER_00]: It's awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well-trained killers. [SPEAKER_01]: Two birds, one soaps of york does some of here. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is again, I love york. [SPEAKER_01]: He goes to lower hives. [SPEAKER_01]: He offers them kind of a deal, a deal which they gain really nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, I will give you weapons and you can join the defense of the hive. [SPEAKER_01]: And then afterwards, you know, you can, you can join the upper echelons of society.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, this is the yard deal. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why you such a crazy hardcore. [SPEAKER_00]: Because, all right, I'm going to give you weapons, armament. [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to defend the hive or you're going to kill by your arcs. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, what do we get a return for this? [SPEAKER_00]: Just told you, you're going to fight the arcs or you can kill or you're killed by the arcs. [SPEAKER_01]: Go through your two choices.
[SPEAKER_00]: After the fights over what do we gain? [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: Your life shut up and hold the gun. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You're still going to be in the lower hive when this is done. [SPEAKER_01]: You want nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Put the lower hive won't have a bunch of orcs stabbing you. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, and look at all over the hive went like and actually it's kind of a fair deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: No problem. [SPEAKER_01]: And they all joined up and they become pretty damn helpful and Yark also then shares this with the other hives who offer similar terms to their lower hives who have the same realization of like yeah those things those big green things of mean [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a pretty good like hive ganger, but I'm pretty confident that won't go well. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'll take the rifle now, please. [SPEAKER_01]: At the same time, Yorick's looking to improvise defenses, because Vonstrop had squandered a ton of what could have been.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just said, has he sent the best equipped parts of the PDF and the former steel agent out the fight the work? [SPEAKER_01]: So all the best equipment is sitting somewhere out in the planes of Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, molder. [SPEAKER_00]: It is crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: This is where I say it's not as much a team. [SPEAKER_00]: It's more of a guy for on this because everything that can't be fully made into, you know, scrapped into something else, they make so many straight up missile bombs out of, yeah, everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's 18. [SPEAKER_01]: The 18 were the ones who would take like, they're on to take bulldozers. [SPEAKER_00]: The show actually had kind of suck on things on this business. [SPEAKER_01]: They're the ones who would like to take. [SPEAKER_01]: No one ever died. [SPEAKER_01]: It was weird. [SPEAKER_01]: But they start generating vehicles to turn them into any weapon they can. [SPEAKER_01]: It does get a little dark, though. [SPEAKER_01]: I will admit that because some of the stuff, you know, they're patching holes, making blockades.
[SPEAKER_01]: Others, it's also a side bombing. [SPEAKER_01]: So one story is the orcs are pressing down on high pays and hell's reach, and the human defender is just start doing suicide counterattacks driving trucks full of this a mining planet. [SPEAKER_01]: They've got explosives and they're driving. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a little bit blousey of trucks. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're low on big tanks and everything else. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what they have a lot of.
[SPEAKER_00]: explosives to mind with. [SPEAKER_01]: We yeah, I did realize this was all written well before we had a lot of like terrorism. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, look at my like, wow, this is kind of like messed up like, oh, yeah, 94. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, fair enough, because they really are their driving literal trucks filled with explosives into the Yorks and then blowing it up. [SPEAKER_00]: And then just one of the other also drop in tunnels on them and everything else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one of the crazy ones with Hell's Reach, Hell's Reach, all of a sudden, you know, they're doing this and the Orcs get fed up with it. [SPEAKER_01]: They start marching stomp as towards them. [SPEAKER_01]: And Hell's Reach looks like it was, well, what do we do? [SPEAKER_01]: And they had a bunch of loading cranes. [SPEAKER_01]: and they just they turned them into kill those or is by just putting a bunch of playing on them and then put the wrecking ball on it and throw them with explosives then drove them out and just swung the wrecking ball into the stop us until the stop got closer and they blow it up.
[SPEAKER_01]: eventually hell's reached did fall to the orcs in the orcs didn't treat it very well. [SPEAKER_01]: But you, while it's happening, Hades holds, and it holds, it gazes getting mad, real mad, because high Hades, we should explain high Hades sits just outside the jump. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's [SPEAKER_01]: of the jungle, but high Hades is holding.
[SPEAKER_01]: And guys, this isn't so much mistreated, it's just more annoying. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, why is that still there? [SPEAKER_01]: It will not fall to the forces of gas. [SPEAKER_01]: And it is, it's no matter what they just want to fall. [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why is because YARIC. [SPEAKER_01]: Yarric, he's welded all these port ship, but what Yarric's doing really well is counter-attack. [SPEAKER_01]: So, as the Orcs come in, Yarric would do, as he would defend defend defend, and when the Orcs would bring up siege craft, he'd rush out and attack the siege craft and then rush back in.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, the Orcs kept banging their head against the stupid wall. [SPEAKER_01]: He would also give ground, and that's what he did. [SPEAKER_01]: toppled tunnels on him, bring buildings down on them. [SPEAKER_01]: The orcs are just he was basically doing up. [SPEAKER_01]: He was doing a true serobin or he would bravely run away over and over again. [SPEAKER_00]: Also doing a scorched earth campaign because they were blowing up every time they couldn't take can't hold this ground anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's just not make it ground. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, gas eventually has enough. [SPEAKER_01]: And he finds Uglhardt. [SPEAKER_01]: Uglhardt is a snake bite war boss. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's a big war boss. [SPEAKER_01]: He was the lead war boss of the snake bites. [SPEAKER_01]: And he and Uglhardt, he says, go get this hive. [SPEAKER_01]: And Uglhardt looks at him and goes, I have a cunning plan. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess a lot of boys and runs at them as fast as he can and he charges with always and do fair, this is a crushing charge, wrecking steel legion pdf, they're pointing guys out the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: But as they get through that york sees this, and york turns, because york, by the way, is the origin of drive me closer, so I may hit him with my sword. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a york maneuver. [SPEAKER_01]: York takes his command vehicle and drives a right towards Ullhardt. [SPEAKER_01]: And remember, [SPEAKER_01]: Yark speaks ork. [SPEAKER_01]: As Yark gets closer to Uglhard, he on a loudspeaker in Ork, challenges him to a duel, which halts all the fighting, because the Ork's first office had a Huey speak to them in Ork, which is a little off-play.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, off-play. [SPEAKER_01]: But second off, their war boss just got challenged to [SPEAKER_01]: by, and they want to see who did that. [SPEAKER_01]: And they see, I mean, Google Hard, we don't know how big he is, but it's reasonable to assume he's pushing three meters. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a 15 feet, maybe maybe as low as 12 feet. [SPEAKER_01]: Yarric is at best six feet. [SPEAKER_01]: So two, best over two meters at best.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they see a human step out and go, [SPEAKER_01]: All right, I got to see. [SPEAKER_01]: I got to watch this like I got a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, basically, I'm going to get back to killing all of you humans in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm watching this. [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be hilarious, which doesn't hurt Google or shitty for yard by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, Google hard looks at this and just goes, I killing you and Google hard, like any good war boss has a power claw.
[SPEAKER_01]: and just rushes over and just starts racking. [SPEAKER_01]: They start fighting. [SPEAKER_01]: Yarnick does defend a little bit with his chainsword, but eventually, Ogohar gets a hold of Yarrick's right arm, which is his pistol arm with his powerful and just crushes it. [SPEAKER_01]: The problem with doing that is it also brought Yarrick a lot closer. [SPEAKER_01]: Yarrick's left arm had a chainsword in it, in which he removed Ogohar's head with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And as Ogil Hart fell to the ground, Yark, who's now missing an arm, more against an arm's crushed, then shops the power claw off with the other arm, and you look at the model. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why Yark has a power claw because he had the guys attach it to his cutoff crushed arm. [SPEAKER_01]: And then raises it over his head and begins yelling at which point the orcs went, nope, nope, orcs ran away. [SPEAKER_01]: This, this, you me is nuts.
[SPEAKER_01]: We are gone and they all leave. [SPEAKER_01]: And the next part of this, by the way, is canon. [SPEAKER_01]: After all the orcs had fled, it was at this smoke that York allowed himself to pass out from the pain. [SPEAKER_01]: He stayed conscious this whole time and he allowed himself to pass out from the pain at this moment. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it allowed himself. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that is canon within the epic, because the first time I saw this, but that is canon.
[SPEAKER_01]: When he awakens, the power clause firmly attached, but also his left eye was heavily damaged. [SPEAKER_01]: and y'all know something. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that he literally went to cue from James Bond and went eyes messed up. [SPEAKER_00]: What can I put in it? [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, I got you fan and put a less gun eye. [SPEAKER_00]: He literally is a blazer eye. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a real [SPEAKER_01]: he has a laser eye. [SPEAKER_01]: It is an attack.
[SPEAKER_01]: He actually can shoot a laser out of his eye because the thing was the orcs had been speaking about him having a weird eye because he did have one. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when and he wanted it to be an evil eye because he wanted to strike fear in all of the orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: So now Yara has a power claw and an even an evil eye. [SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, back at the camp, all the retreating snake bites are spreading this rumor about this terrible human who's like, who's running this head as high, and he's there superhuman because he did to be fair.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is. [SPEAKER_01]: He just killed a snake bite war boss in hand to hand combat. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to end again or most talk about the fact that when it weren't to believe in something and happen, so they're basically firing it up. [SPEAKER_00]: for y'all to be more powerful. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's so, yeah, but it's probably always in y'all is alive by the way at this point because he should be very much so dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, eventually, here's this and just gets, no. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the biggest. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the strongest. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the smartest. [SPEAKER_01]: I am going to go and kill that human myself, so gas decides he is going to lead the assault on Haiti's hive to deal with Yara himself, and that's obviously where we're going to break, because next cast, we're getting to the conclusion of Armageddon. [SPEAKER_01]: And then go to Golgotha, which is actually even funnier, because the truth is, is like, we have to learn a jetting hat in there, because Armageddon is fun for the Yarik story.
[SPEAKER_01]: Golgothas, where the Yarik story gets to be epic, and it's maybe the best, one of my favorite orks stories, even though it's about Yarik, but I don't care, it's just fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: You'll see we all see some other because the truth is like this is I think the best rivalry between Yarric and Gazz is the best rivalry in 40k because it's actually cheeky and fun as opposed to all the other ones They're cruel and tragic This one's not Awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a good reference, but some people will get it But until then we'll cover that next week John Barzati, Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This guy. [SPEAKER_00]: See you guys next week [UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
