Episode notes

In today’s episode, we dive into a truth most of us ignore: staying the same is actually harder than changing. We talk about why holding onto old versions of ourselves feels “safe,” even when they’re quietly breaking us, and why the pain of stagnancy is heavier than the fear of starting over. This episode is your reminder that discomfort doesn’t mean something is wrong; it often means you’re finally growing. If you’ve been feeling stuck, restless, or afraid to take the next step… this conversation will feel like a deep breath. You are allowed to change. You are allowed to evolve. And you are…

[SPEAKER_00]: To whoever this may impact, sometimes our lives have to be completely shaken up, changed, and rearranged to relocate as we were really meant to be. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes, change feels like loss, transformation is scary, and sometimes, to discover the best versions of ourselves, we must let go of absolutely everything that's holding us down. [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to our mystery, your new safe space. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to form a part of your healing journey.

[SPEAKER_00]: Today's episode is one that I've been waiting to talk about for a while because starting over has been such a huge theme in my own life lately. [SPEAKER_00]: And I know that a lot of you are in that season 2. [SPEAKER_00]: The season where you can feel that something has ended or needs to end. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're too scared of what comes next. [SPEAKER_00]: You're scared of change. [SPEAKER_00]: Scared of letting go. [SPEAKER_00]: Scared of rebuilding.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this episode is for anyone who feels like their life just fell apart. [SPEAKER_00]: But like it's about to. [SPEAKER_00]: and you're terrified of having to start again. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about why starting over is in something to fear, but something to honor. [SPEAKER_00]: And things aren't our failures. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's start here. [SPEAKER_00]: And things don't mean you failed. [SPEAKER_00]: They mean you grew, but we live in a world that glorifies consistency.

[SPEAKER_00]: The same job for years, the same relationship forever, the same version of yourself until the end of time. [SPEAKER_00]: And so when something ends, when we are grow something or someone, we feel guilty, we feel shame, we call it failure. [SPEAKER_00]: But the truth is, the starting over doesn't mean you're back at zero. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not starting from scratch. [SPEAKER_00]: You're starting from experience. [SPEAKER_00]: Every chapter that ends, add something to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lesson, a truth, a strength, a softness. [SPEAKER_00]: You carry all of it forward. [SPEAKER_00]: So when you start again, you're not who you were last time. [SPEAKER_00]: Your wife's are now, strong you're now, softer, but deeper. [SPEAKER_00]: You've seen that doesn't work. [SPEAKER_00]: You've learned what matters. [SPEAKER_00]: And that means this time, you're building better. [SPEAKER_00]: The fear of the unknown is a huge one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I get it. [SPEAKER_00]: The hardest part about starting over is not knowing what comes next. [SPEAKER_00]: The in-between that empty quiet space where the oldest gun but the new has interrupted. [SPEAKER_00]: It's scary. [SPEAKER_00]: It feels like falling without knowing if there's a net. [SPEAKER_00]: And it feels like walking in the dark hoping you're headed somewhere good. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's what faith is. [SPEAKER_00]: Faith isn't knowing the plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's trusting that you'll figure it out as you go. [SPEAKER_00]: And you always do. [SPEAKER_00]: You've done it before. [SPEAKER_00]: Think about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Every new beginning in your life started with fear. [SPEAKER_00]: Your first day of school, your first move, your first heartbreak, your first job, and yet somehow you made it through every single one of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Fear doesn't mean stop. [SPEAKER_00]: It means something familiar.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everything unfamiliar. [SPEAKER_00]: feel scary. [SPEAKER_00]: Until if you'll save. [SPEAKER_00]: So give it time because one day what scares you will now be something to look back on with gratitude. [SPEAKER_00]: Starting over is proof your brave. [SPEAKER_00]: Starting over takes courage. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not easy to walk away from what's known. [SPEAKER_00]: Even if what's known is in good for you anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's braver.

[SPEAKER_00]: to rebuild them to settle. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyone can stay where they're comfortable. [SPEAKER_00]: It takes strength to admit something no longer feels aligned. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're in that season, if you're ending something, moving somewhere new, reinventing yourself, and walking away from people or patterns, be proud of yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: Most people never do. [SPEAKER_00]: Most people stay because starting again feels too hard, but not you, you're choosing yourself, even when it's uncertain.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the kind of bravery that changes your entire life, the myth of starting from zero. [SPEAKER_00]: We have this idea that when something ends, we lose everything. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's not true. [SPEAKER_00]: When you start over, you don't lose the love that you gave, you don't lose the lessons that you learned. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't lose the strength it took to get here. [SPEAKER_00]: You take it all with you. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not a bag at square one.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're just standing somewhere new with more wisdom, more resilience, more clarity. [SPEAKER_00]: You know yourself better now. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what you want, and more importantly, you know what you don't. [SPEAKER_00]: And starting over is in regression. [SPEAKER_00]: It's evolution. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going backwards. [SPEAKER_00]: You're shifting directions. [SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes the universe will close doors, not because you failed, but because you were meant to walk through a better one.

[SPEAKER_00]: The beauty of becoming something new, starting over gives you permission to redefine yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: To let go of the labels, the identities, the roles you outgrew, it gives you a blank canvas and maybe that's the part that feels so scary, because blank means unknown, but blank also means possibility. [SPEAKER_00]: playing means creation. [SPEAKER_00]: Playing means you get to decide who you are now. [SPEAKER_00]: You get to ask yourself, who am I?

[SPEAKER_00]: When I'm not trying to be what everyone expects, what actually makes me happy, what kind of life do I want to build this time? [SPEAKER_00]: And that is the magic of starting over. [SPEAKER_00]: you get to answer those questions for yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: Release the timeline. [SPEAKER_00]: We're so afraid to start over because we think it means we're behind. [SPEAKER_00]: Like everyone else is moving forward and we're stuck rebuilding from the ground up.

[SPEAKER_00]: But timelines are fake. [SPEAKER_00]: Live doesn't happen in straight lines. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not late, you're right on time. [SPEAKER_00]: For your story, comparison will kill your piece faster than failure ever will. [SPEAKER_00]: So stop comparing your chapter one. [SPEAKER_00]: to someone else chapter 10. [SPEAKER_00]: Some people find their purpose at 20. [SPEAKER_00]: Others at 50. [SPEAKER_00]: Some people fall in love young.

[SPEAKER_00]: Others fall in love with life first. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's okay. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not supposed to have it all figured out. [SPEAKER_00]: You're supposed to be learning, evolving, trying, breaking, rebuilding, becoming. [SPEAKER_00]: So take that pressure off. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not behind. [SPEAKER_00]: You're just beginning again. [SPEAKER_00]: trust the process of rebuilding, starting over as a process, and it's not linear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some days you feel unstoppable, other days you question everything, you'll have moments of excitement, followed by moments of doubt, and that is normal, that's growth. [SPEAKER_00]: You're allowed to take it slow. [SPEAKER_00]: You're allowed to rebuild one break at a time. [SPEAKER_00]: Now every new beginning has to look loud and competent. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes, it's quiet. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes, it's messy. [SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes, it's just showing up and saying, I don't know what's next.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am willing to find out. [SPEAKER_00]: Trust that every small step counts, trust that every effort is planting something new, just that even when you can't see it yet, the foundation is forming. [SPEAKER_00]: Let go of who you were. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't start over if you keep holding on to old versions of yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: The one who tolerated too much. [SPEAKER_00]: The one who settled. [SPEAKER_00]: The one who was scared.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to let her go. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank her. [SPEAKER_00]: She got you here. [SPEAKER_00]: She did her best, but you don't have to keep being her. [SPEAKER_00]: Starting over means choosing different. [SPEAKER_00]: It means giving yourself permission to evolve. [SPEAKER_00]: You're allowed to change your mind. [SPEAKER_00]: You're allowed to all grow people, dreams, habits, cities, and even versions of yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: You're allowed to become someone new again and again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And every time you do, you're not losing yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: You're finding yourself more clearly. [SPEAKER_00]: What if it works out? [SPEAKER_00]: We spend so much time asking what if it doesn't work out? [SPEAKER_00]: What if it does? [SPEAKER_00]: What if the job you're scared to take? [SPEAKER_00]: becomes a one that changes your life. [SPEAKER_00]: What if the city you're scared to move to ends up feeling like home? [SPEAKER_00]: What if the person you're becoming?

[SPEAKER_00]: Feels more like you than anyone you've ever been. [SPEAKER_00]: Starting over is in the end of something. [SPEAKER_00]: At the beginning of something new. [SPEAKER_00]: And it might just be better than anything that you've ever known before. [SPEAKER_00]: starting over is not a punishment. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a privilege. [SPEAKER_00]: It means you were brave enough to admit that something wasn't working anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: It means you didn't settle.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means you choose truth over a comfort and that's not something everyone can do. [SPEAKER_00]: Most people stay. [SPEAKER_00]: They stay where it's familiar. [SPEAKER_00]: They say in relationships that don't grow, they say in jobs that drain them. [SPEAKER_00]: They say in brushes of themselves that no longer fit, just because starting over feels too hard, but you didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: You looked at your life and said, this isn't it anymore, and that takes courage, that takes honesty, and that takes love, real love.

[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of put peace over performance. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're starting over right now, I want you to stop seeing it as an ending and start seeing it as evidence of your strength. [SPEAKER_00]: Because starting over, it's proof that you refuse to lose yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not starting from zero. [SPEAKER_00]: You're starting from every single thing you survived. [SPEAKER_00]: Every heartbreak, every failure. [SPEAKER_00]: Every wrist that didn't go the way that you thought it would.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're starting with wisdom now, with clarity, with standards, and with boundaries. [SPEAKER_00]: So be grateful for yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: It means you are brave enough to trust your future more than your past. [SPEAKER_00]: It means you have the courage to believe that life still has a more for you, and it does. [SPEAKER_00]: This is your reminder that nothing truly ends. [SPEAKER_00]: It just transforms. [SPEAKER_00]: And every transformation starts with a single decision to try again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the version of you that's waiting on the other side of this restart would love.
