Experience Brandon Sanderson’s books as if they were brand new again with newbies Jaymee, Joe and Dac and their Sanderson sherpa, Data.
5 Oct 2026 · 1 hr 46 min
We're wrapping up Part 2, and it's not a shiny happy sort of part ending. Then we get several different perspectives for interludes. The crew isn't exactly thrilled about the Vyre part, but Lift is getting some love.
E299 · 28 Sep 2026 · 1 hr 46 min
As we approach the end of part 2, things are taking a turn for Navani, Kaladin, and everyone still in Urithiru. We also meet one of the coolest side characters we've yet encountered, only to lose him immediately. So there's that. The situation is looking grim, but what will that mean for our protagonists?
E298 · 21 Sep 2026 · 1 hr 17 min
Joe missed this one, and it's a shame because the Invasion has begun. Kaladin, Navani and co are separated and caught completely off-guard. Can they repel the invaders before it's too late?
E297 · 14 Sep 2026 · 1 hr 25 min
Well, some of those predigments came to pass quite soon as it turned out. Beyond that we've got multiple of the crew sticking to their long-term predigments, and it's so fun to see! As Dac says at the beginning, this section is all Good Guy Adolin, and it's hard not to love him on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche! First things first - Dac's sound is all messed up this episode. I know. Believe me I am painfully aware as this episode took about 3x longer than usual to edit as I had to repair as much of it as I could. It's still not good, but it's a lot better than it was when I started and thought about just cutting his track entirely. And now that you've all had to share my pain - these chapters continue building up to the main plot of this book. I think some of the crew is getting a little weary of the buildup, maybe because the book started at such a breakneck pace. Still, lots of cool pieces of…

Joe is out this week, but these chapters drop a lot of interesting bits of information. Shallan engages in some espionage, Navani has a moment with her daughter and then a different kind of moment with her mysterious correspondent, and our crew continues to get more lost about what the heck is going on in Shallan's head. Good times. Music by Miracle of Sound
E294 · 24 Aug 2026 · 2 hr 2 min
We've got some calm chapters this week as part 2 begins in earnest, but they're also packed to the brim with juicy details and some confusing revelations as to the nature of Shallan's relationship with her alters. There's laughter, new Shards, and head scratching galore on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche! Music by Miracle of Sound: https://www.miracleofsound.net/
E293 · 17 Aug 2026 · 1 hr 40 min
We get our first interludes of the book, and it's interesting that this is the first time we've already known everyone who gets an interlude. Does that mean Brandon has run out of new characters for us to meet? Yeah, right. Starting part 2 is bringing out some interesting plot lines, though. The crew is especially excited to return to Shadesmar with Adolin and Shallan. Music by Miracle of Sound: https://miracleofsound.bandcamp.com/ The episode mentions a couple of funny movie scripts that someone emailed us links to. After reading them, the first one The Way of Kings I'm going to hold off on…

Jaymee is out this week, but we've got some fun going on as we reach the end of part 1. Make sure you listen through the end so you don't miss one of our best Moash emails ever!
E291 · 27 Jul 2026 · 1 hr 37 min
Some serious Cosmere stuff coming out this time. The only in-universe audience for it is Kaladin, though, who doesn't understand half of it and doesn't care much about the rest. To be fair, he's got his own stuff going on. And a mysterious sphere that harkens all the way back to the beginning of The Way of Kings. This should be interesting.
E290 · 20 Jul 2026 · 1 hr 51 min
Things are coming to a head on the Ghostbloods front as Mraize gives Shallan (and her brain roommates) a final mission. In another part of Roshar a plan is set in motion by a newly-awakened Fused to cripple the coalition in a single stroke.
E289 · 13 Jul 2026 · 1 hr 30 min
Joe missed this one, but we're talking about the wind down from the min-Sanderlanche that starts this book off. What seemed like a totally successful pair of missions brings a variety of consequences in the aftermath, and not just for our friends in Urithiru.
E288 · 29 Jun 2026 · 1 hr 55 min
Kaladin and Moash come face-to-face again for the first time in a long while. It's bad. Beyond that, there's some good stuff in here. Kaladin takes down the new Fused because he's kind of a windbag. There's even a bit of Lift, which is generally fun. Still ... Moash.
E287 · 22 Jun 2026 · 1 hr 31 min
The beginning of this book continues to move at a breakneck pace as Kaladin gets two separate epic battle scenes, and Navani's new creation descends from the heavens. At the same time concerns are raised regarding Shallan's ongoing stability and the sudden, unwelcome reappearance of a former Bridge 4 comrade.
E286 · 15 Jun 2026 · 1 hr 42 min
Well, here we go. It's time for the next Richard the Thick Book to hit our tables. Rhythm of War begins with some big revelations as to the character of Gavilar Kholin, and our crew has thoughts. Music is Whatever Comes Our Way by Miracle of Sound: https://www.miracleofsound.net/

On the Sanderlanche Podcast we've been reading Brandon Sanderon's books for the first time and talking about them, in detail, a few chapters at a time. The problem is as we progress through his epic series The Stormlight Archive, that means it's been quite a while since we read some of these books. We started The Way of Kings in October of 2023. So, thanks to a listener's suggestion, we decided to do a review episode to hit some key points before we move into Rhythm of War, and the result is this - Stormlight Jeopardy in 3 rounds - one for each of the Stormlight books we've read so far.…

Jaymee couldn't make it for the wrap-up, but we finished Dawnshard this week, and it was a fun Sanderlanche for this novella. So much happens at the end, but the resolution seems to have been pretty satisfying for the crew. Music by: https://www.miracleofsound.net/
E283 · 18 May 2026 · 1 hr 22 min
2/3 of the way through, and things are really heating up. The characters have seen through the tricks and are beginning to dig into the truth of Amia. Unfortunately that's exactly what The Gods Who Sleep Not did NOT want. So it's time for a giant monster attack. The podcast crew is really enjoying this one.
E282 · 11 May 2026 · 1 hr 28 min
We reach the halfway point of this novella, and the team is actually really vibing with a Stormlight story that answers questions without making you wait a thousand pages. Seems like we're really feeling good as we ease back into Roshar after our break on Lumar.
E281 · 4 May 2026 · 1 hr 37 min
We are starting in on a new novella this week. It's time for Dawnshard. What will we learn about the mysterious objects for which the story is named? Well, not much this week - that's for sure. Still, some very interesting stuff as we seem to be setting up a story centered on Rysn and Lopen, an unlikely but highly entertaining pairing.
E280 · 27 Apr 2026 · 1 hr 43 min
We've reached the end of another one, and what a trip this one was. Not to mention the wild Sanderlanche. In this episode we finally meet the Sorceress, find Charlie, and see Hoid's most dynamic ensemble yet. You really couldn't ask for much more. See how the crew feels about wrapping their first Secret Project on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!
E279 · 20 Apr 2026 · 1 hr 23 min
Jaymee is back for our second-to-last episode of Tress. There are some pretty wild reveals in this one. Successful negotiations, presents for the crew, and sudden but inevitable betrayal! But it's the predigments that really go nuts this week. There are some big shots being taken, and some of them might even land, who knows? Me. I know. Probably most of you do as well, but I'm allowed a little drama!
E278 · 13 Apr 2026 · 1 hr 31 min
Jaymee is out again, which is a darn shame because her prediction paid off! Things have begun to kick off for Tress and co. There's an attempted mutiny and then a foiling of said attempted mutiny and then there's ... what was it again? Oh, right, a huge freaking dragon. So, yeah, that's a thing.
E277 · 6 Apr 2026 · 1 hr 42 min
Jaymee missed this one, and that's a shame because like me she's usually a big fan of Cosmere Science! We're finally back in Tress of the Emerald Sea. We get more details about how spore technology works, and Tress begins to science the heck out of this stuff, coming up with some ingenious ideas of her own.
E276 · 30 Mar 2026 · 1 hr 43 min
Sorry, everyone, things went badly at the last minute, and we were unable to record the episode we had planned continuing with Tress of the Emerald Sea. So instead I've got a second week of special episodes for you. This time Joe and I are talking about one-star reviews of our most-recently-completed-book, Oathbringer. And then, as an extra treat, I've got something else as well. Hope you all enjoy!
E275 · 23 Mar 2026 · 1 hr 41 min
This week I've got three guests who came on to talk about Dragonsteel Nexus. There's lots of interesting information about what the convention is like. Great for anyone who's thinking about going, anyone who has gone, and anyone who just wants to know more about the convention. Cassie, Jerika, and Sam each bring an interesting perspective as three people who attended DSNX25, though each with a very different experience of the convention. It really highlights just how much there is to do. Also several links based on this week's discussions: The Sanderson Collector's Guild Discord server:…
E274 · 16 Mar 2026 · 1 hr 26 min
In this week's chapters things go really well for Tress! Her plans work out perfectly to get everyone on the ship going where she wants to go ... and then she realizes how that's really not a good thing for her. Yay? Boo? Something like that. Also some interesting discussion of the audiobook version which sounds frankly hilarious.
E273 · 9 Mar 2026 · 1 hr 35 min
Jaymee didn't make this one, but we've got some real worldbuilding going on this week. Deepening the characters, the mysteries of spores and seas, not to mention the origins of Huck and the motivations of Captain Crow. Until now it's been a bit of a breakneck adventure story. We've slowed down long enough to learn some stuff about the world around us, and really that's some of my favorite parts. How about you?
E272 · 2 Mar 2026 · 1 hr 24 min
Joe is out this week, but we're getting to know the crew of the Crow's Song as Tress decides to stay aboard the pirate ship to help the crew and possibly herself along the way. It may be dangerous. It may even be a terrible mistake, but she IS getting her own private room out of the deal. So I guess it can't be all bad.
E271 · 23 Feb 2026 · 1 hr 29 min
Our second episode of Tress, and things are really moving quickly. It turns out that the ship she worked so hard to board isn't a great place for her, but that's ok because it sinks quite quickly, and she is forced to join up with a pirate crew. Who saw that coming?
