Speaker 1:A country which has only two seasons and which is home to a bird that makes its own tools right. Its New Caledonia for us from the Pacific Ocean. New Caledonia and overseas French collectivity exactly in the southwest Pacific Ocean, consists of three provinces. Its capital is no maya official language is French, and the people living there are called New Caledonians. This French dependency has a lot of interesting things about it. This island was discovered by Captain James Cook exactly in seventeen seventy four, which spans about one two hundred kilometers. It has four archipelagos and some smaller islands.
Speaker 1:The country consists of people of mixed nationalities from all around the world. You have Tahitians, Vietnamese, Europeans, Indonationans, Australians and some native New Caledonians. The marine landscape of this place makes it really attractive for marine animals. It has barrier reefs where many species of seas can be seen, including a lot of whales. The country also has many natural wonders, mountain peaks, lush green forests, clear waters. Montpenny happens to be the highest peak of this place, and the country boasts to have only two seasons, wet and dry.
Speaker 1:Talking about animals, there are about twenty species of birds which are endemic to this place. Also, there is New Caledonian crow, which is famous for creating its own tools. The primary export of this country is nickel and they happen to export more than twenty five percent of world's nickel. The place is also famous for creating exquisite carvings on wood. The native people of this country are called Cannex, which means human beings in Hawaiian language. Talking about languages, there are more than thirty dialects of languages spoken in this island.
Speaker 1:This place has the massive Barrier reef and many natural aquariums. That's why it is world's favorite scuba diving destination and the largest lagoon of the world surrounds the entire island, which is UNESCO World Heritage Site since two thousand and eight. Now let's quickly understand which is the flag of this place. In fact, New Caledonia doesn't have one single flag. It has two of them being of French Overseas territory. It does have the national flag of France as one of its flags. And the other flag is a horizontal tricolor with top stripe as blue, middle stripe as red, and the lower stripe is green in color. And at the center on all three lines towards the host side is a black outlined yellow colored circle. On it is black fletch for fair, which denotes the great houses of the Canic chiefs, the indigenous people of this place. So that's the flag of New Caledonia for us.
