Episode notes
On today’s cast we begin our coverage of the 2nd war of Armageddon (seriously this place sucks!). With an opening on the planet itself, how it got there, how it is structured, and why it is so important. Then we jump (obviously) into the Steel Legion and their value to the imperium, as well as their unique way of “adhering” to the codex. From there we jump over to the origin story of the great and only Yarrick!! Only to then talk about the equally amazing but greener Ghaz! We then close out talking about the arrival of Ghaz and the orks on Armageddon. Patreon Merchandise Discord Link: Our…

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Forty Kaylor Castle. [SPEAKER_00]: Me jump our Saudi and Brett Chester. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, today we are jumping into the second War of Armageddon with a dive and a gas. [SPEAKER_00]: Yarric, Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the steel legion, because Armageddon is just a really horrible place. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, really, really, really horrible place.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, let it plus side. [SPEAKER_01]: Orcler, yay. [SPEAKER_01]: This is an in-orcler. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, ad-meck, oops of desing, a planet. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, how did no one catch this? [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I'm starting off with this before we give the intro. [SPEAKER_01]: They literally went, hey, we're just going to put this gigantic planet by the way, it is huge over here. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we're going to name it Steve instead of a little an hour and pretend that it's something else.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's one of those like, they changed some data somewhere at some cogeotator, and everyone might like, oh, yeah, it's always been there. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they blew up a planet to do it, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Tell us about what the 40 Kloric Harris, 40 Kloric, as a weekly show focused in the Lord of the Warmer 40 K universe, releasing every Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern. [SPEAKER_00]: Please, as always, because like every podcast you're on earth says, follow and comment, why do we all say that because it helps our algorithm and pushes us out to more people?
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're no different. [SPEAKER_00]: Please do that. [SPEAKER_00]: I do get to read the comments. [SPEAKER_00]: They're fun and also it pushes us out to more people. [SPEAKER_01]: So thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: I have them up right now. [SPEAKER_01]: That was another thing. [SPEAKER_00]: In addition, we always have links in our show notes, the links will take you to our YouTube channel, where we do monthly Q&A. [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll be doing one in September.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've committed to it. [SPEAKER_00]: We're doing it in September. [SPEAKER_00]: Can't really guys just truthfully, I've been playing a lot of 40k this month. [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's Brad and plus life, I just didn't have time. [SPEAKER_00]: But we'll get to it in September. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you're listening to this sometime in the future September was in the past you can come check on it It also have a link to our other show the history of 40k where we talk about the history of the game on the tabletop with our friend Alan Mostly talking about it got those shots show gets off the rails horribly, but it's still we cover it most [SPEAKER_00]: Good last one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Woo! [SPEAKER_00]: Just off the rails. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you love the sound of my voice, you can check me out on my show Retro Recall, where I play old video games and talk about if they were good or not. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are good. [SPEAKER_00]: Or, if you just look at what Brad's voice, you check out the Brad channel and have Brad talk about competitive 40K and people's lists. [SPEAKER_00]: If you look at the Brad channel now, yes, it's just the Brad channel.
[SPEAKER_00]: As always, like any podcast or you can always support us and one way to support us is buy our merchandise. [SPEAKER_00]: We have stickers as Brad's a big fan of. [SPEAKER_00]: We have beer glasses. [SPEAKER_00]: We might have wine glasses. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have wine glasses. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got sweatshirts, t-shirts, everything, or you can also, if you don't like listening to the advertisements, [SPEAKER_00]: Pick up our Patreon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Patreon is a great way to support people and if you pick up our Patreon, you get this show and the history of 40K, add free and it's only $4.99 a month or $747.89 Argentine pesos because I'm still not over this whole cold thing in Northern Southern Hemisphere. [SPEAKER_00]: And I had, so I looked up again, I wanted to know, okay, but what is the coldest city in the southern hemisphere, the people actually live in? [SPEAKER_00]: And I found it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Ushoya, which I've been browsing incorrectly, Ushoya, Argentina, where the winter temperature averages around a terrifying borderline inhumane temperature of 0.1c, all snooze is 32.2 Fahrenheit, screw you guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I also looked this up because this is Brattle appreciate this, they have a record for their coldest day in history. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the coldest city in the Southern Hemisphere. [SPEAKER_00]: And their coldest day in history was negative 10 Celsius, which is 12 to negative 12 Fahrenheit.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I looked it up this year, January 24th, 2026. [SPEAKER_00]: It was colder than that at my house. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and only her all long time also. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is bullshit. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the reason why by the way, I looked it up, it has to do with those more ocean and this one hemisphere, so it actually keeps the temperature warmer and then the northern hemisphere, we have more land mass that allows the air to cool more.
[SPEAKER_00]: But let's talk about bushfire. [SPEAKER_00]: So Ushaya is known as the end of the world because it's a southern most city in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: It's where you go with the accrues to Antarctica. [SPEAKER_00]: Shackleton did not stop there, maybe he should have. [SPEAKER_00]: It was originally a penal colony for Argentina where they sent genuinely the worst of the worst of their entire country to go die building a railway there, which later then became a city.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you go there, you go there to, well, go on the cruise door in Antarctica, but also to go outside and you got a really cool view because you have the Marshall mountains that come through there and they rise right out of the ocean. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's pretty. [SPEAKER_00]: And that juxtapose is really well against a really nice beautiful blue ocean. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a Southern Atlantic. [SPEAKER_00]: There's nice. [SPEAKER_00]: You also get good hiking, good exploring, because it's really undeveloped, so you can just wander off into a almost pristine environment.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the water, it's cold water, you get cold water sea life, also known as big stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: So sea lions, rookerees, whales, it's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: And I have to give the Argentinian credit, you're getting Argentinian food, which is quite delicious. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a good trip. [SPEAKER_00]: And the best thing is if you go, you're going to pack a light jacket because it's not that damn cold. [SPEAKER_00]: Still not happy about this.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, this course, yeah, get a let it go, man. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you know, you really think it's kind of even then you look it up. [SPEAKER_00]: The record coldest day we beat this year, like their average would be a nice balmy day for you and I in January. [SPEAKER_00]: That would be like, it would be a like, I would be a significant improvement to our January. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there like, well, it's pretty rough out today, guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, but our discord, if you guys want, join our discord. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It's free as all discord should be. [SPEAKER_00]: You can come in [SPEAKER_00]: mostly books. [SPEAKER_00]: There's actually a lot of cool new novels that are coming out right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Please don't spoil them for people. [SPEAKER_00]: There is a lot of great new lore that's going to be coming with it, but also changes the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just also just in general, it's just fun to kind of chat with people about Warhammer 40 case sometimes. [SPEAKER_00]: Jump on in, won't cost you a thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, before I begin this cast, real quick, I do want to have a quick disclaimer. [SPEAKER_00]: This is one of the oldest parts of 40K lore. [SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon was first written in 1992, gases that old, and that means this has a lot of books. [SPEAKER_00]: This story appears in [SPEAKER_00]: Warhammer 40k, second edition, it appears in a game called Battle for Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can look up, it appears in the game epic, it appears in forgeworld books, it appears in novels, it appears in white dwarfs, it appears everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: As a result, that rhyme, you're going to do some doctor's suits. [SPEAKER_01]: I found it in a battle. [SPEAKER_01]: I found it with a rattle like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and so I just want people to understand the oldest part of the Lord's Horace Heresy, which is 1987, this is like second oldest at 1992.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go through a lot of this and some of you may say, well, I don't think that's right, or maybe this is right. [SPEAKER_00]: It's because there is canon conflict. [SPEAKER_00]: Stuff that gets this old. [SPEAKER_00]: does get red cond, because for example, the squats are technically involved this conflict until they were not involved in this conflict. [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't exist exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to have a little bit of some back and forth here, and I just want to give everyone the heads up.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to try and cover this best I can by saying this is new and this is old, but I just do want to bring it up that this one is going to have some of the most canon conflict of stuff we've covered in the wall. [SPEAKER_01]: So there we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Armageddon, what a stupid, stupid, stupid rock. [SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon has sucked. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon, well, technically, Armageddon, whatever the planet is, has sucked.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's sucked forever and it will always suck. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also not where it's supposed to be. [SPEAKER_00]: So Armageddon is currently sitting in the superior right portion of segmentum solar. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're still doing this. [SPEAKER_00]: He's really, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is a, well, it's coming. [SPEAKER_00]: It's, this is a massive high world, believe it. [SPEAKER_00]: Look at a map of it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not that big.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll cover more of that later. [SPEAKER_00]: It, but it does produce a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's wild. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of goods. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is one of the more powerful high worlds. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, pushing towards forge world level production. [SPEAKER_00]: But where it is now is not where always was, and that's because Armageddon used it to be out on the dextral side of our solar system, that when it was called ulanor.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this ulanor was, first, the major site of probably the greatest victory of the Great Crusade, where the Emperor joined Horace in destroying the largest war ever seen to that point, to that point, Emperor almost died. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Then, a couple millennia later, it got reinhabited by works, namely the beast or beast. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what's the place I play along that bad? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It will add to ask there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then they launched the most powerful wall in history at that point. [SPEAKER_00]: But also, yeah, I get to argue this. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was that still is the most successful walk of all time ever. [SPEAKER_01]: They got to tell. [SPEAKER_00]: What they did at this, the argument is technically the new one might be bigger. [SPEAKER_00]: It's tricky. [SPEAKER_01]: I would say bigger. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying most successful.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Very much so much. [SPEAKER_00]: But also that was also the most useless version of the imperial. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, 100%. [SPEAKER_01]: We. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like there wasn't like anything in the way it was like so you guys gonna shoot back No, I'm just gonna just get in pretty boring guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess I'll just keep going that way Feels like you should do something about this, but after the war of the beast and it had been put down AdMet decided to test out their new Fangled teleportation technology do something fun [SPEAKER_00]: They had been told to take this planet woolenhorne, it'd been nothing but problems.
[SPEAKER_00]: And punt it into the sun, literally, teleport the planet into the sun, core of the sun, make the planet gone, and they went, gotcha, and they teleported it to the sole system. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they said it's segmentum solar. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that way, they could better analyze, [SPEAKER_00]: and hoping no one would know they did that. [SPEAKER_00]: Great plan. [SPEAKER_00]: Clever plan. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice plan. [SPEAKER_00]: Accept and some rogue traders found it, and we're like, oh, it's a new planet here.
[SPEAKER_00]: No idea. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I pretty awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: It's ready to go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, marked it for colonization. [SPEAKER_00]: And it got colonized. [SPEAKER_01]: I do love all the time when no one looks back on these things and goes, hey, look, a planet that's perfectly fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't need to be terraformed. [SPEAKER_01]: Probably a coincidence. [SPEAKER_01]: Flag just go ahead and never investigate this ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're good. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just some real clear going, look what I found. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else is an idiot. [SPEAKER_00]: They couldn't find this place. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So now they've turned in former or homeworld into a human hive planet. [SPEAKER_00]: And I will be to the to the credit went great about eight or so thousand years proud of them free. [SPEAKER_00]: people are me getting they build one we'll talk more of the planet plants a dumpster fire but plant does grow massive hives it's standard imperial life and that it sucks and you sucks dive but no problems till four four four of them forty one so it does like almost hit eight nine thousand but eight thousand years when adding raw and shut up with his world eaters and demons of corn [SPEAKER_00]: got defeated by the plenther defense force, great nights and space wave space wolves.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a pretty awesome coalition. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the inquisition decides that everyone who is there had to die and then sterilize them all. [SPEAKER_00]: So they all died, but then a new population was brought in. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's the ones who were there now. [SPEAKER_00]: And the new population really liked it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was all pre furnished apartments. [SPEAKER_00]: pretty good deal. [SPEAKER_00]: They got there and yeah, even which is a family's.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and if you were the same size as their family, you could just wear their clothes, which were also there. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, bring a deal. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, what a wonderful thing. [SPEAKER_00]: So fast forward a couple hundred years and the hive is thriving again. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, again, air quotes thriving, hellscape, absolute hellscape, but not currently under invasion, [SPEAKER_00]: But we should talk two things about Armageddon before we get going.
[SPEAKER_00]: First one is this geography, because I do want to set that up a little bit into the steel region. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's open up with their geography. [SPEAKER_00]: This planet is tricky to figure out how big it is. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's because it's meant, it's described as Brad's earlier, this massive plan that persizes all this stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: But then you look at a map of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's not that much to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's kind of like, for those of us who played civilization, it's like, yeah, I don't really want to play on the huge maps. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like having 8,000 turns. [SPEAKER_00]: So you play on the medium world. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, Armageddon is listed officially as being 86% the size of earth. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but if you look at a map, it's not. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine, it doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_00]: But also, they talk about how big it is, but then it's just not.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: They do laugh. [SPEAKER_00]: There was one map I saw that just said, unexplored for a chunk of it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, we have space travel. [SPEAKER_00]: I know the scanners don't work, but their eyes do. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, all right. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: First off, let's just talk about the population real quick. [SPEAKER_01]: Because, ready, 86% the size of Earth, [SPEAKER_01]: But there's up to depending on which you get the estimated population and 500 billion people on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I deal. [SPEAKER_00]: It's is crowded. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a little crowded. [SPEAKER_01]: It's probably expensive. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also really dirty. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest. [SPEAKER_00]: This is not Singapore. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but the Brad's point, at its core, Armageddon is an extremely, mentally rich planet. [SPEAKER_00]: And the cool thing is when you want to get minerals out of a planet, the best way to do it is to just destroy the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the more destructive and excessive the method, the better. [SPEAKER_00]: And Armageddon is a hellscape because of this. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a toxic wasteland. [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot go outside. [SPEAKER_00]: Like some areas will melt a tank. [SPEAKER_00]: The air is so toxic and everything inside it. [SPEAKER_00]: But. [SPEAKER_00]: So just a couple of highlights there. [SPEAKER_00]: So we had this kind of a weird setup. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got one section, which is a good north kind of northeast.
[SPEAKER_00]: The pollution from the factories would kill a man in seconds if they were outside without a mask. [SPEAKER_00]: Then the south west, despite the planet rotating and we're talking about the second, it's always frozen. [SPEAKER_00]: It's actually the West Southwest by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's funny because they have, you know, for, hey, what are your selling points? [SPEAKER_01]: The toxic oceans or of the ash and wastelands also don't forget your rivers that are not rivers to just pure sludge.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is true. [SPEAKER_01]: Just toxic weights, factory waste, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: It's remarkable, but in effect, Armageddon has three continents, two ish oceans, they get two oceans in a sea and a really small island chain. [SPEAKER_00]: The first one is, since this plan, it's kind of kiltered. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the best way to explain it. [SPEAKER_00]: When you look at a map, it'll look at its north. [SPEAKER_00]: You'll see it one bit at the north, then you'll see it caught in the middle and see it caught in the bottom.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that map actually, you need to turn it, like almost 45 degrees, is actually where north is. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you remember the plan, it's actually at a jackdangle, because the Edmick teleported it out here, and then it got caught in a rotation that's not what it should be. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you look at a map of it, just understand, you'll see a map of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And then if you look off in the corner of the map, you'll see the arrow for North pointing not up.
[SPEAKER_01]: But, so that's it, we've talked about this before, and life in the Imperians stuff like this. [SPEAKER_01]: Barmy Gedon is a world where... [SPEAKER_01]: foods imported from off, where they're making a shit for them. [SPEAKER_01]: Like this isn't a self-sustained planet. [SPEAKER_01]: If we didn't pay attention to this, it would be bad these bears because they pump in. [SPEAKER_01]: They ship in, sorry, not pump in, because they actually do pump in air, but they ship in all of the food.
[SPEAKER_01]: And basically everything else that you need, water food, you're in the out. [SPEAKER_00]: And let's explain why, because in the north, [SPEAKER_00]: East-ish area are the firewastes, which is volcanoes. [SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of volcanoes, but it's also where the mining is. [SPEAKER_00]: So if that could have been attacked all this war, if they mined out of active volcanoes. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just about to say that I was going to go, well, you think that you'd want to stay away from that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a huge money operation. [SPEAKER_01]: So just ignore the volcano over there and keep doing stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but here's a fun thing. [SPEAKER_00]: How do you mind an active volcano? [SPEAKER_00]: Simple penal colonies, because that's also what they use. [SPEAKER_00]: More on them in a minute, by the way, for the most part, everything there was extracted from the fire waste and then moved elsewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: The only things that are up there, the penal colonies, supply and Terry defense force outposts and a couple of orbital cannons to kind of protect the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's it. [SPEAKER_00]: It knows even the plightary defense forces are there just to handle uprisings from the people who are being forced to mine a volcano. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, every now and then they get a little, no. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I, this sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: If you go selfish from that, you get the boiling sea, which sounds as lovely as it is. [SPEAKER_00]: And it separates the fire waste from the main continent of the Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's an archipelago of the Phoenix Islands. [SPEAKER_00]: And this water is just extremely toxic. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not boiling, but it is full of also many volcanoes. [SPEAKER_00]: So it just sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: This place just sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: Then you'd know that the boiling season is a very busy waterway because there's always shipping all this stuff out of the fireways down to the main continent through this area, for manufacturing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you get this useless chunk of something called the Phoenix Islands, which make no damn sense. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll explain why this now. [SPEAKER_00]: They are a chunk of islands with one main island, and they're basically halfway between the firewaists and the mainland of Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: But they built a bridge only going to the firewaists, not to the mainland, and then they built a space port on it. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's really good, it taking [SPEAKER_00]: But then anything that comes back from space has to put on a ship and take into arm again.
[SPEAKER_00]: If I just build a stand thing on the main planet. [SPEAKER_00]: 95% of manufacturing is done in Maine continent. [SPEAKER_00]: This space port makes no sense. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like the main, but it's the main space port. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: But they do also have islands that have nothing but guns on them. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that's hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's out there. [SPEAKER_01]: They have our just traditions of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you look, if you Google and stuff, you're looking up. [SPEAKER_01]: And it is hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: And they do this in a lot of Imperial planets. [SPEAKER_01]: They just make it. [SPEAKER_01]: armed embankment in places. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love that they show just this little island that just has bugs bunny guns shooting. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I will say, what are my favorite things about the Phoenix Island, so is there's a ravine there?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's called the Nadala Gorge, so this is a great example of how bad the impairing Mr. [SPEAKER_00]: Living. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a gorge, so giant gap. [SPEAKER_00]: And now, there's a river coming out of it, because all the factories that they built on the gorge, just dump their sludge out the back into the gorge, which then has built maybe one of the most toxic rivers in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And just then then that, [SPEAKER_01]: great nuclear waste.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were fusion reactors on these. [SPEAKER_00]: And then that empties into the ocean, which then flows to the mainland of Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: Good job, Imperium. [SPEAKER_00]: A plus. [SPEAKER_00]: On the other side of the planet, which is like the West and South is the deadlands. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the part that's really funny, because it's actually [SPEAKER_00]: almost more west than south. [SPEAKER_00]: It's completely frozen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Completely, to the point when I do like this, they do call out that it's against science, that it's frozen, not in a like, oh, GW script of writing. [SPEAKER_00]: No, even like the ad, like, yeah, we don't know why this is still frozen. [SPEAKER_00]: It bases the sun. [SPEAKER_00]: And it just will not melt. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's weird. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's used for three things. [SPEAKER_00]: One, defense, two, mining, and three, water.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they put a bunch of orbital batteries there. [SPEAKER_00]: They could, you know, screw it to Brad's point. [SPEAKER_00]: Why not? [SPEAKER_00]: This orbital invaders and any uprides in the mines. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, penal colonies, because they're going to be the people go dig into the ice sheet that never melts. [SPEAKER_00]: Then there's the mines for removing oils and ore from the planet. [SPEAKER_00]: These almost suck more than the ones in the north.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the funny one is because all the water freezes there, they're like, well, yes, that's drinkable. [SPEAKER_00]: So then they also go over there. [SPEAKER_00]: And I guess mine ice. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, and it's also a big deal because it's very expensive because it's a hot commodity, you know, to be able to drink water. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what it's for, but then we need to talk about the north of the south of the first we talk about the penal colonies, because...
[SPEAKER_00]: We talk a lot about how bad living in a hive is. [SPEAKER_00]: Penal colonies are significantly worse because this is absolute death sentence. [SPEAKER_00]: If you live in a hive and you are in the lower portion of the hive, there's probably not good enough re-breed. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no bad stuff to keep you from getting poisoned the death. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's living somewhere that they don't want you to get poisoned. [SPEAKER_00]: When you're in a penal colony, because you're sent into your death, you're sent into your work until you die.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is your sentence. [SPEAKER_00]: These people are, again, probably mining in a volcano with, I don't know, a wet rag. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of rebellions happen up in those areas. [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: on to the main part, which is Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: So Armageddon itself is one long continent. [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost shaped, it's shaped similar to a peninsula. [SPEAKER_00]: And it sits going probably southeast to northwest.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the best way to explain it. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's split, it's being the two portions. [SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon prime and Armageddon secundus with a giant jungle right in the middle of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, Armageddon's agundus, we're going to get into some great stories. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, agundus stuff happens there, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What's agundus is the larger one. [SPEAKER_00]: So Armageddon Prime has three main hives.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there were four, but it doesn't last very long. [SPEAKER_00]: But Volcanus, Tempestora, and Deathmire are up there. [SPEAKER_00]: There's also a wide open plane, which as a plane, it's just a nightmare zone of [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Volcanus is the eastern most of them and sits surrounded by actually mountains. [SPEAKER_00]: Tempura is the northern most and that's someone that works a lot more with firewaists. [SPEAKER_00]: And then deathmiar sits right next to the equatorial jungle and it's actually more of a port city.
[SPEAKER_00]: then we get the equatorial jungle, which is really kind of more funny than anything else, because it's really dense. [SPEAKER_00]: It is meant to be when they say jungle, we don't mean like, oh, it's kind of greenery. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know, who can navigate this? [SPEAKER_01]: The equatorial works. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is going to come up later as part of a very fun story, but in effect, this is a extremely dense jungle that vehicles cannot get through and it is actually only, I think it's only one of those ways.
[SPEAKER_01]: They giant roadway. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's one highway going through the whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Not only is it dense though, it's also incredibly toxic like the rest of the planet like all any water in there don't touch that you will melt and the plant life is also will go with aggressive it's one of those it's a death world plan yeah yeah the plant life will kill you so it's this kind of cool little jungle right in the middle of it that's [SPEAKER_00]: ends up being a nice little thing for adversaries.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you try to get through it, there's only one road and everyone knows where that road is. [SPEAKER_00]: So boom, boom, suck it. [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go into the jungle, you're just rolling some dice into quite a more [SPEAKER_00]: But if you on the other side of that jungle though, you do get secundus is much larger. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got more hives as well. [SPEAKER_00]: You're five hives compared to primed three. [SPEAKER_00]: Hell's reach in furnace, archeon, tarderus, and of course, Hades.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hell's reach is in the southern coast, tarderus and archeon are on the main land of the east. [SPEAKER_00]: In furnace is like central [SPEAKER_00]: fairly close to the jungle. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's important. [SPEAKER_00]: Hades is that if you get through the jungle, Hades is one of the first ones you're going to get to. [SPEAKER_00]: But the landscape on both them is just a health scape. [SPEAKER_00]: Flat planes or mountains with volcanoes.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no positive to any of this or night in a jungle. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they have some rivers. [SPEAKER_01]: But these rivers for those of the played, [SPEAKER_01]: 40K back in the day, we used to have, we were talking about it, uh, dangerous terrain. [SPEAKER_01]: It a lot of the dangerous terrain was toxic rivers, because we used to fight on Armageddon. [SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the places you would fight this part of the old GW GTs and stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, these rivers aren't anything good. [SPEAKER_01]: They're more defensible than anything, because of the fact, you're like, hey, man, our tank melted when we tried to drive through it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, literally, this isn't just bad for organic life, armored things can't go through the gap at a boat knit. [SPEAKER_00]: But all of this makes this plant sound like a wide bother. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do this? [SPEAKER_00]: And there is one major advantage to Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_00]: all of this exists because it can manufacture. [SPEAKER_00]: All of these supplies that sit there, Armageddon is unique in that a lot of these materials that they're able to mine out. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't actually call out what they are. [SPEAKER_00]: It's all impossible, basically, and nanotechnology. [SPEAKER_00]: But the idea of Armageddon is that they've got enough stuff coming in, that they don't rely on as much shipments elsewhere to do their manufacturing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Armageddon is known that it can outfit an entire regimen some legal week as a result more of the most important manufacturing hubs of the imperium in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: And with that, they also produce their own regiments that they outfit and they train. [SPEAKER_00]: Because remember, every regiment is outfitted and trained by the plant that raises them. [SPEAKER_00]: And Armageddon has won that has quite the reputation both in the lore, and also in the game, and some of the game stuff unfortunately has, we'll talk about that another time.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_00]: The Armageddon's still lesion were a very, very popular army to play for a while. [SPEAKER_00]: They're back now, which is really great. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Steel Legion was awesome for the fact that they had the first fully mobile guard army. [SPEAKER_01]: Fully everything was, I mean, it was an armor company, but it was Steel Legion was different, because you had tons of guys with transports and special moves for those transports, and they became one of the most famous, I'd say they're top three of the things that if you know 40k, you just know about Steel Legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they used to be. [SPEAKER_00]: It's still, because the, the still isn't a weird one for people who had playing the game for a long time, still Legion were one of the most famous. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, people aren't, you know, we don't know, because they haven't been away. [SPEAKER_01]: They've been the other thing and what, a couple of dishes, actually. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: But so the reason still Legion is so important to Brad's point is because of the mobility, it's because you can't go outside.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they had to build a Legion built around [SPEAKER_00]: fighting from inside of a vehicle, and they utilize a lot of armored transport. [SPEAKER_00]: Their main thing obviously is the Kymera. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it plays the game. [SPEAKER_00]: We know the Kymera. [SPEAKER_00]: They do what the space brings me called Rhino Rush. [SPEAKER_00]: They do Kymera Rush. [SPEAKER_00]: They bring their Kymera's out in hordes. [SPEAKER_00]: Get out there and quickly rush out where in their gas masks.
[SPEAKER_00]: To then overwhelm them on it. [SPEAKER_01]: Stay inside because they have [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The ability to shoot everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, 12, I think now, but like it used to be just everybody inside got to shoot. [SPEAKER_01]: You still shoot out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But they don't just make true transports. [SPEAKER_00]: They also made armor to support them because the steel Legion also boasts that a lot of tanks and mobile artillery, especially mobile artillery.
[SPEAKER_00]: They used to be really good at the baseless and all that kind of stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And their idea was they would deploy very quickly and just overwhelm an opponent with armor and they'd face it, basically finish them off with infantry. [SPEAKER_00]: They're super cool. [SPEAKER_00]: The fun thing I love about them though is they're not codex compliant. [SPEAKER_00]: They're really compliant. [SPEAKER_01]: All of the rules. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's funny because of the fact that the imperium wants their legions to be the same.
[SPEAKER_01]: They want them to be basically the same size. [SPEAKER_01]: You get the same stuff because they can go, [SPEAKER_01]: unit A and put it here because I know why. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's it to be to defend the Imperian to some of the Romans did very well. [SPEAKER_00]: The idea is that, you know, this, when I favorite, there's a Roman fort, I think it's an England. [SPEAKER_00]: Is it somewhere? [SPEAKER_00]: The Roman fort's all had four eggs.
[SPEAKER_00]: North East Southwest, they always built them and they built a fort that was next to a cliff. [SPEAKER_00]: And there is an exit on the cliff face. [SPEAKER_00]: And I can guarantee you someone guarded that [SPEAKER_00]: it's just that's how you do it. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the rule. [SPEAKER_00]: And so all of the legions are meant to do this. [SPEAKER_00]: The still legion break this massively. [SPEAKER_00]: They've got way more troops.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're supposed to have way more farmers. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's supposed to have. [SPEAKER_00]: They've got all these exceptions, but there's also a reason to it. [SPEAKER_00]: They also win all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: They are one of the most successful [SPEAKER_00]: and they keep producing this level of thing, and to be fair, they're also able to produce at this level. [SPEAKER_01]: The truth is that the steel legion are able to produce massive amounts of armor, so when they raise a regiment, they raise a regiment, one, they have infinite amounts of people basically, and they also equip them and go, here's your way, way too many tanks and [SPEAKER_00]: And it's the thing, like most of their planets who'd be like, okay, we raised a regiment here, like three or four basalisks, here's a couple of Lehman russes, this is like, all right, here's 50 basalists, go nuts.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, do you fare a lot of other planets would do that if they could? [SPEAKER_00]: So there's that. [SPEAKER_00]: But as a result, the steel legion are this incredibly powerful. [SPEAKER_00]: Regiment. [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason we bring that up is they're also there forever present on Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: Once a regiment is raised, they leave the planet, obviously, but they're always in the process of raising more new regiments.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And so that's the key thing, as you can imagine why we're bringing that up, because there's always going to be steel legion there. [SPEAKER_00]: People are there training and [SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on to a different story because we have to kind of do a lot of backstory before we do the army again. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's talk about the guard. [SPEAKER_00]: Throughout the impairment kind, world's come and worlds go.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just part of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Industrial accidents, civil wars, bureaucratic oversight to stop sending food and invasions. [SPEAKER_00]: And when a world's destroyed, if there are survivors, they're always just scooped up and then jambed elsewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: If the survivors are children, they're sent to the school of Virginia to become leaders for the impure motory. [SPEAKER_00]: In one such world is Taos 3. [SPEAKER_00]: We have no idea where chaos three was because it's gone now, but we know it was invaded by orcs and the orcs won that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we do know when the Imperium responded, they found a few survivors. [SPEAKER_00]: And one of them was a boy named Sebastian Vardin, who was seven years old and this story is kind of weird. [SPEAKER_00]: Sebastian Vardin was raised by his mother's father because I don't like saying maternal grandfather's just too stupidly complicated to say mother's father. [SPEAKER_00]: That's like his maternal grandfather just says mom's dad like an adult.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, anyway, he himself had been a sergeant in the Imperial Guard, and Tails was an odd world named him that it had hive cities, but the planet itself hadn't been destroyed by it, so he actually had forests, quite a lot of forest. [SPEAKER_00]: And Sebastian, and they say this by the way, had been caught from a very young age how to survive, like lay traps since [SPEAKER_00]: be quiet and kill. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm a parent and this parent's listening to this, there's no seven year old boy on earth who could do it, who could lay quiet.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, full stop. [SPEAKER_00]: No, if you can make a five year old, sit quiet and trap, [SPEAKER_00]: You're concerned about that five-year-old from being honest. [SPEAKER_00]: No, like this is not something they can do, or keep a secret. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, no, Jesus Christ. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but the Orcs invade Sebastian Vardin flees into the forest, where he survives. [SPEAKER_00]: And the story moves a bit right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's three years. [SPEAKER_00]: At one point, it was a couple months. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know which number is correct. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, this is one of the ones where the canon has moved around a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: But while in the forest, there's a movie that I can't think of after I had my this person does, that he survived on their own in the wilderness, he teaches himself all he needs to know to survive, you know, cue the montage of him killing orcs, like setting traps.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was killing Gretchen, but still counts. [SPEAKER_00]: The Imperial Forces arrive and deal with the orcs, they find him and go, well, [SPEAKER_00]: you've just killed like a lot of orcs so school of progenium you were not you were not going labor let's go right now exactly [SPEAKER_00]: When he does this, though, everyone else is dead. [SPEAKER_00]: He changes his name. [SPEAKER_00]: He takes his mother's father's name, which is Yarric.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yarric. [SPEAKER_00]: This is, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So he becomes Sebastian Yarric. [SPEAKER_00]: He joins the school of progenium, and initially is supposed to become a sion, which is the special forces. [SPEAKER_00]: But the people in the progenium look took one look at him and we're like, no, you're a commissar. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm saying no, like, absolutely not. [SPEAKER_00]: That's we're not wasting you on that. [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to shut the tent in the back of the head for running too slow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's him and gone to be fair. [SPEAKER_00]: Yarric actually might be braver than God. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a, I can get in trouble for saying that I'm a big fan of Yark and Yark's just got this psychotic level of bravery and they were just like, yeah, commissar full stop commissar go. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is, he's an amazing commissar, but he's also, he's got a much cooler story of learning than a lot of other ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he had, he's learned very early on that the true problems of corruption. [SPEAKER_00]: So we look at, got. [SPEAKER_00]: God actually is more of a, uh, I'm a good word for him, but God's as a commissar is actually much more sympathetic to people. [SPEAKER_00]: Yarric is not zero. [SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, because you encounter him in, he just, [SPEAKER_00]: He learned this quickly, just, yeah, yeah, when he just snaps heads, yeah, with a quick horse.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he has to, and this is why I like Yerick a lot, because we talk about Kamasar's lot's being bad, and one of my favorite stories is early Yerks, like why Kamasar's are the way they are. [SPEAKER_00]: So the world is called Mistral, a, under Lord Kamasar Rasp, and this world is just a world with bad politicians, and they need kind of a little kick in the ass. [SPEAKER_00]: local barons decide that they don't care for the imperium and the one power from the cells.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the Imperial Guard is sent there to tell no, you're going to have that. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not all about what is called Imperial Creed. [SPEAKER_00]: So I won't spoil all of it here. [SPEAKER_00]: But long story short, the line between corruption and being an A hole, has a corruption, I mean, like chaos corruption, is not very why. [SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes being an A hole doesn't get you what you want, and corruption will come.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Yorick learned, what Yorick learned is that I think all of our favorite phrase, that a moment of laxity reads a lifetime of heresy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yorick knows this because of this story of, yes, these look like regular humans who are just doing it being idiots and that is what they are, but these [SPEAKER_00]: So he learns, shoot him all and move, then Yolk moves around for a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: But while moving around, he's always been obsessed with the orcs because, you know what, I'm given this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, when we started to look through the notes, we're doing our stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: John casually writes, Yarks kind of obsessed with the orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man, because they murdered everyone he knew. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just anyone he ever cared about love or even mildly liked, you know, he's got a thing for them. [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, so he ends up in the world called Verrune and Verrune was under attack by an orc law and a couple of things happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: First, y'all are going to speak orc. [SPEAKER_00]: which, and again, in the three versions of this, one is he met a captured slave of the orcs who taught him how to speak ork. [SPEAKER_00]: The other one is he actually captured someone, an ork, and learned from the ork. [SPEAKER_00]: The other one is he just picked the up kind of on his own. [SPEAKER_00]: Three different versions, deal with it, I can help that. [SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: buses should call out like the way we do 40k with language.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we all think of orcs speaking with a cockney accent, but it's reality is everyone speaks different language. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, just be a nightmare wandering around 40k. [SPEAKER_00]: So in reality, it's [SPEAKER_00]: They do it that way, but we instead do that the Star Trek Star Wars thing where every time someone speaks how much Man, it's a different language. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like Star Wars Star Trek. [SPEAKER_00]: We're unless we need them to not speak the same language.
[SPEAKER_00]: They always speak. [SPEAKER_00]: Go back to the music. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go back to the basic. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: But at around the same time, York establishes himself as it's like four most mind and orcs in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: He understands orcs. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows their combat, their tactics, their motives, everything, and especially how to defeat them. [SPEAKER_00]: And critically, he knows what to and not to do tactically as let's say they suddenly show up and start behaving in a way that they're not that's uncommon to them.
[SPEAKER_00]: He knows change your tactics. [SPEAKER_00]: something other people don't. [SPEAKER_00]: But 60 or 80 years of service we don't really know how long it's been. [SPEAKER_00]: Yarric is stationed on Armageddon as part of a retirement. [SPEAKER_00]: He is there at this stage to assist in the founding of the fourth regiment there because his retirement is to train regiments. [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, all right, this is what you get [SPEAKER_01]: And he hated the shit out of this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God, he hates this. [SPEAKER_00]: This is so boring. [SPEAKER_00]: He is a warrior. [SPEAKER_00]: He is a soldier. [SPEAKER_00]: He is not there to tell green recruits how to hold a last rifle. [SPEAKER_00]: That is not his world. [SPEAKER_00]: Funny story, and we'll get more of this guy later, the local leader of Armageddon, Herman von Straub, late, yarric. [SPEAKER_00]: Hates him, views him as a trouble maker, who's just going to nettle in things that he doesn't need metal.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, yarr, got some good timing. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, also, it wasn't super good for the people of Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: Now he wasn't, but also in segmentum solar, on the other side, you have a planet called Erk. [SPEAKER_00]: It's in the Zornian system. [SPEAKER_00]: It's on the right edge of just right on the edge of segmentum obscures. [SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of worlds in the Imperium, but mankind, erks sucked.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's been around for a bit. [SPEAKER_00]: It's mineral and oil deposits were good. [SPEAKER_00]: It was colonized during the age of technology. [SPEAKER_00]: It prospered for a bit. [SPEAKER_00]: It actually sat in a nice little intersection of warp ties. [SPEAKER_00]: But then some orcs came through and ruined it and the orcs ran it for a little bit and then some elder came for say elder came in and they had it and then the great crusade happened and the first legion came in and they found some new zenos who were there and they killed all of them all of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: and all traces of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and everybody was there. [SPEAKER_00]: And then it became a human colony for 2,000 years, hive cities, space ports, all that even the two moons, fully colonized. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then the heresy happened and the Imperium had other stuff to do. [SPEAKER_00]: So things got less focus. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the star of Erk started to kind of die. [SPEAKER_00]: It was transitioning to a red giant piece by piece, which means it wasn't really giving off a lot of heat and it kind of started to suck.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Erk, if I- A lot of radiation. [SPEAKER_00]: There's also that. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I wouldn't skip on that as a bad. [SPEAKER_00]: But what's the thing that Erk at this point? [SPEAKER_00]: It's been attacked and conquered, and also sometimes it's a cool planet, [SPEAKER_00]: a banded space stations all around it. [SPEAKER_00]: There is space chuck. [SPEAKER_00]: And at one point some orcs found one of those space stations and kind of liked it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was shiny. [SPEAKER_00]: It was sparkly. [SPEAKER_01]: I love everything about the fact that they stayed because of the shiny bits. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't care about the radiation because who kept the orcs. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's hanging out. [SPEAKER_01]: And then went down to the planet, went, this is cool. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not leaving. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and over 8,000 years, more org showed up until the planet eventually became an org planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: The dark angels, though, knew about this and went, well, we have two choices. [SPEAKER_00]: We could go back there and eliminate it. [SPEAKER_00]: But we know once orgs are somewhere and their fungus is there, [SPEAKER_00]: That's just a pain in the air. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a trash fire. [SPEAKER_00]: So instead, there's put monitoring stations on it, literally on the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: And the idea was, I like this stuff, because the whole point is they're going to monitor it, and basically go, we can now see when a log is going to happen, because there'll be a bunch of orcactivity, exactly monitoring, and we can get on it sooner rather than later.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they put these little and these are unmanned stations all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: So if the orchestra powerful, they show up and they snuff it. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, after the war of the beast, so this is right now we're close to M40. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going back M32. [SPEAKER_00]: Eldred, who is a guy with a lot of back then, a boy always always knew there'd be another beast. [SPEAKER_00]: Now you're doing the Yoda thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, [SPEAKER_00]: and because he's a shitty self-centered elder, he knew that this galaxy conquering war boss would be a good thing for the elder. [SPEAKER_00]: Kind of like everybody else. [SPEAKER_00]: So he began putting some stuff in place. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, somehow he knew it would be here. [SPEAKER_00]: So he began putting in place things that aid the coming of the greatest war boss in the history of the York's. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a profit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Those unmanned things on this planet, by the way, had massive century guns on them. [SPEAKER_00]: Orcs would occasionally try to raid them. [SPEAKER_00]: And then get shot. [SPEAKER_00]: So now we get to M 40. [SPEAKER_00]: So now we get to 940 of M 41. [SPEAKER_00]: One such rate is taking place. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a goff rate going in to try and take one of these posts because there's some shiny bits in it. [SPEAKER_00]: You want the shiny bits.
[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the goffs who goes up there, I guess shot in the head. [SPEAKER_00]: And that we don't one of three things happens. [SPEAKER_00]: He gets to head blown off either. [SPEAKER_00]: The other orcs carried him back down the mountain. [SPEAKER_00]: he walked back down the mountain holding his head together, or the medic was up there and fixed in there. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't know which of those stories is true. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you have to as well the metal part onto his dome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What if you like better head butt? [SPEAKER_00]: But I like those of those three stories one time they did it under threat of death, ask McCarrie, which one was true and he said whichever one makes you not kill me. [SPEAKER_00]: I love McCarrie, but what we do know is that the body eventually did end up in front of Mad Duck and Mad Duck did root around his brain for a little bit and show this at a man-time plate on there and root around a little bit more and then the boy died, so then Mad Duck threw him out back and while his body was out back, a Gretchen was looting all [SPEAKER_00]: was looting them for teeth and shiny bets to go, you know, do aggression to stuff with.
[SPEAKER_00]: And while doing this, this aggression was right at him, gas sat up and looked directly into McCarrie's eyes. [SPEAKER_00]: And the two of them while looking to his eyes, both saw the same vision of Gork and Ormork. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was a vision of gas conquering the entire galaxy with McCarrie at his feet. [SPEAKER_00]: And they both got out of that vision and went, we got some stuff to do. [SPEAKER_00]: And I can cover this back in the work cast if you guys want to go back and listen to it again, but I'm going to breathe it this very quickly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Guests has to then unite all the plans on earth because earth has all the plants bad mood snake bites gauves. [SPEAKER_00]: I speak for you. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's speak for everything. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they're all there. [SPEAKER_00]: And he decides to prove he's the biggest the smartest, the toughest work on earth. [SPEAKER_00]: And therefore he is the boss and he also can head but. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it good has, but really, really hard, which we don't have on his data sheet currently.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we still don't let off. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there a head button on the 11th of the sheet? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, good. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he deserves it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's got his regular attacks, and then he's got a head button. [SPEAKER_01]: Good. [SPEAKER_01]: Not a head button. [SPEAKER_00]: And head button. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's always in there. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we only need that stupid H. All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what I love about this is he unifies all the clans, but after doing it, he's got two problems. [SPEAKER_00]: First, the sun, the zornian system, is going red giant right now. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just popping out. [SPEAKER_00]: almost no heat, but all radiation and it's going to go supernova soon. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's conquered a planet and they're all about to die, but the actual bigger problem is the funny way. [SPEAKER_00]: They got nothing to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: They, well, they need somebody to fight and they need a ride to get there to someone to fight. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's just sitting there, if only we had a way to travel, then they do. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, this is the face of shows up. [SPEAKER_00]: This is awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: This giant space-hole called World Killer with a U. [SPEAKER_00]: Shows up, and Gadgers goes, come on, lads, and the entire planet has to go nuts. [SPEAKER_00]: So what they did was, from one of the moons, they fired tractor cannons onto it, and it's basically a hard-puned mistake.
[SPEAKER_00]: And pull it to the moon and they take air quotes here shuttles from the planet up to the entire planet They know as arc this thing. [SPEAKER_00]: So they don't know as arc this thing because that would be two by two They empty the planet every single orc everyone's up somewhere [SPEAKER_00]: And then they cut it loose and just go, well, now what? [SPEAKER_00]: And just let's floating away until world killers just kind of spirals up and jumps into the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just as the sun goes supernova. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm assuming it's like an 80s movie with just an explosion and they're just not even paying attention as they float away. [SPEAKER_00]: Fun thing on world killer, it doesn't have a killer field. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they're in the warp, [SPEAKER_00]: So the demons, and this is actually fantastic for gas. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the orcs were all kind of bored back on earth. [SPEAKER_00]: Now we have an endless supply of combat.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they also effectively orcs have to expi up. [SPEAKER_01]: They're really grinding to get levels on these orcs because as orcs, [SPEAKER_01]: fight, they get stronger. [SPEAKER_01]: They actually get larger. [SPEAKER_01]: They get more powerful. [SPEAKER_01]: And this also starts to juice up the wag, which makes them psychically more powerful. [SPEAKER_00]: What's funny, this space of World Code is busy. [SPEAKER_00]: Blinking in and out of reality is it's moving through the galaxy and the orc basically as it blinks in reality all the demons appear and they take a breath high five each other and then get ready that blinks back out of reality you know back to fighting and that's the better part of their day.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's funny is we don't know how long it's in the work for or how long this travel is, but we do know is there are more orcs on it than when it arrives on the American, then when it left, all the orcs are bigger and gas is astronomically large by the time that they get there. [SPEAKER_00]: They've got more technology when they left. [SPEAKER_00]: They're really hankering for a fight and uh, Macquarie is missing. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is also one of my favorite stories.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maddock himself as the savior and creator of. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a bigger thing. [SPEAKER_01]: His creator will also, that'll be kind of 100% later, but much later. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he was like, well, no, I should be gas as number one confident. [SPEAKER_00]: Not a grot, literally a grot. [SPEAKER_00]: And so Maddock had been basically experimenting on gas as brain the whole time under the guys of making improvements.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did make a bunch of improvements on his armor [SPEAKER_00]: But he also was messing with his brain. [SPEAKER_00]: But gas. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so yeah, gas though loved McCarrie. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like his little pet because he was, McCarrie is his gasses luck charm. [SPEAKER_00]: And so everywhere, gas went, McCarrie went. [SPEAKER_00]: And mad doc got mad about this. [SPEAKER_00]: And one day, just decided to put McCarrie and airlock and fire me to space, killing McCarrie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so just so I don't know, McCarrie died on the way to Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: More on that later. [SPEAKER_00]: World Killer reaches Armageddon in 941 of M41 and it appears in the edge of the system and is immediately detected by satellites because this thing is the size of a freaking mode. [SPEAKER_00]: The skin is not that bad. [SPEAKER_00]: when it arrives though, over Lord of Armageddon, Herman Vonstrab has a plan. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to salvage this spacehole.
[SPEAKER_00]: He merely declares it as just being a empty spacehulk, and he's going to salvage it from all the architect for the impairing. [SPEAKER_01]: He won't stop immediately. [SPEAKER_01]: He's told it's full of arts. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he just, I don't care about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because the scanners, by the way, are working. [SPEAKER_00]: So, orks, by the way, are not subtle. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like the orks did not. [SPEAKER_00]: This thing didn't enter the edge of the system and all the orks got really silent and hit.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were in their chanting and laughing the entire time. [SPEAKER_00]: You can probably see them walking on the outside of it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's all orks. [SPEAKER_00]: and Von Straub just goes, yeah, we're still going to salvage this thing. [SPEAKER_00]: And this journey from the edge of the system to Armageddon takes a month. [SPEAKER_00]: And in that month, the warp starts getting messed up. [SPEAKER_00]: All the sanctuaries, the sanctuaries, the sanctuaries, the sanctuaries start going insane.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's literally a statue of the emperor in the hell's reach. [SPEAKER_00]: I start to weeping blood. [SPEAKER_00]: And everyone's like, hey, I think there's something bad coming and Von Straub's like, nah, we're good and find past nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, Von Straub only notifies the administrative of the presence of the space Hulk because he has to because there's actually under a requirement of like, oh, yeah, the message is basically, oh, by the way, there's a space Hulk here.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's always it's like nothing about orgs or any of that stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: The only reason a man knows about it is that's a few of the craft that we're kind of in between it, like satellites, this thing just smashes and destroys, they sent out distress calls that did reach some space marine chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: but specifically one, two, one's going to be a big difference. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, one, you know, go and show up with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so this is basically this thing is heardling towards Armageddon, ripping anything in everything to shreds and the leader of Armageddon is going, yeah, you know, I want to get to here. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll kind of deal with it. [SPEAKER_00]: But with that, we're going to stop because next week, we're going to wear this thing becomes a freaking party. [SPEAKER_00]: Vonstrop sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to start off with that.
[SPEAKER_00]: He does, I do like the ending on him though. [SPEAKER_00]: It's actually that's actually one of the better endings. [SPEAKER_00]: But Yarric is going to become, it's going to be later when Yarric comes up. [SPEAKER_00]: And I did this whole story in the big, absolutely hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: It's totally puts on his boots and mighty ass kicking. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when Yara gets going, it is amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: The story, for those who don't know the story of Yara, I hope you really, you are going to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the opening of Armageddon is freaking hilariously bad because the Orcs no one's prepared for this. [SPEAKER_00]: And it to be fair. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is this level of work invasion, and it hasn't been seen in 10,000 years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because this level of tactics, the main thing to understand about Army Getton for people in our cities that up until this point orks were mating parties. [SPEAKER_00]: So we had the war of the beast and now we have gas.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything in between are small was nothing to this level and more pretty nothing this tactical. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what's going to make this thing really flat because he's on in but brutal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, we also, but york's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: He does a whole like, I'm not going out like this. [SPEAKER_00]: And we get a whole lot like that. [SPEAKER_00]: And I do love the orcs just because it says with this guy with a weird eye and a cool hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So all right, until next week, John Barcati, Brad Chester, the sky. [SPEAKER_00]: See you guys then. [UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
